Whilst not agreeing with your comments fully I would agree that Prso deserves the POTY award.

Rangers have told Bojan Djordjic his services will not be required by the club beyond this summer.

The winger joined in January from Manchester United on a six-month contract, but has failed to hold down a first-team place.

Now manager Alex McLeish has informed the player he must find another club.

"We decided it would be in Bojan's best interests to look elsewhere to guarantee first-team football," McLeish told Rangers' official website. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Andrews keeps faith

Rangers Marvin Andrews has reaffirmed that he will not go under the knife after damaging his cruciate ligament.

The Rangers stopper picked up the serious injury against Dundee in March, although has miraculously defied medical opinion to continue playing for Alex McLeish's side.

The Trinidad and Tobago international puts his remarkable ability to ignore the injury down to his strong Christian faith, and is expected to continue for The Gers after playing in the last two SPL games against Celtic and Aberdeen.

"I respect the medical people at Murray Park but I don't want to have the operation," said Andrews.

"I know it's hard for people to understand but God has given me strength and I am not concerned.

"I have my beliefs, God is in control of my life and I believe my knee will be fine.

"I don't feel any pain and there have been no problems. I appreciate the doctors and specialists want to help.

"I respect that but I put my faith in a higher power.

"However, I am so thankful and grateful to all the people who have supported me during this time."

Andrews' ability to carry on despite the serious blow has also caught the eye of recently installed Trinidad and Tobago boss Leo Beenhakker, who may call-up the stopper for World Cup qualifiers in June.

The player's participation is bound to be a bone of contention for McLeish, and Andrews is expecting the Gers boss to come to an understanding with Beenhakker.

"I want to be back training with Rangers in pre-season but it is out of my hands," Andrews continued.

"The decision will be taken by the two managers. I am sure they will discuss it.

"My desire is to play as many games as possible but you can't be in two places at once.

"I have not spoken to Leo Beenhakker yet but Jan Wouters has told me he is a nice man and I always enjoy playing for my country." </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Looks like we might be stuck with Lovenkrands on the left next year then.

As from today I'm delighted to inform everyone that I have been appointed as one of the 5 new board members of the RST...

I'm sure most of you have heard of the RST and it's fine work for Rangers fans as a whole. If you don't know about it, or do and aren't a member, then I suggest you have a look at our website for what we're about and our achievements so far.

I can't wait to spend the next 3 years (at least) working for trust members and all Rangers fans. Please, if you have any questions at all, or think the trust could help in a specific area with anything regarding the club, then give me a shout and I'll try my best to put your point across.

Also, as always, we're looking for new members and personally, I think £10 is superb value for a year's membership as well as your own share in RFC. No other independant body offers such a platform for the fans' feelings and I'd urge you all to think seriously about it if you have any concerns regarding the club and it's future.

Membership of the RST is something I've seriously been considering for a wee while now.

One of my biggest concerns is how the club handles itself media wise. After the 2-0 game against Celtic in November, we allowed the board and management of Celtic to lie about and demonise the Rangers support. What's the trust's policy on this?

We released a press statement after that game where we indicated as much. As I say, we're the only platform available for the fans, as a group, to pressure Rangers on certain issues, while obtaining shares and a future say in the running of the club.

Again, have a look at our site for out poast successes and press releases regarding various issues for an idea of what we stand for.

Rangers interested in Dellas?

I read this story earlier in a Greek football site:

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">

"Rangers are one of the clubs interested in signing Dellas", said to the "Times" Traianos' agent Maurizio Tonici (sp). Dellas' contract expires this summer and seeing as the GialloRossi haven't expressed any interest in renewing it, many clubs have placed the Roma centre back in their shortlists.

"Rangers are interested in Dellas. I've discussed the matter with their manager informally. They haven't made an offer so far, but i can confirm they have expressed their interest. There are other clubs that have shown interest as well, so we'd like to keep our options open and come June we'll review each offer", said Tonici.

He then added: "Obviously he's interested in playing for Rangers. He has good memories from his time at Sheffield United, plus he knows the characteristics of Scottish football, so adaptation won't be an issue. Rangers are a famous club and they'll be for sure at the top of his list. The chance to play in the Champions League will also be a major factor".

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Another Greek European Championship winner, Giorgos Karagounis, has been offered to the Ibrox club as Internazionale prepare to offload a cast of international reserves.

Marco Branca, the Inter sporting director, has undertaken the task of relocating four underachieving investments to Britain and sources in Italy suggest he has informed Rangers of Karagounis' availability. The 28-year-old midfielder is a former team-mate of Kyrgiakos at Panathinaikos. However, with Thomas Buffel, a £2.3m signing from Feyenoord, showing signs of settling into a new environment, McLeish has no desperate need for another attacking central midfielder. He may, however, be intrigued by the availability of Andy van der Meyde, the Netherlands winger.

The 25-year-old has two years left on his contract but has struggled to make a sustained impact since leaving Ajax in 2003. His suitability on either flank might tempt McLeish into making an offer.

Martin O'Neill might also monitor the situation if his pitch to keep Craig Bellamy proves unsuccessful. Everton are also understood to have rekindled their interest after losing out to Inter two years ago and David Moyes' case may be strengthened by Champions League qualification.

Last night, van der Meyde's agent, Chiel Dekker, revealed he has a meeting with Branca planned for the end of the month and refused to rule out a move to Scotland.

Van der Meyde would be decent but enough with the greeks already are we trying to build the euro 2004 winning side icon_biggrin.gif

Karagounis is fffffb icon14.gif

He's the most passionate footballer i've ever seen. Running endlessly up and down the pitch, he can play in virtually every position in the midfield. He does tend to hold up the ball too much though, but then again maybe that's why he used to always top the list for the "fouls suffered" category back when he was with us.

He always said he wanted to play in Serie A though and i'm not sure he'd want to move to another league.

The Dick Advocaat signing has another year on his contract to run and has instructed his agent to hold clear-the-air talks with the club soon.

"Hopefully I can stay here," he said. "I need to wait until the end of the season to see what is going to happen.

"But I hope I will still be a Rangers player next year."

The 25-year-old was valued at £6m a few seasons ago, when he was being linked with the likes of Inter Milan.

Who was the ref today?

Wost. Ref. Ever.

Buffel was good and Novo looked sharp icon_cool.gif

Played well in the first half taking a 2-0 lead into the 2nd but shocking performance from then on in, seemed to sit back when we could have scored a few more, Buffel hit a shot off of the bar and might even have even crossed the lind and big Thompson had a decent effort that hit the bar.

Thought Buffel was excellent today and done a lot of running and was looking to get involved in the game. Take note Peter Lovenkrands, although on that performance he has hopefully played his last game for us.

The referee was terrible today. Gave us NOTHING and we had at least three good shouts for a penalty today.

And the free kick that led to Big Marv unfortunately stabbing the ball past the flying mullet was never a free kick. Made for a nervous end to the game anyway.

Thought Burke did more when he came on than Lovenkrands did the whole time he was on and Burke should take Lovenkrands' place in the team IMO.

Lovenhimself can get to hell now, he was going on about having "a settled life outside football and loves life at Rangers" in the papers this morning, aye maybe cause he gets 15k-20k for doing nothing on the field and Eck still thinks he'll pull something out...surely that is it and he can get sold, although who'd buy him? icon_biggrin.gif

also I bet Buffel was giving the v-sign to that old senile fool Archie McPherson today, I wonder if he'll say he did nothing on Monday night's Scotsport or he'll not appear. He's been slagging him off all season and Buffel hasnt been playing in the right position cause of Nacho's form apparently, but Eck must have decided to give him a go in his desired position due to Nacho losing the form now icon14.gif although Nacho sounded like he had a better game than he has in the last six weeks or so

Today's article (by the RST Chairman) in the Scottish Mirror...

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">

Row Z – The View from the Stands – (Scottish) Daily Mirror 10/5/05

Colin Glass, chairman of the RST, takes issue with the media’s portrayal of the Ibrox club

-------

“As the (retiring) chairman of the RST, I’m delighted to get this chance to put across some topical points from the perspective of Rangers fans.

I know fans of other clubs get their turn on Row Z on a weekly basis, but it is especially important to us, given the widespread (and sometimes quite malicious) way we are often potrayed in the media.

The single biggest complaint we keep receiving from our members relates to often quite inaccurate reporting of Rangers matters.

Indeed, only this weekend, one of the Sunday broadsheets (in an article about Lucas Radebe) reported that Mark Walters – still the only honorary member of the RST – was racially abused by Rangers fans when he joined us in 1988.

This is patently not true, as having attended personally his first 2 games, which were at Parkhead and Tynecastle, I can assure readers that the racial abuse came soley from the home fans at each of these games.

I make this point not to have a go at Celtic or Hearts fans, many of whom have progresses since then, but to illustrate how Rangers fans are constantly demonised in the media.

And unfortunately, the current structure (as opposed to the staff themselves) of Rangers’ media relations function, in allowing such untruths to become common currency, is driving a wedge between the fans and the club.

Meantime, the RST vice chairman will naturally be contacting the editor in question, and demanding a full retraction in next Sunday’s edition.

Although I would be the first to admit that not all Rangers fans are angels, there has been much positive news this season, largely inspired by The Blue Order (the singing section in the Broomloan Stand) whose TIFO display at the CIS Cup Final was quite stunning, as was the marvellous display of colourful banners at half-time on Saturday.

The Bill Struth banner, commemorating the life of a manager who steered Rangers to no fewer than 18 League Championships was especially impressive and I do think flags and banners form a colourful backdrop to ‘the beautiful game’ – they certainly enhance the theatre of it.

Saturday’s game itself could easily have seen a Rangers rout, but I do await with anticipation a nine-page spread showing all the photographs of the strongest of Rangers’ three penalty claims in another tabloid, posing the question: ‘Why was the linesman too scared to flag for the infringement he clearly witnessed?’

This season’s SPL race may yet come down to goal difference, so was he inTIMidated from doing his job properly?

Off the park, we are only 3 months away from being a debt-free club.

It was last August (AGM season) that the promise to make the club debt-free within a year was first offered, and my comment at the time was if we can be debt-free and SPL champions then that would be a fantastic double.

My view remains the same today, and even though neither Rangers nor Celtic are as good as they once were, winning the championship is still a terrific achievement.

Finally, I’d like to comment on the progress made not just be the RST but by all Supporters Trusts in Scotland over the past two years.

Supporters Trusts, which operate on entirely democratic principles, really are ‘a movement whose time has come’ so if you are a Rangers supporter, you can have a look at our achievements at www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk.

If you’re not, a link on our site will take you to the Supporters Direct website, and from there you can find details of your own club’s Trust.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I'm sure you'll agree this is a well written article and I'm glad Colin has got across so many valid points in such a short piece.

Just got this from OSM:

Thank you for your recent correspondence re the above subject matter. It was in no way our intention to cause offence to Rangers fans and we will be redressing this issue on Sunday and in our June edition.

Hopefully this will be in a prominent position and in their online edition...
