Cheers!

Our squad is changing drastically every year as other teams come in for our players and we look to replace them, but we do currently have one 'real' Sammarinese NT player in Mattia Giardi:

He's got 6 caps in real life, so he's added 6 more to that total since the save has started. He's only just joined us in January though, so I don't really consider him 'our' player - he's spent 10 seasons with Faetano and another 7 with Tre Fiori.

Filippo Berardi is the best NT player - Torino sold him for 63k without him ever appearing for them and since then he's spent his career in Serie B and C:

When you're 100 seasons in, it's nice to have a change from the usual standard league structure, although I won't be saying that when we dominate the league but mess up in the playoffs

Berardi does look like a good player! Must be the target to sign him then when you can?

Also, the Sammarinese players are dual nationality with Italian? Does the game lose out any players to Italy for the youth groups?

I'd absolutely love to sign Berardi! We don't play with wingers, but he's the type of player worth changing the system for - and he looks good enough to play anywhere, anyway  Unfortunately he's already 27, so I don't think we're ever going to have a high enough reputation to tempt him to join whilst he's still playing.

Not every Sammarinese player has a dual nationality, but a lot of them do. There are some who get capped by Italy U19s, but none are good enough to progress any further, so usually get a San Marino U21 callup before breaking into the main NT. Further down the line if we start to produce some really talented dual nationality players, there is a chance that they turn down San Marino to play for Italy instead, but we're a long way off that I think!

:seagull:

We did so well in the league and were looking like real contenders, but we completely collapsed against Cailungo as soon as it got to the Playoffs, losing 5-1 in the first leg. Such a disappointment, and combined with another poor Cup run...

It's yet another year without making it into Europe for the first time.

I think next year has to be the year we really target winning something. Players from Youth Intakes get put on youth contracts which seem to stop them being poached for 3 years. With the last two quality intakes that we've had, we should have a squad capable of competing at the top that won't get torn apart in the transfer window.

Finally! :D:D:D

After dominating Phase 1 and topping Group 1, you had to fancy our chances in the Playoffs. We dominated Juvenes Dogana and edged it against Tre Fiori, but I thought we'd blown it when Cailungo equalised in the 91st minute against us. We came back stronger in Extra Time, though, and Thomas Guidi (YP14) stepped up to hand us our first League title.

We've only gone and done the double! :D

A really tight game, where we were just undone by a bit of quality from a Premiership bound striker (I doubt Guy Norman ever plays a game for Watford, but he's clearly got something about him):

188d84627b9431b26ad577a37e792deb.png

Still, we put up a good fight against a much stronger (Professional) team, so I can't have any complaints. Into the Europa League Second Round Qualifying we go!

Oh, and also...

I didn't expect to have such a dominant year, but I'm delighted! We did well in the First Phase but absolutely smashed Group 1, going unbeaten, and kept that form going right through the playoffs, winning them without conceding a goal. Back in the Champions League!

Another Double :D

And just to top it all off...

We can only offer non-contracts, so it's not that helpful, but it's a big step!

Much less convincing in Group 1 as everybody beat everybody, and we needed the higher seed rule to get past Domagnano, but we comfortably eased past Faetano and Tre Fiori to win the league for the third year running :D

We had a bit of a shocker in the Cup, but the league is the main focus.

Thomas Guidi (YP14) might be hard to keep a hold of...

ec3c21b2bd1bd96592674f8c0b5667f8.png

He bagged 25 goals in 25 league games, and he's an absolute class above at this level. I fear that the longer we stay Semi-Professional and can't tie him down to a proper contract, the more likely he is to up and leave us. We've got 2.2m in the bank currently with the Champions League coming up, so hopefully we can turn Pro before too long...

Nice to see you progressing along. I think we had £3m in the bank when the board finally accepted my request to turn pro.

Cheers! That's good to know - hopefully we won't be too far off!

Nobody had signed either him or Guidi yet - Guidi still doesn't want to talk to us about coming back, but Ciacci has returned (albeit on a pretty expensive appearance fee) and instantly becomes our best player again

Youth Intake Day!

Interesting!

f601158405cff6ff29d5771dc5bdf400.png

Born in Clacton-On-Sea in Essex, England, but with a name like Andrea Valli and being both Sammarinese and English, Valli presumably has that rare combination of an English and Sammarinese parent, but it works out great for us  Being English, there's a decent chance that his PA is a fair bit higher than if he was just pure Sammarinese. I don't know how long we'll be able to keep him for, but he should be able to help the National Team at the very least!

You're making excellent progress, especially in Europe!

I did a facescan but I probably should have done it in a room with better lighting...

Great update! Can't wait to see the progress when you're fully pro.

Out of curiosity, I went and checked San Marino on my save. Berardi is out of contract at the end of 3rd season and is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia. Was hoping to find a player I can buy for my Parma save as well haha

We had a good season, but just completely fell apart against La Fiorita in the Semi Final. Playoffs don't leave any room for mistakes...

Not a very convincing cup final, but we'll be in the Europa League next year.

Not a bad intake in fairness, but it's not really in the positions we need (FBs, CMs and ST).

5a22cbdfd5c285b6e18fc77b7d306e84.png

He looks like he could grow into a really good CB.

1f637518e14d10a8cba68296eb8d2dd6.png

At 5'7 he's going to be too small to play CB for us unless he has a growth spurt, so we could use him to solve our FB problem, even if he's not the best going forward.

Those physicals :brock: We don't use wingers, but he could be a very hard to handle striker.
