Sy, its a little more than Ric just doing a bunk unfortunately. I believe he still runs his Sunday clan at present, although like many others i have not logged in to check for the last few weeks.

I think a lot of the players like myself have decided to take a break for a while, some of us put a lot of effort into the clan and our teams to then feel extremely angry at what we found.

There is currently communication regarding next steps for all the guys who quit that night and if we don't continue our own clan then i wish you luck getting some of our old players as they are great guys and great players who will rarely let anyone down.

Good luck with EUC!

Are you saying that people from Ric's games might have a home here? Should we not restart up a game of our own I'd be interested in joining.

Celtic win the treble

What a season it has been for Celtic as they won the treble for the third time in their history as well as setting numerous new records in the legue.

The season didnt start to well as they lacked the killer instact to finish of the teams that they were outplaying but at the same time were really hard to beat as they were solid at the back. But as Jan Erik Lyse began to find form Celtic were just about unstoppable and went on a 33 game unbeaten run which helped them retain the premier league and leave them 14 points clear of second place hearts with 87 points.

The 87 points collected by celtic was now a new record for a team in the SPL and the 78 goals scored was also a new record.

To add to those records and SPL title Celtic also added the league cup and Scottish cup to the trophy room by beating St Mirren 4-0 and Motherwell 3-2 in the finals.

The only dissapointment in this memorable Season for the Hoops was that they were unable to get past the group stages of the champions league but that was thanks to some dodgy refereeing decisions icon_wink.gif

A title for the U’s and Orr’s 1st as a manager,

It’s only been just under 30 years since a league title was brought back to Abbey road, by heck we loved it.

Not only that the reserves and U18s both won there leagues.

Now with league one in mind, our chairmen sold Downes to Kilmarnock for £1.6m without asking Orr, and no doubt that will infuriate him as he's a great believer in building not selling off the clubs better player.

With no major new faces brought to the club barr Steadman and Lance, who both spent last season on loan with us, we wonder how we'll fair next season.

Farquhar has came in from Palace on loan for the season, the former Scottish U21 looks a player, having proved he’s good enough for league one after two loan spells with Leeds and Gillingham, we have learnt from Orr that he’s in talks with Palace over a few other loan deals.

And there are six deals on the table for new players, and it’s a case of waiting to see who comes and who says f**k off.

media prediction is 20th.

We Are Hayes - Welcome to Church Road

Having the time of our life at Hayes with back to back promotions it was time to get back to reality to enjoy our first season in league football and be among some former premiership teams in the likes of Leeds and Watford!

Of course, as newly promoted team we get our tag and media prediction of rock bottom and relegation but that put the pressure of us for the season, or so I hoped! A rocky start to the campaign which saw us lose games which we more than dominated but showed us that we have a lot of hard work ahead of us!

League Cup

But our season kick started with the League Cup as in the first round we got Fulham at home, our former parent club came to town and left being kicked out of the cup after a two one defeat.

However, the second round got too much for us as Everton came to town, although we put up a good fight, unfortunately it ended one nil to the toffees but a great debut in the league cup I have to say!

Again though the league cup helped us up our performance and we had another winning streak of results which started to really move us step by step up the league ladder.

JP Trophy

The JPT Cup brought a massive first round tie for us, we would face none other than Davies Cambridge, the side who had beaten us in the league, can we beat the more experienced league side and advance to the second round? Of course we can! We beat Davies lot two nil infront of his own fans, a great win for a little club like Hayes! We got to the second round to face an even better opponent in MK Dons, it was pretty even until the dreaded penalties came and thats was the end of another cup!

FA Cup

Our league form was becoming a bit patchy but the FA Cup came along and we managed to get past Dorchester in a five goal thriller ending three two to us, we then faced Rushden and squeezed past two one to setup the biggest ever game in the clubs history, the third round of the fa cup at old trafford to face Man Utd! Well, no upset result here im afraid, we got a three nothing beating but it was happily accepted with the gate money that came our way!

League II - Play Offs

At this point we were still about seven points from the play offs and fought hard and managed to end the season in seventh place to steal that last place, first we would face Torquay, a one nil win at Church Road through a Brian Walls goal took us half way to a possible third final play off in three seasons and it was made a dream come true as we win two one in Torquay with Hayley and Williams scoring!

We would face Crewe in the final at Wembley, can the unthinkable happen a third year in a row? Well, unfortunately not! We fought hard once again but a defensive error cost us and we went home with a one nil defeat, but maybe its for the best that we stay another season in L2 to build up a squad and finances to cope in the higher leagues.

Club Highlights

So a successful season at Hayes which sees the club clear their debt and move into a financially sound position, something the club can build towards. The clubs board are more than thrilled with the commitment shown by myself and improvement to the clubs training and youth facilities will also be made in the coming season.

Fans player of the year was none other than free transfer signing McGlinchey, the former Southend forward came in and did an amazing job in fitting into the style we play and paid us back with 22 goals this season in all competitions, this watch followed by Greene with an amazing 18 league goals. This also means Greene is now only 7 goals away from matching the club record for league goals scored for Hayes, something im sure he will manage to do next season.

So thats it from Church Road....we look forward to next season and who knows what it will bring!

A German in Belfast

Welcome fans and followers of Northern Ireland, it has been an exciting season for the fans with of course the shock appointment of myself as manager as many predicted Davie Orr would be appointed, but fans still got to see Orr strutt his stuff as he was appointed U21 manager, where results will tell you why Gold got the main job!

European Qualification

Well my first game in charge was either gonna be a massive hit or complete blunder as we face Lichtenstein away, thankfully all went to plan and despite many goals that could have been, we walk away with a two nil win and three points in the bag.

Next up were Iceland, our first game at home and what a game, a three nil thrashing saw delight on the faces of our fans and three more points! This has started really well so far, if only we can get some sort of results against the big boys and anything is possible!

After such a good start, unfortunately Gold was not able to attend the other Northern Ireland games for the remainder of the year and this showed, as we got beat three one by Serbia and three nothing to Spain, but positive results did come as we beat Russia infront of the home fans, it seems Windsor Park is becoming something of a fortress for us! Maybe this will help us Qualify for our first ever European Championship!

Friendly

In between the qualifiers we played Tunisia at Windsor Park and were delighted with a morale boosting two nil win, the new year also started off with a friendly which saw us play none other than South Korea, a good opposition who we are happy to play again as a resounding four goals rattled in with no reply! The fans delighted but back to the qualifiers....

European Qualification Continues...

@Windsor Park vs Lichtenstein

Windsor Park presents Lichtenstein, again, we dominated but with our best strikers Hall and Matchett still missing we still manage to bring home the goods as Woods and Kelly score with no reply.

@Supermarket vs Iceland

We travelled to Iceland for a score fest it can only be described! A well deserved three points for us as once more we dominated the game and despite conceding two goals we smashed four in ourselves, Matchett finally not injured bagged a hattrick in the process!

@Windsor Park vs Austria

The big game live from Windsor Park, Matchett on fire again, he bagged himself a brace in this game, a great performance from him once again and at 26 years old he has not only surpassed the goal scoring record for Northern Ireland but is going to be putting up a marker that will be difficult to beat in years to come! A close game but deserved three points for N.Ireland.

With just four games remaining its going to be very tight at the top as anything can still happen on who qualifies after Spain as we have left remaining games against all the big teams now, Serbia, Russia, Spain and Austria. Wins are of course a definate to go closer in meeting the dream of qualification but all these teams are good and its going to take a lot of hard work in getting results against them!

Keep tuned to see if N.Ireland can make it!

Welcome To Church Road - Where Dreams Are Made A Reality

Season 2019/2020

Well exciting times for all Hayes fans this year, they are looking forward to another season of entertaining football despite being tipped for relegation again after last years play off final defeat, can Hayes make the play offs again or go one better and go up automatically?

The Long Summer

The Board of Directors have announced that they are thrilled with the continued commitment shown by Gold in remaining Hayes manager and with the finances sorted and stabilised are proud to announce that Gold will have 220k to spend on transfers and will keep the majority money available should any players be sold.

Pre-Season Friendlies

Four Friendlies have been setup this season, Sutton Utd, AFC Wimbedon, Burton and North Ferriby.

vs Sutton Utd - A resounding victory against Sutton which ends with a first half hattrick from McBride, Fox and Williams adding their names to the scoresheet, 5-0 final score.

vs AFC Wimbledon - An tie couldnt be more even, scoreless!

vs Burton - An easy game overall which ended up with Drysdale and Leigertwood scoring the only goals, 2-0 final score.

vs North Ferriby - It was a case of how many in this game, sadly only four but kindly shared around the team, Greene, Williams, McGlinchey and McBridge all stating their case for a starting place in the season.

Im very excited about our signings I have to say, we spent "big" in terms of Hayes, actually, we broke our transfer record! Of course that wasnt difficult but i just hope that the signings pay us back in terms of plenty of top performances and who knows, in the future win us some sort of trophy!

Stephen Ireland was released from Walsall and with no one noticing or offering him a deal, I managed to slip him and get him to sign, so excited about getting him, a great experienced and talented midfielder who will certainly add what I feel we been missing in the centre of the park.

Kristiansen is a 18yr old Attacking mid who comes from Bodø/Glimt, noticed him on my scouting missions and hope he turns into star, already good all round abilities which I reckon will improve.

Erik Lien joins for the midfield, another young player who just seems to have everything in the right place! Great passing, technique and long shot capabilities should make him a hit! At 160k I hope I get a lot back from the lad!

Petrovic is a Danish/Bosnian striker who I see replacing McG upfront once he leaves or retires, adding to my buying young and train up policy Im hoping once more the dive into the unknown pays off!

Gary Henderson finally joins! Spotted him for Northern Ireland and at 16yrs old has fantastic ability for a Keeper, immediately got Davie to call him up to the U21 squad, I had Blackburn as competition for his signature but beat them to it! Clever lad!

Vitor the Portugese centre back joins from none other than York for a 100k and is the signing of the summer without even playing a game, why you ask! Well, the lad turns down a host of massive clubs including Spurs, Huddersfield,Everton and many more but even better, he turned down Cambridge to join us! What a player, he just has to be good if them kind of clubs wanted him!

So the summer signings are in and we are ready to rock and roll, Williams was sold for 100k to Exeter, he only scored 4 goals all season and I needed the money to bring Vitor to the club, a great deal in my opionion and one we will find out later in the season!

Backroom Staff

Changes were made, well actually, contracts ran out and everyone but the physio left! So I advertised for new staff to come into the club and was pleased with the results I received, upon this the following join the Hayes rank.

Chris Burke & David McCracken (Scottish) as Youth Coaches, once our facilities are upgraded Im hoping we can start developing some real potential stars of the future.

Mario Otte & Stefan Metzger (German) come in as Coaches, finally good to have some of my fellow countrymen as Coaches, lets get practicing those penalties!

Ross Pattersson (English) also joins the coaching setup as does the legendary Dave Beasant who has been brought in at a small cost from Fulham to teach my young keepers how to do a brilliant job.

Joining as my assistant is welsh youth coach Edward Osbourne from stoke who has a high reputation within the game and im hoping he adjusts and does a good job at my side.

The League!

The first seven games went all without defeat! 3 wins and 4 draws showed we are no push over this season So I am very pleased with the results so far, however, we have lost Fox for 9months as he has some kind of Viral infection! A key player to this season missing for most of it. Things didnt help either that for the one and only game that the assistant was in charge of he lost, meaning that with no fault of my own, we have one defeat to our name brought on to us by Bristol Rovers, hopefully the damage can be undone! I am really impressed thus far by our away form, normally we lose and struggle away so good to see the performances being better as at home we normally do quite well!

Results So Far

Rochdale(Away)- 3-2 win with Greene scoring and two own goals scored by Rochdale, what a way to win!

Mansfield - 2-1 win with Walls and Greene scoring

Exeter(Away) - 1-1 draw with Hazley on the scoresheet

Macclesfield - 1-0 win with again Hazley on the scoresheet.

Nuneaton(Away) - 0-0 bore draw but its away from home.

Scunthorpe(Away) - 2-2 draw, should have won this easily but thats football.

Halifax - 1-1 draw, close game but they are top of the pile at the moment, so good effort by us

Bristol Rovers(Away) 0-2 Loss, damn Assistant, cant trust him to do anything!

So we are 10th at the moment but with a game in hand on the rest of the teams as we had a game called off due to international call ups, hopefully we can win that game and move back into the play off places and progress towards staying in the top half of the table!

Stay tuned to see if Hayes can progress further in the Football League........

A German in Belfast Continues...

The story continues of the German as manager of Northern Ireland! So far the fans cannot be too disappointed with the manager as they have only lost two games so far against two very good teams in Serbia and Spain.

Although the U21 manager could probably try a little harder he is bringing in new players to his squad all the time and overall is doing a good enough performance but more about that from the man himself Mr Davie Orr.

European Qualification

@Windsor Park vs Serbia

With the assistant having lost this one in the away leg I just had to put things right, once again we have available Matchett to us who is just outstanding for his country, although dominating the first half it saw no goals by half time. A brief chat during half time soon changed things, we continued in our ways and were rewarded soon after as McGovern headed us into the lead, this was then followed by a brace from the wonderful skills of Matchett!

Full Time: N.Ireland 3 vs 0 Serbia

@Lokomotiv vs Russia

What a game, just all I have to say about this one, with fans and followers coming to watch this great game they certainly went home happy with what they had seen! Russia take the lead after a dubious penalty just before the 20 minute mark. But just over 10 minutes later and to level things going into the break, Matchett scored a great solo effort. James Hall was taken off as he had suffered a knock, news got even worse as not even ten minutes after the second half kicked off his replacement Kelly also suffered an injury, it was time to bring Celtic forward Paul Jones on, who's manager was a VIP guest with us at todays game.

Then the magic started! Jones comes on and smash bang wallop! Two goals scream into the back of the net! You guessed it, what a super sub, Jones smashes in a brace within a time frame of three minutes.......but then, Russia caught Northern Ireland sleeping and countered by slipping in a goal of their own, with 10 minutes on the clock its going to be a tight finish, will Russia grab a draw? Of course not, Matchett runs deep into the Russia half, receives a long pass from Evans, he advances towards the keeper....chips him....controls the ball once more and boots it into the back of an open net! What a goal! Game set and Match, what a result!

Full Time: Russia 2 vs 4 N.Ireland

@Windsor Park vs Spain

With two fantastic and historic wins against superb opposition it was time to face group leaders Spain, can N.Ireland do the impossible and beat the Spanish Armada, a win also meaning direct qualification to the European Championships......can Northern Ireland do the impossible and beat Spain and qualify!? A win for Spain would also qualify them and bring qualification for N.Ireland to the final game against Austria in which would be a must win game.....

With just about 6 minutes gone on the clock the dream is bursting, Longas pops up at the far post to nod Spain into a lead with the Spaniards going crazy.....but whats this, a harmless free kick 35 yards out from goal, Lockhart runs up....GOALLLLLLLLLL and what a goal, he curls it round the wall and into the top corner, not even two keepers could have stopped that! The scoreline stays 1-1 at Half Time, its all still open, we can do it!

A throw in deep inside the N.Ireland for Spain, but it lands at Lockhart's feet, he lobs it over to Matchett who stands just outside of our own half of the centre circle....he runs and runs, he takes it round one, round two........GOALLLLLLL Match that he screams as he runs screaming at the fans, what a dream goal! Northern Ireland are on fire and the lead is extended even further as Paul Jones also wants in on the scoring and nods in a third just 15 minutes after Matchetts goals, can we hold onto the lead.........we're deep into added time but whats this......a spanish counter attack.....oh no! Goal for Spain, can we hold on............

YES YES YES!!!! Northern Ireland win and thus Qualify for the European Championships, what a game, what a performance what miracle! The German takes Northern Ireland to their first European Championship ever, who would have thought this would happen after Gold was appointed!

Just one more game to play for Northern Ireland which will be against Austria, although the result does not matter as qualification has now been secured a win would certainly be a nice way to finish off the qualification round. Matchett has been utterly world class, the untouchable he should be called, some cracking goals from him and it seems Jones is a good strike partner to put him with.

FIFA World Rankings

The new rankings were announced and I am delighted to see that Northern Ireland have moved up two places in the rankings, it now means they are above both Brazil and Italy in 8th place!

I just hope that the players, especially Matchett, Jones, McGovern, Evans and McEvoy stay fit for the summer as with them we should have a cracking European Championship! Its going to be a tough one but hopefully we will put up a good fight and make a name for ourselfs, we will see how they get on at the end of the season!

Feeding the poor

after years of asking the board for a feeder club, Orr finally got his wish with AFC Sudbury, the partnership will allow Orr to sent out the kids, and hopefully flourish.

the players sent out are as followed.

Bruce O'Brien the former Scotland U21 Gk - Ricky Bacon who joined from Drogheda Utd last season - Craig Young former Rangers youth player and Paul Garry whos came thru the Cambridge youth system.

"sadly due to a silly law within the English game am only allow to sent a max of 4 players" Davie Orr.

NI.PNG

the other job

as the full International team is ripping up the oppostion, the U21s are been trying a whole host of players in order to aid the main team, so far 4 players have made the step up.

Kevin Devlin - Portsmouth

Neil Walsh - Doncaster

Ally Murray - York(on loan at Falkirk)

Ross McLaughlin - Crystal Palace(on loan at Torhout)

with 3 friendly set up before the years out at Brandywell park against Nigeria, Scotland and Germany, no doubt a few more players will make there u21 debut.

Back Page Of the Margate Herald

Margate FC Manager Robert Knott

Im not here to talk about the doom and gloom of last season this season is all about getting the goal and having a feel good factor about the club.

Im happy with 2nd place so far but as soon as possible i would like to cement Margate at the top of the league and try to get a big points gap between 2nd.

We definetly have a squad capable of winning this league, with 1 or 2 more targets added in January , i feel we can win this league !.

Speaking on new faces ...

Toke Hansen was signed a CB with a very bright furture in the game, signed from Holbaek the 20 year old danish international has 3 u21 caps.

Ben HinchCliffe experienced keeper signed from Hereford Fc. rave reviews was coming from scouts about this player for the last 3 seasons so margate snapped him up when available for £0.

Trevor Carson Another experienced keeper now there is alot of competition for places after margate snapped up the former Northampton shot stopper.

Margate football club would also like to congratulate Manager Robert Knott On His 10 Years at the club.

Bratties on the Barbie.....A German In Belfast......Continues

Well the summer for fans and followers of Northern Ireland was already going to be great as Steve Gold is taking them to the European Championships for the first time in their History but they did it in style....

@Wien, vs Austria

It was quite an even affair but Northern Ireland did enough to see them win the Qualifying Group in style with a one nil victory over the Austrians, the difference between the two sides was 19yr old Devlin who rippled the back of the net with a great free kick just outside the area, curled it round the wall and into the top corner, great goal for a player who is going to have a great international career by the looks of it, its his first goal for his country!

Full Time: Austria 0 - 1 Northern Ireland

With this great win it means that Gold also breaks a Northern Ireland record for most games won in a row, all games this year have been won, 7 competitive games in total, additionally to this Northern Ireland also beat Korea in a friendly at the turn of the year making it unofficial 8 wins in total, a succesful year for Northern Irish fans and followers to have witnessed!

Welcome To Church Road - Where The Impossible Can Happen!!

Welcome back again fans of Hayes, it has been a good start to the season so far with us even being on top spot for one game, despite a defeat taking us back to 4th we are only one point behind the league leaders, its a very close league indeed and a defeat will see you drop many places but a few wins in succession could see you opening a game as the others trip up!

JP Trophy

Joining the competition in the 2nd Round was a bit unusual for us but we took it and it setup a game against Cheltenham, a goal bonanza sees the mighty Hayes win 4-2 and continue to the next round, Walls, Greene and Petrovic all netting!

FA Cup

Its that time of the year again! Having enjoyed a good money spinning cup run last season Im obviously hoping to do the same this season as the financial reward was so good, even better would be of course to progress to the 4th or 5th round but we have to keep things realistic, first though we have to beat Farnborough who are riding high in the National taking top spot in that league, but we showed them with goals from Spurr and Greene sealed the tie 3-2.

Our league form has been quite good but its expected to take a turn for the worse as we are now running through a massive injury crisis with 7 first team players all out injured including Walls, Petrovic, Hayley and Vitor, key members so far this season but the half way point is coming up soon and hopefully the players recover in time to take the 2nd half by storm and who knows, take us into more of the unknown and into League 1! Stay tuned to see what happens.........

The run was finally ended by a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox the home of our great rivals Rangers which made the defeat even more dissapointing.

Thanks to that great sequence od results Celtic lead the SPL by 3 points with a game in hand over nearest rivals Rangers and are into the champions league first knockout round were they will play Deportivo and there is also a scottish cup quarter final against Dundee Utd so if the team reproduce form like that we should be in for a successful season again.
