Stuniverse
Episode 6 - Pre-season | "Skjelten Dalhus had us worried" We nearly lost a player when Arna Bjornar and Sola offered Eirik Skjelten Dalhus the opportunity to drop down a tier and play for them. There was also rumoured interest from Bremnes in the same division as us. We moved quickly to offer Eirik a new amateur contract on £0.00 per week. Eirik appeared happy, although we did have to negotiate as he wanted to be played in his favourite position as a striker. I couldn't agree to that because we have better strikers than Eirik and I need him to play in central defence. Fortunately, Eirik committed his future to Loddefjord... at least for now. Stuniverse
Episode 6 - Pre-season | "An English trialist" That's right, we've had a young Englishman training with us. Let me explain. There was a British TV series I watched called "Boot Dreams". In it, Noel Gifton-Williams set-up a training camp for young players who had been released by English professional football clubs. The players joined Gifton-Williams on a training camp where they were coached, played in friendly matches in front of scouts, with the aim of getting them back into professional football. Some did get signed, but most didn't... so I invited them to come in on trial with us. Only one player accepted our invitation. -- Despite being unable to speak Norwegian, my Assistant Manager Tor Martin Hegrenes, First Team Coach Roar Olsen and myself were all impressed with Harvey Cullinan's attitude and application in training and the Friendly matches Harvey played for us in. We decided to offer Harvey an amateur £0.00 per week contract. Spoiler Edited November 23, 2023 by Stuniverse
