You're so close to making that final step, and I think next season could well be it with your young players improving. Just a small request, could you put your European progress for each season in Bennett's career tracker? Transfers I wanted to keep the squad the same but board decided to sell the World's best goalkeeper for 32mil to Brighton. I was furious as I could not even protest the transfer. Oh how cruel you can be FM! Nevermind, next year will be ours, this goes on me as I underestimated OM and already saw us in the finals. I will be honest, after we lost to FCP at home I have not had my hopes up but we played fantastic in the away leg and absolutely battered them. We were given Atletico in semifinals and we beat them 3-0 in first leg so hopefully we will not **** up and we will reach our first Champions League finals with Basaksehir! Our drop in form continued as we lost in Turkish Cup final against Bursaspor about 50 unbeaten games in a row. Ischuk found Serhat with one milimetre cross and Serhat Akbulut headed it in through Delgado. Man Utd made it 1-1 from counter attack in 55th minute, Ruiz's great pass found Verhulst who put the ball in with fantastic shot. The game looked like it will reach the penalties but Ischuk had other ideas as he score with a nice shot from about 20 yards and sent whole Istanbul celebrating! scarp Posted August 18, 2019 Author Share Posted August 18, 2019 Red Star FC (2033/34) Since I joined the club relatively late at 21st of July (Previous manager Saul - yes, that Saul, departed the club at 13th of July) I might not be able to sign a lot of players this summer and I will have to play with what I currently have. Goalkeepers Ethan Dupuy should be our number one goalie but he is at best Ligue 2 level player. Defenders Our best defender is only a loanee from PSG and there is no way he ever joins us on full contract. We have three left full-backs and Guenouche will most likely be the one to go, as he is already 33 years old. Yameogo and Touré look to be our starting full-backs. As centre-backs go, Naud will be accompanied by El Amrani and we have few decent options for cover. I brought Menga from our u19 side and hope to give him some minutes this season. Midfielders We will play with one striker up-front most likely but the question is if we play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Tressy and Olivier are great talents but I really do not see a point of them playing for us as they're not world beaters yet and we can never buy them out. But I might keep them for rotation. El Kabir looks good and will probably lock MC spot. We are missing a true quality DM though, so we will most likely play without him. Daccord will most likely lock left winger position but we are missing on anyone suitable for right winger.. so yeah, I will play Olivier there until I sign someone good. Club's financial situation got even worse - forcing me to sell our captain. We had no money to spend and no money to offer to free players. In League Cup quarterfinals we faced Bordeaux away and we won even though they were the better team. Next we faced AS Monaco in semifinals and that was the end of our miracle run - even though we played very well and only lost 0-1. We got a lot of money for our miracle run and together with the money we got for Touré we are close to be back in black. Our league form continued to be real good but so was Brest's and Nice's. In the end of the month we also advanced in French Cup. This really crippled us as I had few free players in mind that could strenghten us. Thank god! Transfers We signed Capoue-Nestor on free from Cagliari and he will fight for starting spot. We sold our captain Touré to Göztepe for 1.8mil. We also extended loans of Naud, El Kabir and Olivier to the end of next season with some optional buy clauses for El Kabir and Olivier (we probably will not be able to pay them but what if). Transfers I had to let Yameogo go as he did not want to extend his contract in January, as an replacement I signed Novikov for free but truth be told - both our full-backs will be our worst positions this season, I just could not get anyone decent to move to us, they always chose different team. D'Errico comes for a fee of 1.6mil as I took a huge gamble because we will pay it next year as we had only around 400k for transfers this year. Jean-Pierre Tressy came from Nantes after very succesful loan spell last season and I was surprised with the low price. Oberle and Sawadogo will hopefully play bigger part in the future.
