andychar
Nations League England (h) Sick of facing England right now! 3 games without a win. If we win the 4th then we go into the last game knowing a point will be enough to top the group, depending on the result we could have top secured. Interesting times. We have looked good recently so we go in with the morale high but still don't think we are favourites or anything. We will have to be at our very best to beat England. Even then its not been enough recently! Lets get stuck in! Please Rashford. No more. Its been one way traffic. Lowry! Out of nothing really. We are level! England were the better team but we finished the half strong. If we can pick it up in the second half then things could get very interesting. Notice the yellow as well. Patterson will have to wait to get his 100th cap. Wally. Who else but Munro! What a start to the second half! Brennan makes himself an instant Scottish Hero! I cannot wait till Rashford retires. If we don't play them again until he does I'll be happy. We have to hold on here! And we've done it! The Auld Enemy vanquished! Huge scalp. Delighted.
andychar
Nations League Belgium (a) Its nice to go through a Nations League and tick off 3 teams. 2 of them being heavy hitters in World Football. But this game here gives us the chance to qualify for the Semi Final for the first time. All we need is a point. We lost the head to head with England on away goals...I think....I assume. This starting lineup is going to be who survived injury and suspension. 5 players out with either/or. Come on Mozambique. You know you want a piece of this. Its a bit of a muddle of a starting line up. We obviously want to get to the Semi but anything else is a bonus after ticking all 3 off the list. Munro is the greatest Scottish player of all time. Its been all them since we scored. Belgium have been the better team but right now I don't care. Its all coming good. Lowry with the goal. We lead. We are 45 minutes away from the Semi Final of the Nations League. Technically would be our first Semi Final and I'll take it! Now then as it stands this would be enough. England lead 2-0. Its all going wrong! Laidlaw! Is that enough!? It probably won't be! What a game. We will miss out but my God we left everything on the pitch. Very proud of the effort. Confirmation of what we already knew. What an effort and at the very least it will be a 1st Seed for the World Cup Qualifications.
andychar
Nations League Round Up No real surprises here at all. Ireland ran Spain close but the 4 relegated teams provide zero shocks. France finally make it back to the main stage. Austria following up their recent good form with promotion. Poland is a good one because we have yet to face them. Once again no real shocks with relegation. We reach the bits that won't affect us but here we are. Belarus, always finishing bottom it seems. Gibraltar got a win so well done to them. Andorra get a chance in the 3rd Tier. Faroe Islands continue their yo-yoing.
andychar
World Cup Qualifying Draw For the first time we are drawn into the bigger Group meaning no sneaky friendlies. Good news is, we should be topping this group really. Switzerland, Cyprus and San Marino give us chance to tick off 3 more Countries here. Add that to the 3 we got from the Nations League and we will be just behind the 7 average we have been getting. Not to shabby really.
andychar
We've had harder windows. Feel this is becoming the steady 3 now. Louis Jackson becomes one of 2 players who might earn their first cap this window. Surely Patterson rakes up 100 this window! David Glover becomes the other. We have one or two really good youngsters coming through with Potential. He is one of them. No surprises here.
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Luxembourg (a) A competitive fixture that feels like a friendly. This is one of those games you want to score early and ease the pressure. Not a surprise we are favourites. McGinty gets the nod down to wanting consistency. The rest is pretty cut and dry. There are a few missing down to injury, Hunter and McGurk the biggest. This team should win this game easily. We have already ticked this Country off so lets get the win and move on. Munro gets the early goal we wanted. Munro another. Should be done and dusted now. Hardwick makes it three just before the half. Its been as comfy as it should be. Munro hattrick. Poor. We shouldn't be conceding against these! The World wasn't set alight but its a win and we will take it.
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Cyprus(a) A little bit tricker on paper but we should still be winning this game. We are favourites. We can't underestimate them however as they did hold Switzerland to a point in the opener. Some changes here there and everywhere thanks to fatigue but its a team that should still win. Chance to tick off another European Nation. Its not been pretty but we were awarded a Penalty and Gilmour doesn't miss. Dagger for Cyprus just before the half. No complaints here. Its not been straightforward at all but we lead. Laidlaw gets his second. Job done. Professional job. So far so good. Romania and Switzerland have both faced San Marino.
andychar
No changes here. No need to be. There is one reason why MacLeod has been called up. Just look at his age! He will play and he will break the record for youngest ever player. Hunter back in the line up. Its looking good this. I wanted to call different players other than McDonald but they were locked into U21 and U19 which is a shame really. McDonald probably won't play. andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifier Switzerland (a) On paper this was going to be our trickest game. Romania have 6 from 6 but like us haven't really played anybody yet. Bookies think it will be close but have made us the underdogs. Just the way we like it really. Our strongest XI here. Chance to tick another Country off. A brilliant team goal and we lead. The lead didn't last long however. Doak heads us back into the lead. We deserve the lead at the break. We need to kick on now and but the game to bed. A brilliant free kick after a red card gives us the win. Great win!
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifier San Marino (h) This is the easiest competitive game we are going to get. I want to destroy them. That being said I've picked a second string near enough. Biggest odds we have had I think. 15 years old and he is playing for his Country. I'd never take the cap off. Gilmour penalty. It took a penalty! Brennan doubles the lead. Laidlaw with a very quick fire double. Pretty much what's expected here. Laidlaw with the hattrick. Laidlaw has taken advantage of the lower side. It wasn't a thrashing. It was a win. Romania and Switzerland have drawn which is brilliant for us. Looking good so far.
andychar
That record will never be beaten.
andychar
3 players can make their debut. I've got some good youngsters coming in. The next generation is brewing nicely. There isn't much between McGinty and Cairney. I think I might have found my new number 1 for a while. 17 year old Scott Strang... Half these players 30+. Brotherston is a mistake. I click use suggested squad and then adjust. He slipped through the cracks.
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Romania (h) This is the chance to take control of this Group and push on for Qualification. Bookies make us favourites, I make us favourites. We still need to turn up and do a job. And I need to get as many games in as I can before 10. 4 players start today 1 yellow from a Suspension. Now I'm not saying today would be a good day to pick up those cards, all I'm saying is "Get Stuck In". One thing you need to know about me is, I like my stars. And finally Johnson has made the jump to 3 stars. New starter? Other than that its my strongest XI. Sorry I missed the entire first half because I had to jump off but I thought I'd leave it running. It was the Munro show. As you can see we are dominating. 4 shots from 13 isn't great but neither is 3 goals from 4 shots on target for them. Brilliant half and game should be as good as won from here...surely? Munro has been switched to the wing. This time he turns provided for Laidlaw. Why am I getting my hopes up that we have a team that can challenge!? Why!? Disappointed to concede but its of no significance really. Job done and I'm happy. andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Luxembourg (h) Nice back to back Home Stint and this one should be a breeze. Expect to see a bit of rotation here. Namly a certain 17 year old making his debut. Its not a weak lineup to say the least. Nice early goal to calm the nerves. Munro despite starting on the wing. Laidlaw is going to retire with a very impressive International Record because of games like this! Laidlaw with another. All 3 Laidlaw goals had to be checked by VAR and all 3 were given. He even had time to miss a penalty for his hattrick. We are where I expected us to be. Just noticed that Turnbull has all 4 assists. Boring second half really but the job was already done. Perfect so far as we push towards qualification.
andychar
Hardwick will be a big miss. I think Murray Johnson has cemented himself finally as the Number 1. No random Youth's called up this time. Look at all those suspensions waiting to happen! John Todd does have an outside chance of making his debut. Munro should hit 200 caps and 300 goals by the time he retires!
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Cyprus (a) This one feels like a tricky banana peel. Like Iceland away was all those years ago. On paper we should win... ...and we are favourites to do so. A few changes here mainly because I don't want 5 players suspended for the next game! Erm...well that was awful. Brennan and Doig are not suspended! Couldn't help themselves! We were patient and it paid off. Munro with the opener. Good finish from Lowry should put the game to bed. Munro adds the gloss for his second. Good second half. Job nearly done.
andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Switzerland (h) The equation here is simple. A win and we are through. I'm not sure if a draw would be enough as well. Lets just win and make it certain. 5 of the 11 are 1 yellow away from a suspension. So the next game might be interesting. John Todd does get a game. Bless him. It was between Gilmour and O'Hare to start and I went Gilmour with the thought process "If we get a penalty." 1-0. Gilmour. Penalty. Munro doubles the lead. An absolute flurry. It was honestly a nothing game up until the penalty. Munro makes it 4. I don't know if this person is real or not but I'd have his virtual babies. Buchan hasn't been as automatic a place as he once was but he's taken advantage of a rare outing today. We need to remember we are playing Switzerland and this result is impressive. We blew them away. Very straight forward in the end. This feels different. This feels like we can go to the World Cup and do something special. andychar
The usual 3. Johnson is the number 1 for the foreseeable. McGurk fitness just not enough to justify sticking him in the squad. andychar
World Cup 2034 Qualifying Romania (a) Nice that we are through. Be even nicer if we can get there winning 10 out of 10. We are favourites which I was expecting away from home. No words just get to it. Just when I feel like we are in a good position! That tells you everything you need to know about the half. 0.05 xG with the shot. We have an extra man. I'm expecting a turnaround. It means nothing but I can't help but by absolutley fuming. P*** poor.
andychar
World Cup Qualifying Round Up For the first time this save I really didn't want to sit through a game. After that performance and with it being San Marino I decided to use Instant Result. So lets get this result out the way and see what's happening in the rest of the World. It was like I was there! So lets start the Round Up close to home and look at our Europe went. Wales go through as group winners in what was a very closely contested Group. Too many dropped points for Switzerland and they miss out. No surprises in Group C. Group D sees two go through although Ireland were pushed by Slovakia. Once again no more surprises and England prove how hard it is to go through 100%. Italy and Germany make it through with not many issues. Same with Belgium and Croatia who dominated their group. No surprise in Europe. Lets go further afield. I'd say there's no surprises here either. Venezuela have a chance in the World Cup Playoff. I always think Africa is one of the most competition areas of the World. Mali being the 4th best 2nd placed team have a chance in the World Cup Playoffs. Qatar make the World Cup on their own. I don't like seeing China there after playing a Friendly against them! Never mind UAE qualify for the World Cup Playoffs. The two teams who finished 5th also played each other and Thailand won which I assume takes them into the World Cup Playoffs as well. You'll notice no Australia, thats because they are the Hosts. Suriname were a surprise including in the last World Cup. Well this shows it wasn't a fluke. Haiti being the best 3rd place team go to the World Cup Playoff. The battle of the New! With zero surprises. New Caledonia go to the World Cup Playoffs. Hait and Thailand go within 90 minutes of a place in the World Cup with China there despite losing. I'm lost. Totally lost. Ok so I think UAE qualify for the World Cup and China as the loser goes to the Playoff. Thailand take them all the way but just miss out. Mali get through as well. So there you go. You know every team who will be at the World Cup. We await the draw before our next set of Friendlies and what feels like the first time in a while I can tick off a Country! andychar
World Cup 2034 Draw We should be 1st seeds for this. We go into the draw 11th in the World (stupid Romania). I want 2 teams I've not faced in the Group please. Don't care how good they are. I just want to tick Countries off. We have stalled slightly and I'm not ready for it! Yes Ruud it IS hard to believe. Got to be happy with that. Got my wish. A chance to tick off 2 more Countries including another South American. Neither game will be straightforward. I'm looking forward to it! andychar
That is the start of next year meaning we have the chance to tick the 7 Countries off the list required to keep up the minimum of 7 per year to finish by 2060! How many players with dual nationality are left? Saw that Livramento is still rejecting, would he get in? Anyone else of note? Thanks for the kind words! Livramento picked up an England cap. I'm routinely rejected by several players at the moment, Anthony Gordon has had a monthly phone call for 10 years from me but he is still clinging onto hope England will call him up, ironically he isn't good enough to beat Munro to the punch but still I ask out of stubbornness and spite! There is a keeper at the moment who plays at the powerhouse of English Football that is Swindon. He would be my number 1 but keeps rejecting me. What I would like is if after the age of 30 they will at least entertain the idea instead of flat out refusing everytime. I asked somebody who was 37 at the time and retiring and he still said no. Surely at that point you have nothing to lose! andychar
Ok so on paper its not the hardest International Break we are ever going to have and this is reflected in... Murray Johnson keeps the gloves. 17 year old James Martin very likely to play his first game. Ray Syme not very likely at all. Nothing new here but quite solid. Wilkie likely to start and likely to end this break with a positive goals to cap ratio!

I enjoyed a few seasons with Chelsea on my Tod and won everything so it got boring quickly. Tried MLS and learnt very quickly it wasn't for me! Friendly Philippines (h) God its good to be back. I missed this save more than I thought I did coming back into it. The first Starting XI is going to be just players who are allowed to play the full 90! Housekeeping. We lost Hickey to injury and he was replaced by a returning Ryan Porteous. Martin does indeed come into the fold, helped by injury to Hickey. Its an unusual starting XI but this is because most of the starters have 45 minutes next to their name and I don't want to risk annoying anybody. Not this close to a World Cup! This should still be a cake walk. Ben Doak opens the scoring. Another Country should be ticked off. Doak turns provided. And then bags his second. Then turns provider again. Then has nothing to do with the 5th! Useless! Its as easy as expected. I've now got to dig out my old Spreadsheet with the Countries on it! 3 players on a hattrick. Doak grabs it first and he deserves it. Jobs a good one I'd say.
andychar
Friendly St Vincent and the Grenadines Luckily we have got the hard game out the way and we can look forward to the easy game of the two. Holy Forking Shirtballs! Just been told about this guy. Please Kilmarnock. Don't blow this. He will be called up next time. He will be played and he will just be 16. Any way back to the game at hand. Gilmour comes in to earn another cap and Jackson starts at the back. A few changes forced by the 45 minute rule! Nairn has taken full advantage of Munro not playing. Full advantage. And a stunner brings up the 15 minute hattrick. Doak continues his fine form. Sam Campbell picks up a rare goal. Nairn adds his 4th. Billy Gilmour sneaks another just before the break and we match our first half performance from the last game. Nairn's 5th. Gilmour from the spot. Woooo 10. Gilmour bags a hattrick. I can't keep up! Nairn with his 21st of the game. Don't know. Anybody remember our record? And breath. Nairn got 9.

andychar
Nations League Draw Well this was a surprise. I was gearing myself up for the World Cup Squad. Its a tough old Group. But...it gives us 2 chances to knock off big names. Germany and Italy. And technically we will go into the Group 2nd favourites! The rest of the Top Table looks like this... I think we got the Group of Death.
andychar
Right so the next Call Ups will be the World Cup Squad. This will be a good time to look at all the Youngsters I have to see how the future of the side is looking. I feel like I've given caps out left right and center to players just because they are young and half decent. How many of them actually have a future with the squad? Lets start with the Keepers. This has been a part of the side that has been average at best. I've lost track how many players I've stuck between the sticks. We potentially have one for the future and beyond. These are the guys with a shot of making the World Cup... I would wager this is the youngest 3 we have ever called up. Nobody under the age of 30 but with only 16 caps between them and they all coming from 1 player its an inexperienced line up going to Australia. I have half a mind to start and stick with Steven Campbell. Typical Johnson, waits his entire career, finally gets the gloves then the next Gordon Banks shows up. A wide range of ages and experience makes up the defence in this 55 man squad. I think I see James Martin and Scott Strang making it, the rest, could be filler. I've been waiting for Lewis O'Rourke to make that jump but so far it hasn't happened. I don't see many surprises here. This is such a frustrating position. Munro, Laidlaw, Nairn, Wilkie, Kamara, Lewis, Currie all good quality talent. I play 1 striker.
andychar
World Cup Squad As always 55 became 26 without a ball was kicked. So who made it onto the plane? 3 Keepers you know. No point reposting that screenshot. No defender will be making their debut this World Cup. But 2 18 year olds fills me with confidence, even though at this point they are both back ups. James Gemmell has come out of nowhere to be a good option at CM. He had a brilliant season and deserves his spot. O'Rourke, maybe the City thing has played in his favour. Billy Gilmour being left at home was the toughest decision I made. I wanted to give myself options. Knowing Munro can play out wide as well. Kamara, was a curiosity pick. He will play in a friendly. He could be amazing in the future. So that's the team. Only 5 players over the age of 30. 3 under 18 or under.
andychar
Sorry about this all of a sudden slow burner. Just can't seem to find the time at the moment. But here we are again. Friendly Guyana (h) Can't really remember making these fixtures but it has a sense of "go easy before the World Cup" feel to it. Its honestly been that long that I had to click on names to give me an idea of who they were. Apparently, I've decided to test you eye sight. Bonus points for naming all Subs. It isn't the strongest XI by far but it does have a good number of starters. They should be a breeze. Steady start but the breakthrough from Munro. Munro grabs his second. We will be wrapping him in cotton wool after this game. And his hattrick. Doak seems to be a player who has turned it up a notch recently (I think). Another goal here. Munro. Who else (well Doak obviously). Hunter grabs a goal before half time. Sorry out of practice, here's roughly the half time stats. Doak again staking a claim for a starting spot. Brennan with an absolute beauty. Laidlaw came on a halftime and bags his goal. Few disallowed goals but can't grumble. Another team ticked off. andychar
150 games. In the previous 149 games we have ticked off 83 Countries. Means it will take another 150 games and then some!
andychar
Friendly Curacao (h) This should be a nice relaxing game 150. 3 changes. Curutchet comes in at RB with youngsters O'Rourke and Kamara getting their first International Starts. Now I'm going to go make a drink during the half, so no goal by goal updates...please...try and hide the disappointment. Kamara in his full International Debut bagged the first 6. Lets all pretend they were all screamers. And typically that was that! One more friendly to go before the World Cup and another Country ticked off here. andychar
Just been looking at my Spreadsheet of Countries and it turns out I've not really touched much of Asia which is really ironic as our next match... Friendly Kenya (h) Yep. Africa. Certainly went for the easy pickings before the World Cup. Chile and Cameroon are my World Cup opponents for anybody who had forgotten. I had. A few starters, Campbell, Lowry and Hardwick. The rest back ups. Want to try and avoid injuries before the big day. Doak has been the one player I will really have to think about. Always outstanding. I've given all strikers a chance and they have all impressed. I mean its obviously Munro but still. Nice to know the back ups are firing as well. A flurry but since steady. Nobody got injured and we won. I'll call that a success.
andychar
World Cup 2034 Chile (n) Welcome to freezing cold Australia! Well...I mean...its their winter... I don't know why this surprised me much really. We are 11th in the World Chile are 52nd. Its the World Cup however and anything can happen. We are Day 2 so what happened on Day 1? The resolution has changed on my laptop for starters! Used to be able to fit them in 1 screenshot! England started horribly good but its only New Zealand. The hosts were dismantled and I'll call the Venezuela win a shock. This is our Strongest XI. Gemmell gets the nod ahead of Turnbull, McGurk gets the nod ahead of Curutchet cos his name is just easier to spell and I would have been foolish not to give Doak his start. And no its not Marcelo Salas. Trust me, I'm as disappointed as you are. I'm going to start the World Cup by saying...I'm not expecting any retirements after this Tournament... We have a goal chalked off on the 12th minute. VAR was checked but even I thought it was Offside and I'm as salty as they come. VAR checked again but this one stands. Dylan Munro. Welcome to Australia. Good first half performance. Something to build on. Ben Doak. He is in the International form of his life and he now has a World Cup goal to add to his CV. We take contrlo but Chile have been coming into it more and more. Icing? Or a statement. Lowry gets on the end of a looping cross to head home. That's why we were favourites! We were first up so the rest of the day looked like this... Ukraine are a good side so Argentina will be relieved. France with a good win and Ecuador with a late goal to grab a shocking point over Holland.
andychar
World Cup 2034 We get a bit of a breather so lets keep you up to date. We aren't getting many shock winners but there are some shock draws that could have ripples down the Knockout Stages. Wales with a good win and Spain with an easy win, much like us. Italy, Brazil and Denmark made to work very hard for their wins. Portugal easy win against minor opposition. No offence Syria. The second set of fixtures start with some Countries sweating on a result. I wasn't doing another screenshot just for the sake of Belgium scorers! The hosts are out! Morocco and Poland progress and battle for top spot. New Zealand keep their hopes alive and now hope England beat Jamaica by more than 5 goals. A normal way to qualify of course. Venezuela qualify top. Leaving Senegal and Croatia to battle for the last place. Belgium are comfortably through. Mexico and UAE will battle for qualification in the last game of the Group. Our Group play the next day, will we go through without kicking a ball? Another other than a Chile win will see this happen. We are made to wait, but isn't it better when its in our own hands. Argentina are through as winners. Honduras v Ukraine for a place in the knockouts. Ecuador are through but not guarenteed as winners. Suirname will face Holland. France the same, Ivory Coast v Qatar in that finale. Chuffing Spain and their 10 thousand scorers! USA and Wales are both through from Group I and face each other for the Top Spot. Germany go through and Nigeria will play Costa Rica for the final place. Spain breeze into the 2nd Round. South Africa v South Korea for the other spot. Norway through. Iran v Mali in the final game there. Didn't think this would happen mid tournament but I'll take it. Quick somebody get the President of Mozambique FA on the phone! Italy, Brazil and Portugal all finish top of their Groups. Uruguay win and are likely through unless Saudi Arabia can shock Denmark. Our game is coming up. andychar
World Cup 2034 Cameroon (n) A point and we are through as Top. Easy as that. A win to tick them off as a Country. No surprises here. In my mind, we should be winning. We are now 8th in the World and they are 33rd. The colder the better! Before we played 4 groups would finish. Both teams were already through but Poland ease past Morocco and take the Group. No worries for England. Jamaica get through based on the fact their loss was better than the New Zealanders. New Zealand needed Mexico's score! Croatia left it late to settle it. Mexico absolutely destroyed UAE and, as is custom, will be a dangerous 2nd Round side. We once again play first on our day, lets get this done. Same starting XI as the 3-0 win against Chile. No point changing it really. Once again, I'm going to make a brew. See you at Half Time. Well. Lowry now has 3 goals in 2 games so far. Unexpected star of the World Cup for us so far. Long may it continue. Dangerous scoreline 2-0. I'd be silly to start resting players as early as Half Time here. Not joking. The second I took off our 3 best players to rest! As a red and green colour blind person whenever Cameroon attack I have a seizure trying to read the writing. What a game Alex Lowry. Took us on his shoulders and ran. Icing? OR A STATEMENT! Doak, cos he couldn't let Lowry have all the fun. They nicked a goal right at the death but not to worry. Good win. It means we top the Group and Chile go through. No surprises here really. Another new Country to tick off and another African Country. Glad Ivory Coast didn't win by more otherwise it could have been France!

andychar
World Cup 2034 Some more Groups to wrap up before we get to the serious business. USA topes the Group with both teams already through before a ball was kicked. Costa Rica get through winless and should be easy pickings in the next Round. South Korea won the battle of the Souths to book a place in the next round while all South Africa are doing is booking a plane ticket home. Iran also did what they needed to do but could force the Top spot. The Group Stages ended with 4 more games. Tunisia qualify based on the fact they scored 2 goals and Japan only the 1. Harsh but thems the rules. Ireland bounce back from opening day defeat to secure their place. Saudi crash out while Syria surprise Ghana and bag a place in the 2nd Round. The 2nd Round looks like this... Tie of the Round hsa to be Uruguay v Portugal on paper. USA v Costa Rica could be spicy. Lets see if we get any shocks.
