[FM21] Eating Macaroons - Attempt to dethrone PSG - JC BONIFACIO

Welcome to my French save.

Giving that PSG has all the money in the world and still can only dominate Ligue 1, also recent acquisition of Messi, I want to cause them a bit of an upset.
I haven't managed a team in France since probably FM2010 where I took Bordeaux to Champions League Glory, so this will be quite new to me. 

 

I have loaded plenty of leagues to try and scoop some nice prospects, but we will start in 6th tier of France in Regional 1 league, so it will take some time until we can get some silverware and challenge PSG for the title. This is probably my last save until FM22 comes out so hopefully you can join me for my journey. Essentially by the end of the save I want to be most reputable team in France. 

I haven't decided yet what team I will manage but will update very soon.

A lot of greyness there, We have one player and the rest is grayed out. Same for reserves and U19

 

 

Oggiano is our only player, Amazingly looks like he was at Montepellier once upon a time. :O Can't say he played a lot of football for them though lol

We are predicted to be 7th. I hope we can do it with 1 player 

  

 

 

Finances

We have not even £1000 in the bank. I hope it will be enough for water for players and maybe renting a bus to go to games. But our scouting budget is hugeeeee

PRE_SEASON
Because we only had 1 player in the team I had to get a lot of freebies to get our team. Some are better then other however they are mostly Italians We had a massive scouting budget of 37k so I bought Central Europe package to increase the number of free players that wanted to join us from which they were mainly Italians. We are paying them big fat 0 so I don't mind having a big squad. They are mainly young players, I don't expect much improvement from them as we are an amateur club. 

 

Henrico Henrietta Is on of our best players that we managed to find. Decent passing and vision four our level. I expect him to be on of our lead players.

 

 

Finances

We have made a chunk of change from the friendlies we played. Mainly from gate recipts but also from a little merch. And we have sold 65 season tickets  

 

 

League Prediction 
The preview has changed slightly. We are now predicted to finish 2nd behind Gaz Ajaccio 2. Them along with AS Furiani and GC Lucciana are the only Semi-Pro teams in our league, and they are the 2nd teams from clubs in upper leagues. 

 

 

Friendlies

Played some friendlies to get a bit of tactic familiarity and cohesion. But the latter is not going to be easy to establish.

Indeed, not having managed in France for a while I think it is quite a challenge to stop their dominance giving the superior budgets they have. However my first aim is to reach Ligue 1 though  this can take a bit before I start challenging PSG.

French Regional 1 - September 2020

We had a good start to the season with 2 convincing wins and a draw from first 3 games.  With the draw we could have got more, we have lost 2 goals in the first half and we managed to pull back the draw from FC Balagane. They seem to be a good team and we are equal on points. The main contenders will be Gaz Ajaccio 2 who are one of few Semi Pro teams, however our convicing win against Lucciana (other semi pro team) gives me hope that we can challenge Gaz 

After 3 games we sit top of the table by the goal difference. 

 

Luciano Garolfo has been exceptional so far. scoring 4 in 3 from left wing.

October 2020

Regional 1

In Octover we only had one league game which we manage to scrape through to win. We wasted a lot of chances but we managed to score the final goal and we are still equal points with Balagane and Ajaccio.

 

Coupe de France

We have been drawn against a team from National 3 which a league above us. We haven't been fully dominated and we had our chances but they were better team in general. We had to chase the score all game and were close in drawing.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder what we get with our facilities being awful. Anyone that we get that improves our starting 11 would be good.

Regional 1 - Nov & Dec 2020

We have been doing quite well so far. And we find oureselves in 2nd place with a game in hand over the 3rd place team and yet to play the top team. We have suffered our first defeat against Bastelicaccia after very even game, however we have been very unlucky with converting our chances. However I want to point out a game against Jeunesse Etolle Biguglia where we have completely FM'ed them. 4 goals from 4 shots have been very very lucky as it could have ended the other way around. 

Also we are very bad in talking pens. We have scored only 1 out of 4 penalties taken which is a worry. In the last game agains Nebbiu we had 3 pens and converted only 1. 

 

As mentioned before, we find ourselves in 2nd place with game in hand over 3rd placed team and yet to play against Ajaccio who are first. It is going to be really tough as they are semi-pro team and are smashing everyone everywhere. I am not sure if they are getting promoted as it is the 2nd team of Ajaccio. If they are we are in trouble as it will be difficult to overthrow them. If not we are currently sitting in promotion place going to winter break.

Regional 1 - January 2021

Mixed results this month. We have lost to Ajaccio after very even game and then Balagane. Ajaccio slipped up before our Balagane game and we didn't use the occassion to go top and got absolutely smashed. All in all we lost to both teams that we are challenging for promotion. Not a good month.  On  the other note we have missed couple more pens 

 

 

After pretty disappointing January, we find ourselves on 4th with 2 points off top with 10 games remaining. It looks like top 4 teams are the ones challenging for promotion and we have game agains Bastelicaccia and Ajaccio left. Both of those teams have smashed us in first game runs.

YOUTH INTAKE DAY

 

We had our youth intake day, and it's not that bad as expected.  We have 5 players with 5 star potential, out of which I will straight away use (01d)Kevin Durand * in my first team rotation. 

We have 2 4.5 star potential players and 3 4 star potential players and one of which is GK which we need. 

 

 

 

(01a) Ange Pietri is a left winger with low det. I fail to see him realizing his potential. Good dribbler for that age, definitely space to improve but giving our facilities are crap he can only improve by playing games. 

 

(01b) Lamine Sane*  young Center back, poor heading as he is quite short. Hopefully he will grow in few years as he is still 15. poor physicals to make impact at the moment. 

 

 

(01c) Boris Saint-Maxim*  . Nice first touch and techinque, great teamwork and work rate, but he is unambitious. I think that the aggression can get him a lot of reds as well since we play very hard football.

 

 

 

(01d) Kevin Durand *  2.5 star current ability, very nice technique and great determination. I will be rotating him in the first team as I believe he can be an asset to us in near future. 

 

 

(01e) Pierre-Louis Crepin *. quite rounded player with poor first touch. A long way for him if he wants to realise the potential 

 

 

(01j)Gaetan Istria . I think he can fight to be 2nd choice keeper as it is right now. Despite being unambitious I hope that he can improve a bit. But lets compare him to our first choice

 

 

 

So Comparing the young GK against our main starter only Physicality and Distribution stand out to be worse. Others areas are very competetive.

Regional 1 - Feb & March 2021

Great two unbeaten months for us. I have been playing with tactics against SUD and Ghisonaccia hence the results. I am pleased with our performance against Bastelicaccia ! We smashed them and are in strong position for last 5 games of the season. We find ourselves 1 point off top with 1 game in hand. We are still yet to play against  Ajaccio 2  who seem to have dropped off form a bit. The game against them is the last game in the calendar so is it going to be decider?

Regional 1 - April & May 2021

3 wins in 4 games for us in April and May. We lost to Biguglia who are 5th, but luckily for us Balagane also lost to Ajaccio 2 at the same time what meant we haven't lost our game in hand. As expected last game against Ajaccio 2 is the decider if we can go up or not. Also for 2 games we didn't have Oggiano and our striking potential have been substantially lower. That's why probably we lost 0-2 as we wasted loads of chances.

Regional 1 - June 2021

We have done it. We have smashed Ajaccio to get us the title and promotion !!! what a game, we absolutely dominated them ! Lets hope we can go semi-pro after promotion

End of 20/21 Season Summary

Regional 1 - We have started really well, but I had some doubts in the middle phase that we have been losing to other contenders. We changed a tactic a little and managed to pull it back to win promotion on the last day ! 

 

Coupe de France - It was quick exit for us however we played a team from league above. 

 

Full Squad after season

 

Olivier Oggiano have been really exceptional for us scoring 23 goals in 21 games. we did really miss him when he was injured at the end of the season

 

 

Luciano Garofalo has put up really good performances. especially at the beginning of the season when we played him as IW on the left. Unfortunately he is going to leave us at the end of the season.  

 

 

 

Be has been playing alongside Oggiano and has been performing really well however he really lacks consistency and cannot take pens. I think he missed like 5 out of 6 he taken,

Finances The big dip was due to our scounting, but we managed to pull back from friendlies we played in between games.

Thanks ! Yeah I think 4.5K wage budget is quite decent, especially that we will be giving semi-pro contracts which shouldn't be expensive. I feel that team rebuild is needed tho to try and avoid being relegated. We had couple of players poached, especially our starter on left wing so we are left with no left winger at the moment as our backup has also been poached.....

PRE SEASON

We are before our first game in new league. So far we have played quite a few friendlies and we have made few transfers 

League Preview  we are expected to finish 13th however there was a point we were 9th. 

 

Finances We are negative on finances but I had get the highest scouting package so that we could make some transfer moves. We didn't go crazy on wages using approx 20% of it.

Antonio Capasso  has been our first choice starter last season. As many he has been poached and we couldn't stop it. 

 

Pedro Barcelos  has been our main GK last season but we didn't have anyone better at his position so yeah. We are not going to miss him 

 

Pietro Di Pancrazio  Also our first choice from last season, also couldn't stop him as we have offered him a contract but he took his pick. 

 

Other players that left were mainly fringe or rotation players.

Demain Popovici  Our new pacy center back. really good defensive technicals, I also like his pace, will be handy especially with balls over our defence.

Ecan Saiz -  Our new first choice left winger who will replace Garofalo. I think this is really good pickup for our potential. 

 

Doran Gilis is our new first choice keeper. I think it is huge upgrade from Pedro. Definitely can be one of our best players this season. 

 

 

Silas Cottier is our new right back option, I also think that this is the upgrade to what we had. Can also fill out the left back position until we find nominal lefty.

National 3 - August 2021

 

I don't know what happened in the first game..... Seriously I don't. We have had such a huge conversion rate of chances we created, its crazy. US Marseille are predicted to finish 9th and Marignane Giniac  who we also comfortably beat, are predicted to finish 6th . Can we challenge for promotion this season after such a good start ? I doubt it but you never know.

National 3 - Sept & Nov 2021

 

After not bad start we had a rough patch of games. Our squad has been raided by other teams and players left for free, even to leagues in lower division. This has limited our rotation possibilities, but also our opponents were better, playing Monaco, Nice and Ajaccio 2nd teams. We currently sit 7th. 5 points above relegation and 10 points off 2nd place. 

 

 

Coupe de France 

 

We had not a bad time, We reached round 6 of the cup. Beat the team in National 2, league above us, and then lost to leaders of National 2 league.

National 3 - November & Decmber 2021 

A better set of results, 7 points from 5 games before going into winter break. Good that we managed to pickup the points. We are 7 points off relegation zone and I hope that we can remain mid table until the end of the season. With our form we cannot expect to try and get to promotion places. At the moment 2nd team gets promoted as AS Monaco 3 cannot get promoted but we are 15 points off it. With 4 points off 4th place, I think this is the highest we can achieve this season, giving that I bring some quality players over transfer window.

National 3 - January 2022 

 

A disappointing January. We have been edged by 1 goal in 2 games and conceding late draw in the second. Honestly we should have won all of those games but we couldn't convert the chances. Then against Lucciana, I have changed tactic, to try and change something around. It was  a crazy game we went 2.0 up in the first half, in the second half they made it even and then we scored 90th minute winner. We find ourselves on 9th, 8 points clear from relegation. With 11 games left I hope we can avoid relegation. 

 

Transfer Window

So our team has been raided throughout first half of the season with our first team players leaving on free. I have dug into the transfer window and have managed to bring some players in which hopefully will help us remain in the league. The only issue is that they are actually earning money now so our finances are rather bad. 

 

OUTS

As you see, from the players here at least 3 were first team players. I am also shocked that Doran Gills have left us, only being 6 months at the club. This just proves that our reputation is rather low and players leave as if they were fleeing sinking boat  

 

 

INS

 

 

Fabio Occhioni - He was rather a panic move, when we lost Sozzani, to give us some options in center mid. He didn't play a lot since joined. 

 

 

Mohamed - He is our new left back. So far after we lost first team lb and backup lb, we have had to play RB on the left. Really happy with this pickup. 

 

Jean-Baptiste Baraglioli - Our scouts found this one, he will be rather played as a rotation/backup to fill in gaps. especially that Oggiano is injured. 

 

 

Alessandro Sozzani  - we picked him back on loan as he struggled to make impact at FC Bastia-Borgo

 

 

Haider Sattar -  our new first choice keeper. He is a bit of a downgrade from Golia, but there weren't anyone better out there to sign, or they wanted £600 per appearance. 

 

Enrico Gatti - He is a backup option for Sattar. If Sattar will drop performace I will give him a go. I think he is well rounded but definitely lacks physicality comparing to Sattar. 

 

 

 

Sebastian Bohac - This to extend our options in middlefield. Good physicals for his age and our level.

 

Shai Belhassen -  He can cover few positions, what is something unexpected in the players we currently have. Good determination. I think he can do business for us.

 

Adrian Duchnowski - He is another center back option. I think heading and jumping reach will help to wind headers, and we have been struggling a bit in that sense recently, He is really slow but I am dropping the defensive line, so hopefully will not be a big issue.

Yeah... finances are really bad. We should be able to even this out at the end of the season.

Not really golden generation as expected  we have however 2x 4.5PA star players which might get somewhere if they develop correctly. 

 

(02A) Vincent Bicchieray - really good passing and first touch for his age. He could get quite good if he improves. But giving that we are semi-pro i doubt that he will get much better.

 

(02b) Eddy Germain - I like his technical ability for his age however the physicals are really bad. He has good determination whilst being Unambitious.

Nope. I would rather not. I understand this will be tough, but I would rather remain at the current club. I might think about it if I get offered a job in another club in Corsica, as part of my goal is to bring glory to this little island.

National 3 - Feb-Apr 2022

 

So I had a game crash after Lucciana game. When I reloaded last save it turned out that I only missed one game. I replayed Lucciana game and we have drawn it.... Anyway. We have few weeks break now before last 3 games of the season. Our form is bad. We played top 4 teams in the league (Monaco, Ajaccio, Nice, RC Grasse). And we have tumbled.  I have changed the way we play before RC Grasse game and we managed to win that, I had to get a target man in the name of Nico Beckstein and our game improved much. However we have been smashed by Ajaccio. 

We find ourselves in 11th with 4 points ahead of relegation spot. And we have a bit easier schedule ahead. we play

 Villefranche who 15th with only 3 points to their name

FC Rousset who are 5th

AS Furiani who are 7th. 

I am hoping to smash Villefranche and then try to steal some points from other two.

End of 21/22 Season Summary

National 3

We ended up finish 11th which is what board wanted us to do and avoid relegation. After amazing first 2 games of the season what got my hopes up, we have tumbled down the table and we couldn't get ourselves back. We are far far off the top where first two teams have approx 20 point advantage over 3rd. 

Coupe de France

I am happy with our performance in the cup. We reached 6th round and we managed to beat a side from higher division in 5th round. We met board expectations but will have to put the cup aside and concentrate on the league more next season. 

 

Squad

Olivier Oggiano has been by far our best player of the season. Scoring 20 goals, no one else was even close of reaching double figures.

Hi Thanks ! 

I used this from Steam Workshop Update Régional 1 France #R1MO (level 6) 

The also have dbs up to Tier 8, but that would have been overkill for me.

S3 - Season Preview

So new season. I want to forget about the previous one. Also I will not be showing players unless they actually are worth something. At the moment the turnaround of players is so huge as I cannot keep anyone. 
 

Transfers

I worked a bit in transfer window to get at least two decent players per position. I hope that they will perform. 

4 players left us 3 of which were first team players. But I think I managed to find decent replacements.

I do expect some more players to be poached as this is quite a standard atm

 

Board Expectations

We need to fight to avoid relegation. I would like to get upper half of the table but we will see. 

In cup the board wants 6th round as usual. I will not be concentrating on that. 

 

 

Finances

Finances are quite bad. But I noticed that most teams in our league have 'Insecure' status. I am not overly worried. 

 

League Preview

We are expected to be 13th, with 19.00 odds. I treat that as an improvement as last season we were 31.00

We played loads of friendlies to allow new team to gel in and get the dynamics up a bit.
