Add Country to Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana

Hello,

I'm making a mod that adds a new country to South America using Ireland pre-1922. The issue I'm having is that I don't know how to add this country to the continental competitions.

Any one may have an idea?

Or better, if you want to do it yourself and don't charge too much, I'm even willing to pay

Normally, the country should participate automatically after 2-3 years, which is how it is in Europe.

Coefficients are fixed in South America, so there is no evolution in the number of countries that can play in the continental competitions, nor there's a dynamic increase or decrease in the places allocation per country. In other words, Brazil and Argentina will always see about half of the clubs in their top division qualify for continental competitions. Also and as far as Europe goes, most of the international competitions are made to qualify the best 54 or 55 confederations in the UEFA instead of every country (which excludes Crimea for example); but that's another topic.

In other words, you have to redo most of the system pertaining international competitions. And not just "edit": redo due to weird dependencies between competitions (the FIFA Confederations Cup has dependencies everywhere) and/or rules that cannot be edited due to being hard-coded (like UEFA European Championships). This is also why you don't see too many projects such as Iron Curtain databases, where you add or remove multiple countries from one or multiple confederations. Generally you will see people replacing a country. Or in the case of some Monegasque database, it works because Monaco doesn't partake in any UEFA competition, so it lives in its own bubble and doesn't break anything (much like Crimea).

So, basically, there's no way to add a new country to South America? (Because redoing the entire competition seems unreal given what you say).

Basically, there's no way that I can think of that doesn't involve redoing both the Libertadores and Sudamericana at the very least.  @Carlito85 (who has to be the person I ping the most recently) most likely could confirm it.

I'm pretty sure it would require rebuilding the entire competition and adding a new nation to the rankings that way

Let's say, if I have a World Champions League style competition in one fmf file and I create a new nation via defunct nation in another fmf file. How do I add the new nation to participate in my World Champions league, since both are different files?

That may be a tricky one, because the World Champions League competition has to know that your custom nation in the other file exists. Your best bet would be to merge the 2 files into a separate new file, or for you to build the new nation inside of the World Champions League file so the competition can find the nation you want.

Hum... then I have to ponder what to do, but likely going with making a fantasy of existing nation.

don't waste your time even when you rebuild everything its not the same because alot of things are hardcoded. 

Even if you see the options in the editor alot of them doesn't work, I waste months trying to fix it for North America
