We lost twice to Galatasaray and therefore our road though Turkish Cup is ended. We beat Besiktas, draw against Galatasaray and lose to Fenerbahce in league, but we were the better team in all three games. scarp Posted July 12, 2019 Author Share Posted July 12, 2019 May 2025 Even though we only drew against Gazisehir in the last game of the season, Fenerbahce lost away to Kayserispor and we reached 2nd place meaning we will play CL football next season (third qualifying phase). I am very happy with these results, especially in last three months it all clicked. We need better striker though for next season as Begraoui can't score for ****. scarp Posted July 13, 2019 Author Share Posted July 13, 2019 July 2025 Decent pre-season. We managed to sell Begraoui with 2mil possible profit which is great since he did really bad for us. We signed one great turkish youngster and three players on free, All of those should be starting. To replace Begraoui we bought two young players with great amount of potential - Cordella and Eriksson. Eriksson currently has scored 5 goals in 9 games for his national team so I am very hopeful. We now have decent money (18mil) to spend on transfers but I really do not want to rush things when I do not see a player who can fit. Champions League One year ago I played against them in Champions League finals, now we meet them in third qualifying phase. I do not think we will manage to advance. First things first, we beat Porto 5-2 away and then 4-1 at home! Next on the menu were Lokomotiv Moscow and they were way better than FCP but we still managed to control the games and move to groups! In the league we beat Fenerbahce, drew to Galatasaray and won two games against bottom-tier teams. Splendid month! Transfers We needed a better goalie so we bought Plizzari who was number 2 goalkeeper in Chelsea. Also we needed more depth and quality on centre-back position so we decided to spend some money on Nail Özbalta. CL Draw We will meet CSKA Moscow! Very tough group though. Nice. Thanks Kaan! I may swap teams if I feel like but currently I am having fun with Basaksehir, actually we are doing better than I expected - especially in CL. It will be again a long journey for the CL trophy but hopefully we can manage in a decade or something. I did not really mind which club to take in Istanbul beforehand (I actually did not even know that Basaksehir are from Istanbul) but for some other cities it will be harder as I do not want to manage certain teams (Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham in London or PSG in France). You're right - most of these players do not have the potential to become a Champions League winners - unlike in CSKA where we already had a few players with great potential from the beginning (Vlasic, Sigurdsson, Becao, Chalov), here we've only got one turkish striker who left us in the very first pre-season. I think some of my turkish youngsters can definitely become at least a squad players for top-european side but from our current starting eleven I feel like only "potential CL winner-kind of players" are Halil Demircan (who is currently unhappy as he's on low wages and only wants to sign with a 3-mil release clause) and possibly Plizzari (who I believe is at the very least already comparable to Mitryushkin). I also have big hopes for Eriksson, even though Cordella has bigger PA (as stated by the game), I believe Eriksson is the better striker - I only started Cordella for the majority of the season as Filippi was injured and Eriksson was our second best LW. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

We beat CSKA Moscow at home which means we qualified for knock-out rounds of Champions League and 3 wins out of 3 games in Super League. We also advance forward in Turkish Cup. The problem is we currently have 6 players of our starting eleven out injured so I am expecting to get hammered away at City. And of course Besiktas just will not drop any points. Speaking of Besiktas we beat them on their own stadium and with following htree wins we move to 1st place in the table! We beat them twice already this season so goal difference is irrelevant. Even after our fails against Alanyaspor and Kasimpasa we still could have won if we beat Trabzonspor, but we lost so Besiktas secures another title. scarp Posted July 16, 2019 Author Share Posted July 16, 2019 August 2026 August started with Super Cup finals were we battered Besiktas again and easily won. We again had to make our way from 3rd Rd of CL qualifiers and we were handed Dynamo Kyiv there - it was quite easy but we lost to Galatasaray in the league as we were resting few players. Next round we have got Sporting and we played pretty bad at home, thankfully we scored twice in an overtime in second leg and we move to CL groups again. Lol, this is like the hardest group we could get? Transfers We have got quite a lot of money to spend but I do not want to buy players just for the sake of it so it was relatively calm summer. Aouchiche will be our new key player in midfield and Carli will provide depth in attack, Vural Serce will rotate on CB and Carlos Quintana will fight for the left winger spot with our captain Filippi. Absolutely delighted with the result. Next game we played Besiktas and they ended our Super League win streak as we had to rest most of the players. We also advance forward in the Turkish Cup. Transfers Bought Rafael Yuri for 8mil - I tried to buy him in summer but he just did not want to join and rather stayed in Brazil. When Brighton paid Ait-Nouri's release clause I did not even imagine how hard it will be to replace him - I even had to break Super League transfer record in order to buy out Rafa Querol from Barcelona on his release clause. We also win Turkish Cup on penalties meaning we win domestic treble this season. We have reached the point where the biggest reinforcement for us every summer is the fact that our players are one year older. Since I do not want to ruin our wage structure it is very hard for me to sign experienced players that are better than those we currently have. Also I am struggling a little bit with turkish players because: a) Their names are just too foreign for me and I can not build a relationship with them (as opposed to russians for example) b) Their mental abilities are usually horrible c) They just do not seem to fulfill their potential - Eray Aydin has the potential to be one of the best players of my team and his current ability is already good enough for at least rotation but whenever I play him he just does terrible (6.56 rating in 15 games - 10 in starting eleven). So in the winter/next summer I will look to strenghten following positions (of course only if noone leaves us): a) Left winger - Filippi is our captain and he's still very good but I think his ceiling is not as high as I would want for me starting winger. b) DM/CM - Looking mostly for DM but to be honest - I don't know if its my tactic issue or fm issue in general but my DM always has the lowest rating from my entire team so it is hard for me to rate them (now when I think of it I believe Zobnin had decent rating in CSKA?) - happened to me in all fm19 saves so far - but maybe I just did not find the right player? If I find a world class player on CM I can sign him aswell - vut Czyz surprisingly is still one of our key players. c) CB - Bremer is aging and if I can get someone experienced to replace him (but not in his 30s) I will do it. d) anyone that is turkish and better than what we currently have (or at least comparable) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
