Who's playing Everton? And is anyone updating player stats?

Branthwaite hasn't been touched by the looks of it, shame we haven't had an update by the PSG researcher.

Working my way through the first season, in December and actually in the top 4 would you believe........that crippling debt is looking over my shoulder though lol!!!

Everton is tough. Finished 12 and 13 but won the EFL Cup and playing Uefa Europa Conference League this season. I am rebuilding the squad with young talents. If you sell Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, for example to Saudi or top four-teams, you can get a lot of good and young players.

Here is some of the players that i bought: Roko Šimić, Talles Magno, Javi Guerra, Juan Sforza, Giovanni Fabbian, Giovanni Fabbian, Filippo Mané, Dennis Seimen, Kebir Ali Canpolat, Emanuel Emegha and Warren Zaïre-Emery.

Best one? Javi Guerra. Wow, what a player. Roko Šimić is good also and had a little breakout season with 12 goals.

Youssef Chermiti is hard to know how good he is going to be. Great potential but very up and down in his performance. In my third season he is a super sub for me after loan spell at Huddelsfield at season two. He scored 20 goals in 42 games in The Championship but he is not yet good in Premier League.

I will maybe sell him and bet all cards on Martin Sherif insteed. I think Sherif is going to be good-good next season.

How has Chermiti performed for you, guys?

Loaned him to Union Saint-Giloise - 34 apps, 9 goals, 7 assists (7.09 average) and 2nd season he's at Cremonese - 22 apps, 11 goals, 4 assists (7.21 average).

One of my fave signings so far (cost me £2.9m first season!!!) :

Took Everton in first season to 4th in league, FA Cup Final (lost to Arsenal) and Carabao Semi Final (lost to Man U)

DCL has been banging them in scoring 29 goals (4 of which were penalties) playing as a CF mainly

Got Hudson Odoi and Pepe on loan and both were assist machines from the wings as IF’s with a few goals thrown in also

Signed an ageing Paredes who done a great job and took goal of the season with a 30 yard strike

No other major transfer business with a useful signing of Facundo Torres who played in behind DCL showing some promise and being highlighted by board and fans as a very good value signing

I'm back - much against my better judgment! I am glad to see the old faces are still about (Legs... are you on here still - it is Rez) - I thought that the Everton spine is quite poor truth be told, like you say Brantwaite needs a good looking at! Onana is possibly about right but maybe a bit more, I see Pickford is as ever underrated... The other thing I've seen is you just cannot shift players (even on a free) - still I am using the Master of Puppets tactic and doing pretty well - 6th currently - scoring a lot of goals - not as many as I suspect I would if I had the right players - but enjoying it!

Nice to see some people still playing through with Everton! I'm still on my FM23 save and we are absolutely flying!

Going into March 2025 and we are second in the league, into the final of the EFL cup and looking for Champions League qualification.

I had a golden generation youth intake first season and this batch are all about to turn 20 next season. Time to start integrating them into the first team. They are all currently on loan at various clubs but next season I will have to start making room for them!

I will post a more extensive update at some point.

How does Amadou Onana look on everybody’s save? I always thought his potential was low on fm23, has he been improved?

He has a very decent average of 7.26 and has 6 goals for me (still in 6th place all very tight from 3rd down to 11th - also in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup) I think his rating is at 162 pa, which is possibly about right.

I have got to the January window and Real Madrid came straight in for him with a £56mil bid - HA... REFUSED, well I negotiated it WAY too high - Needless to say, he is now disgruntled so I've 'agreed to sell him' but with a fee of £75mil - The same thing has happened with DCL and Arsenal they came in with a £36 mil bid - REFUSED -Now he's upset - sake... If I get through the January window and don't lose anyone (of note) it will be an absolute miracle!

Amadou Onana is underperforming for me. Quite disappointed of him, specialty when he has great stats and i play him at his roll.

thats one of FMs biggest misconceptions. your playing him at one of your coaches opinions of what would be his best role. his best role is whatever you think his build / attributes suit best.

Well... what do you all make of today's news... I am a little surprised, but not overly concerned and it could be the making of a new Everton - one where the fans unite with the players and the manager getting full backing (through thin and thinner) and we drive one from there... Disappointed with the Premier League - make no mistake this issue has been running for 3 years (since the Sigurdsson 'charges') and has rumbled on and on...

I despise the PL and this BS committee with a passion!

yeah pretty crazy, i must say though, can see it being overturned and getting a reduced penalty. Practically every pundit out there has said its way over the top.

That is assuming there isn't other info we don't know about of course......

We should have followed the Chelsea route and snapped up some promising players, rather than overspend on duds like we did

As mentioned above, the 2025-26 culminated with a first finish in the top four in the premier league since 2004-05 season. Over a 20 year absence! We also picked up the Carabou cup on the way through, beating Chelsea in dramatic fashion before  a 2-1 win over Liverpool in the final. Denying Klopp's formidable side a clean sweep and first quadruple.

Below are competitions screenshot and first eleven. We largely played a 4-2-3-1 deep, with the usual tweaked Gegenpress. Our season started strongly, only losing 2 games prior to December away to Chelsea and Liverpool. An equally run of form from January through to March established us within the top 4 and a potential title challenge. We remained the second until the final two game weeks, where a Chelsea side who had found some form clawed their way above us.

The duo of Ramsey and Watkins, recruited from Aston Villa in the summer were core to this early form. Thiago Almada and Olise also performing with key goal contributions throughout. The midfield partnership was solid if unspectacular, both purchased for a combined £18m from Lyon and Montepellier. These both had performed high in terms of progressive passes per 90 and possession regained per 90. Not quite a money ball approach, but finding players who are good in their roles for a minimal fee worked out good for us this season. Stach and Onana slotted in and added physicality when required.

The back four was disrupted at the end of the summer window as club captain Demiral was poached by Atletico Madrid for his release clause. I dipped into the market and picked up Theate and Cameron Carter Vickers from Celtic to boost our numbers with quality and physicality. Todibo was brought in in January after Theate suffered a long term injury. Full Squad below:

Moving forward financially, we would be in quite the hole if we did not have Champions League football revenue on the way!

£471m in Net Debt
£147m in Annual Wages

Net Transfer Spend of £18.6m which glosses over the fact we had a huge player turnover this year!

(Player Expenditure of £341.8m - Player Sold £296.2m

We also earned  an extra £12m  in Prize Money this season by virtue of finishing 3rd as opposed to last seasons midtable finish. Plus we won a domestic club despite having no European football for the coffers. The financial projection is currently showing us as sliding into the red to a sum of -£292m - which I think will correct itself over the 2026-27 season ticks over in game!

---

Targets next season, if nothing surprising happens will be to establish ourselves within the top four, win a cup and have a good Champions League run. We will be targeting quality improvements across the pitch with an aim to sign the below profile of players:

- Elite ball winning midfielders (High possession won per 90 - club current best =  Anton Stach 12.95)
- Elite ball progressing midfielder (High progressive passes per 90 - club current best = Chotard 7.68)
- First team standard winger - (High dribbles completed per 90 - club current best = Olise 3.59)
-- with Hugs Line PPM and either footededness.

Our golden generation youth are due back next season from loans and have matured nicely.

Sam Todd (GK) - loaned to Coventry in Championship (50 apps - 6.81)
Kelvin Teague (CAM / ST) - loaned to Sunderland in Championship (43 apps - 24 goal involvements - 6.98)
Dermot Dermon (ST) - loaned to Austrain division team ( 29 apps - 8 goal involvements - 6.67)
Steve Parkinson (RB) - Loaned to Luton Town in Championship (44 apps - 6.83)

Mu save is probably very different to everyone elses.

I was Chelsea and got sacked, tried to experiment but failed

At the end of the season i noticed that Everton have been relegated and got a new owner...tycoon! They had already sold some of the players but my wage budget was massive and nearly £300 million in transfers. I have been forced to sell £138 million worth of players due to dropping to the championship with the likes of Calvert Lewin going for a measly £23 million(sold before i took over) Pickford for £30 million and Beto for £50 million.

I have been able to replace these by signing the below;

Summer 2024

  • Lesley Ugochukwu (Loan)
  • Ian Maatsen(Loan with a view to sign for £20 million)
  • Illias Chair(£10 million)
  • Marcos Andre (£4.5 million)
  • Ernest Nuamah( £27 million)
  • Facundo Pellistri (£2.3 million)
  • Donny Van De Beek (£4.5 million)
  • Jeremy Doku (£40 million
  • Benjamin Sesko (£55 million)

January 2025

  • Kalky (£10 million)
  • Dorde Petrovic (£18 million)
  • Joel Piroe (£8.5 million)
  • Gavi (57 million)
