Hi there.  If you can provide examples of sites you'd use in the Netherlands as well as which sites from the UK you know will ship to you and I'll have a look.

hi Kevhamster

I was only expecting spec recommendations, so you are going above and beyond.  some links below,

Bol.com

coolblue.nl

https://www.mediamarkt.nl/

https://www.megekko.nl/

but as mentioned Spec also fine. e.g. Intel vs AMD (and type), Graphics card, Ram etc

This is a fantastic deal looking at the specs v price.

thanks, will the rtx-3050 be good enough for FM25 with unity?

My assumption is that it will be, but that's based on guesswork.  I have asked SI for expected system requirements and they don't have an answer yet!

However, if you want to look at something beefier, here's one with the RTX 4050.  I'd be shocked if this wasn't good enough!

https://www.megekko.nl/product/2057/937822/Laptops/MSI-Thin-GF63-12VE-012NL-Thin-gaming-laptop

(For comparison, the 4050 is stronger than the 1660 Super in my desktop that handles Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft Flight Simulator!).

great, so I'll add base 4050 to the spec.

Processor speed wise these cheaper ones are all i7 2.7ghz, the next ones up on the lists are 5ghz - work the extra?

I pay less attention to clock speeds, but if you can provide a link of the ones you're referring to, I can do a comparison. :)

Doesn't look like a huge difference, but they are definitely a bit of an upgrade.

Slightly below the 13th gen i7 in terms of CPU power. however with the price difference I think this one actually represents better value for money.

Looking for a gaming laptop under £550 - ideally it'll run FM24 with ease, manage the 3D graphics etc, but be capable of also something like Cities Skyline? Not really sure of the exact specs I'd be looking for for that.

Some earlier thread recs look good, just wondering if there is anything specific folks would know about that fit this request. Ta for any help!

Cities Skylines 2 is currently renowned for needing very high specs to run well and in all honesty you may struggle without considerably increasing the budget, at least until the optomisation patches come out.

This refurbished one in theory meets the minimum specs, but I'm really not sure how well it'll do with Cities Skylines 2.  It will be fine for FM24.  You may also want to look at increasing the SSD to the 480GB one:

Thanks Kev, appreciate you taking the time to have a look.

Seen second hand about the problems Cities Skyline has been having, I honestly think I'd only be bothered playing the first for the time being, despite its age. Just something to while away the time really. Ta!

I missed that you'd just said Cities Skylines and not 2!   The one I linked would be absolutely fine for the original.

It's very hard to find brand new gaming laptops less than £600, so the recommendation I gave still applies.  :)

Morning, my son wants a laptop for Xmas to play FM24 but will also be required for college work. We are on a tight budget around £250...Happy for refurbished. Any suitable ideas please

This is the best I can find.  It's likely he'll need to use lower settings for the graphics, but the game will definitely play on this:

Hi that's great. I have also found these. They have £20% off so would bring them into budget. Are any of these better?

Hi... nice find there.  Go with the top one as it has the best CPU and integrated graphics of all of them.

Avoid the last one for sure as it's a Chromebook, which won't run FM at all.

There is this one instead which is slightly more, but still decent.

Hi, im not looking for a laptop for FM as I play on my PC. I am however looking for a laptop for my son. All he will want to play on is minecraft and other games like that (hopefully at full gfx). Just wondered if you could recommend one in the range of £300-£500.

Does really depends on what other games, but this one would be ok if the games aren't too graphically demanding:

Hi,

I'm looking for a daily laptop which can also play FM24 at the best level I can get. I watch Netflix etc, listen to Spotify and would like to do UNI/College work. I live in the UK & my budget is £400 - £475.

Would be really appreciative if someone could help me out? I have no idea what I’m looking at!

Cheers

Looking to invest in a laptop that will also (hopefully) be sufficient for FM25 in a couple of years. Budget is around £800 but I can stretch if required.

Will this suffice? Or should I wait till Black Friday?

Please feel free to recommend something better :)

Given how close we are I would wait. Look out for Intel 12th gen or AMD 6000 series processors (ie last years models) as I think they are likely to be the best deals. I've already seen an R7 6800/3070ti for around £1000 so I don't think it's unrealistic to hope for a 3060/4060 equipped one more in your price range, when discounted.

That's weird, the info you posted previously suggested a completely different configuration. I would expect FM to work fine on a 10th gen i3 (albeit maybe not brilliantly) but it might be a different story on an AMD pre-Ryzen chip which is what the A10 is.

As Gangor has said, I can't see any reason why the game would be incompatible with the system.  When you posted the previous specs I wondered if perhaps you were on Windows 8 or earlier.  I'd suggest putting a ticket in to Sega support.

Edit: I can see it is the A10 after all - that is still higher than the minimum requirements and you're on Windows 10.  Although I'd not expect the game to run quickly on this system, it should still be compatible.  Definitely put a ticket into Support and see if they can help.

Thanks for the advice!

I decided to uninstall the game this morning and install again, you'll not believe that it worked this time 🙈😂

Cheers guys

I'd go with the one I linked due to that having a dedicated graphics card, which could well be needed when FM25 comes along.

Thanks so much man, out of interest how much better is the one for £550 you linked rather than the one you originally linked for around £400?

It's difficult to quantify, but you have a better CPU and a dedicated graphics card so it's an all-round improvment.

Out of the three, I'd still go for the one I linked.

If you don't mind going for a refurbished model, I'd look at this one: https://www.laptopstation.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3-6th-generation-ryzen-5-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-nvidia-rtx-3050-graphics-15-6-fhd-screen-gaming-laptop

Is the refurbished one much better? I know people regularly buy refurbished but I am quite wary, probs being stupid lol

It has a better CPU and graphics card, as well as 16GB RAM.

You do get a warranty with this site, and over the last few years I've bought three laptops from them myself.
