Northernpilgrim
The January transfer window is going to be crucial, as I've had to promise several players that we'll add to the squad to convince them to stay. Hopefully I can come up with a quality signing or two to satisfy them
Northernpilgrim
7 points out of 9 in the league in January, but cup disappointment at the hands of my former employers which leaves us 4 points clear at the top, and in a strong position for promotion this season
Northernpilgrim
On the transfer front, I managed to get 2 players in, both defenders but it wasn't enough to appease Havard Nielsen, who still wants to leave, despite us leading the race to the Premier League. TheLastOlympian07
good read so far, will be following from here on out. Also can;t help but notice Bolton 10 points clear of the drop after seeing your last table screenchot how interesting is that lol
Northernpilgrim
Disturbing lack of ambition. Still pretty close in the league. Best of luck on the runout. I tried to sign several high profile players, but because we're a Championship club, they just laughed off the approach. I had to sign some players, so went for two players who were as good as others in the squad, in positions we needed more depth. The title race is close, but I'd be gutted if we weren't at least in the playoffs from here.
Northernpilgrim
good read so far, will be following from here on out. Also can;t help but notice Bolton 10 points clear of the drop after seeing your last table screenchot how interesting is that lol Bolton are 10 clear of relegation as of the end of January, and as long as their form doesn't fall off a cliff, I think they'll survive this season. Next season is another matter, as the finances are still dire, so a firesale is likely.
Northernpilgrim
Just noticed Wigan in the league table. If they could defend, they'd be contenders!
Northernpilgrim
February was very busy, and very nearly perfect and we're in control of the Championship title race going into the run-in
Northernpilgrim
March wasn't spectacular, but if we can replicate it in April, we'll be promoted as we're 13 clear of third, and only 6 games to go. 2 more wins and we are a Premier League team

Northernpilgrim
I will remain at the club until I've completed my coaching badge, expected to be in June, and then I'll leave and wait for a League 1 vacancy to come up to complete the next leg of the challenge. Northernpilgrim
As long as it isn't Port Vale. If it is I'll have to ignore your progress. It won't be - they just got relegated from League 2 to the National Leagues
Northernpilgrim
In July, I got the offer I wanted. They finished 5th in League 1 last season, and I have 2 seasons to secure promotion. Plus I don't have to move house!

Northernpilgrim
A good striker makes a world of difference. Jordan Murphy has 4.5 star potential, so I'll probably just get one good quality striker, use Murphy alongside him, and Dagnall will be used as a backup. Northernpilgrim
Of the summer transfers, Chris Dagnall was signed before I arrived, and I wouldn't have signed him. Lalkovic and Bakayoko left before I arrived, and I'm gutted they were both allowed to go.
Northernpilgrim
I'm pretty happy with September's results and those results have taken us to the top of the table
Northernpilgrim
A near perfect October and we're top of the table still but look at Southend's goals against. Have they hired Tony Pulis?? Seriously, if they could score goals, they'd be a threat at the top. I'm just happy we're well ahead of schedule, as I'd only promised to deliver a playoff place this season.
Northernpilgrim
November was almost as good too 7 points out of 9 leaves us top of the table and 4 points clear. Northernpilgrim
Given that my next role (which will be the end of the current season if we go up, the end of next if we don't) will be in League 2, it's unlikely that any employer at that level will agree to me doing the Pro License. I plan to do that when I start the stint with a Championship club. If that opportunity arises after promotion from League 2, I will more than likely skip the clubs where promotion wasn't required (given that the objectives of the challenge are to win more promotions than Neil Warnock, and I've already deviated from the original rules anyway, I think that's ok). Either way, I won't be joining Port Vale Nobby!!

Northernpilgrim
Considering we were relegated last season, there doesn't seem to be a shortage of quality in the squad, although I will be looking to add a striker over the summer
