Can You Buy A World Cup?

Thats the question I will hopefully answer in the save.

In the year 2015 Qatar tried to buy a handball squad to win the world cup.

The managed to get runners-up.

I will try to transition this in football.

But not with Qatar due to registration, rules and kinda lack of money in the league.

Yes, after 3 years a player can apply for a qatarian passport, but with the 3/5 foreign rules its kinda slow.

I will try it with Saudi Arabia.

Simply rules...7 foreign players are allowed, no split between Asian or not Asian.

I choose the 1x time league winners Al-Fateh. (back in 2012/13)

Mid table and lots of room to grow.

Also I took over the national team.

I never really managed a national team, so lets see how it goes.

6th placed asian team in the world rankings.

5 years it takes to get a Saudi Arabian passport. (qatar only 3)

I loaded the big asian nation. ( I forgot Australia, so i put the quickly in).

The big 5 and a couple of league, where I want to get my players.

I think of Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and France.

Why?

Cuz they got a really big talent pool and not everyone can play for the national team.

And ofcause, since I cant only rely on foreign players, I will heavily invest in the youth.

So lets see if this is possible.

Money is there, but not much transfer budget.

Overview September 2020

The AI managed to get into the final phase of the WC qualification.

We got 2 strong team in Japan and South Korea, so a 3rd place is possible.

Maybe we can qualify over the playoffs, but this is still far away.

Call Ups October 2020

Before I can start with Al-Fateh, its time for the national team.

Two debuts with Machado and Manoel.

Machado will be the 2nd best CB and Manoel cuz I like his workrate.

October 2020

First game in charge and the first win.

We beat 114th ranked Philippines with 3:1.

Sadly Al-Muwallad got injured...

His replacement in the squad against Jordan was Al-Ammar.

I hope he can be one of the big ones in the next years.

Due to Al-Ammar I changed formation and we played even better against Jordan.

Not only this was a big win to get back in the mix for the top 3 spots.

Then...

Japan dropped some points!

I wasnt expecting this.

We did some great transfer business already.

I hope, I can sell 1-2 more players and everything went perfect.

We beat a big team in Al-Hilal, we were pretty solid in the back against Gomis, Vietto and Giovinco.

But he only one sub apperance after his injury, so he took that as an answer.

Transfer & Squad Overview - Summer 2020

The goal was for me to reduce the wages, improve the team and make some money.

IN

Batna was already here, the rest are mine.

So we payed almost nothing!

And I tried to follow the plan, but if I see a bargain, I take it.

Ruben Oliveira is the direct replacement for Saadane.

Made some money and cut the wages in half, since he was on 14k a week.

Khodari and Eid are just here to fill the squad with some Saudis.

Then the loans coming in flying.

Ali is the partner of Oliveira in the midfield, he is a Chelsea academy player.

The much needed improve at left back is Matheus Bahia.

He is an absolut bargain. 21 y/o, brazilian, tons of potential.

We got a 230k option to buy.

The new Saudi international Ruben Machado would transfer listed.

After two games in the national team, I knew he could improve our defense.

And the best part is, he is not foreign.

I wanted a sweeper keeper, so I looked for options.

Yea....I saw Lucas Zidane and insta made an offer.

Sadly he got not much left in his potential, but he does the job pretty good.

No option to buy, but he got a 725k release clause.

On deadline day I made one more transfer in the ex-wonderkid Alen Halilovic.

He is on a low wage and good enough for Saudi Arabia.

He got roughly 8 months to go.

If we qualify for the WC 2022, he would probably be a starting winger or striker for us.
