Grec
Just playing a match against Motherwell in the UEFA Cup qualifier. Game is hosted in the Fir Park in Scotland on 18 august. When I looked at the forecast it said that it would be 34C during the game. I've always been told that Scotland is rainy and cold, this is exactly what I experienced last summer on vacation. The last thing I expected in the game is that global warming is programmed in the game.
Craigeastbourne
Also i played a game in the summer and the pitch looked like a mud bath !
jack_man
Someone posted a screen of a game in england in the middle of winter and it was 20 odd celcius.
chopper99
In 2003 Scotland recorded a record temperature of 32.9 C in July, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that it could hit 34 C at some point in August.
Grec
And it's getting crazier. On the home game in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, it will be 14C on 1 september. This is a huge difference in two weeks.

stuboy
Actually it is:D yes, totally unrealistic, if it was that hot the game would never go ahead, all the motherwell players would be down at the park with a carry out turning themselves bright pink
Antmanbrooks
My computer would melt if it tried to process a game in these conditions
4457
Games are regularly played in 34°C temperatures in Africa, Asia and Australia though. It's only the European pansies.

In Scotland if it's 34°C you don't play football. You go to the pub for a pint to chill:)

This is a huge difference in two weeks. Here in Holland we get nice wheater (if we get it at all) and high temps in May and late September. July, august and early September it is really not so nice. But 14 Degree Celsius is a little less, msut be around 19 Degree

Mr T
Well I read the global temperature was something like 0.34C above long term average this year. So someone must have had a good summer! Maybe the aussies with all their forest fires.
rhysisonfire
44 degrees? That's silly heat. Can you even do anything in that heat?
Some Guy!
Been in worse... If the humidity is right it is livable, but only happens a few times a year. Apparently the worst ever recorded in my home town was 47.5°C... More 2 thirds of a century ago.
