KingCarlsen Posted March 11, 2016 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Flying again. Had a better end to the season and managed to stay up - only finished 17th but was a good way clear of 18th. Needed some more HG players so in came Afobe, Akpom and Iorfa. Also signed were Kimmich, Keita and Embolo who have all been excellent. On paper I had a solid squad, but after a reasonable start and flirting with the playoffs I couldn't seem to pick up a win in the league for ages. Eventually I got sacked with the club hovering 5 points above the relegation zone at the end of February. A takeover of the club then followed a couple of weeks later and they appointment a new manager. After taking the vacant job at Luton Town I kept a close eye on my beloved Leeds and unfortunately the new gaffer couldn't turn it round either, and the club have been relegated I will have another crack at Leeds in time, probably offloading a few players including the likes of Bamba and Berardi who complained quite a lot throughout the campaign. So I started a new game with Leeds with the new transfer window update. I always feel Leeds are a challenge on hear as no money and for there reputation it is hard to sign top players. Going well so far tactics are working superbly but its hard to sign anyone as no money so had to get free transfers and loan players. Also sacked most of backroom staff and brought in my own. I always ask to increase the Coaching staff Scouting team and Physio staff to have more specialised coaches Scouting area and a better more capable medical team. I've started a new game following the 16.03 update and have started reasonably well. Rolando Aarons won Championship player of the Year but unfortunately I couldn't get the loan renewed and he was well out of my price range to buy. Tried to keep it realistic and sign English players with a few foreigners/prospects, don't like going out and signing guys transfer listed from Valencia/Inter/Dortmund who in the real world would never join a newly promoted Leeds United. Squad: New signings in bold. Still hoping to sign another CM (Josh McEachran/Tom Carrol) and ST (Ighalo/Long/Lapadula). If there is still any budget left I'll look at another CB GK: Darlow, Silvestri, Turnball LB: Taylor, Mings CB: Bellusci, Cooper, Bamba, Borja RB: Byram, Berardi LM: Jony, Antonio RM: Dallas CM: Cook, Camarasa, Mowatt ST: Hooper, Leko, Wood, Erwin I set up quite defensive naturally so should be suited to survival already although not bringing in any BIG names should make it an interesting challenge. dripdrop84 Posted June 3, 2016 Share Posted June 3, 2016 I've just finished my third season, constantly finished around the 65 point mark in the Championship, top half of the table but outside the playoffs. I haven't downloaded any tactics, but i'm getting tempted to see if that changes my fortunes. I didn't have a massive clearout of players like most seem to have done on this thread, and have managed to keep hold of the likes of Cook and Taylor for now, though interest is high in their services. In that time I had a takeover but it has resulted in the club losing millions in the last season due to debt repayment. For this coming summer transfer window I have zero to spend, and a wage budget of £335k which I'm already at the limit of. I don't see the point in selling players as I will only retain 20% of the sale price. I do have an affiliare with Man City, and Iheanacho has been with me for the last 18 months. facman Posted August 31, 2016 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Just started a Leeds game (normally play as the Toffees, but did once have a 15 season epic as Blackburn in CM 03/04!)... Only 2 signings so far (Matty Taylor and Julio Baptista) and early injuries meant a mediocre championship start: LXXW 5pts after 4 games. Capital One Cup match next, and guess what? I drew Everton! At least it's at Elland Road. Struggling for goals initially, so brought Doukara in for my last game against Sheff Wed - he banged in 2 screamers in a 2-1 win - glad I didn't sell him!
