Good start to the month, we managed to make the semi-finals of the league cup for the second year running, with a gutsy win over Bolton, we followed that up with a great performance against Spurs where we continue to go against all the odds, and we again dug deep to nudge ahead against spurs and we hoped to continue the momentum into the rest of the month. Only for Everton to beat us comfortably at Goodison, we could have lost by more. We followed it up with a comfortable win over Charlton we could and should have had more we were that in control, I do feel we can realistically finish in the top ten this season.

5th Chelsea 43 Points

6th Sunderland 41 Points

7th Arsenal 40 Points

8th West Ham 36 Points

Despite the win over WBA the poor performance against Swansea was depressing, we need to pick it up massively to get us back on track, we put something right when we got the comfortable win over Bradford in the cup we could have scored more and we perhaps should have, The first half of the cup summed up our issues as Darcy is a goal scorer and easily hit double figures, but he would have so much more if he wasn’t always offside, he got two goals disallowed in the semi first leg. It was poor but we were disgraceful against hull and I dished out fines to my players we were that bad, We went into the QPR game knowing that we realistically could end the month with no points on the board we knew if we could win this it would set us up nicely for the two cup games. I was pleased we got the three points on the board which saw us get some confidence back only to get soundly beaten in the league cup semi and we go out at the semi-final stage two seasons running Its going to be a hard month for us next month and I’m hoping we can recapture our form. As we aent scoring and we are defending like a bunch of amateurs.

Well another great performance against city they must hate facing me now, in the four times ive played them since we returned to the top league we got spanked 4-0 but the last three we won 2-1 despite being dominated so Im starting to enjoy playing one of the biggest sides in the world now. The back to back defeats to arsenal and Liverpool hurt us, but expected as both as much better than us. We got back on track with a win over Cardiff, as I’m hoping over the next few months we get enough points on the board to get at least a top half finish; even a late run at the Europa league spots would be good.

8th Tottenham 44 Points

This month was a great month for us, only one defeat, we got a massive 12 points out of 15 this month to continue our push for a European spot, we are keeping an eye on the FA Cup after we seem to be too far behind 5th place arsenal with their games in hand and far enough ahead of 7th we are really relying on the finalists of the FA Cup having already qualified, Prytz continues to be a bargain buy having spent £2.9m on him he seems to be performing the same as a player worth 10 times that, its also good to see no standout goalscorer as the goals seem to come from all over the pitch I dread to think how great we will be if we managed to grab a 20+ goal a season striker.

A poor start to the month as a couple of really bad performances saw us go down 2-0 in both matches, we the two defeats leave us hanging onto 7th spot we need to get it going, again for the last few matches to rescue this season, The spurs game I thought would be our turning point and at half time we were leading 1-0 only to throw it all away as we were over run in the second half and couldn’t contain spurs. Thankfully the Everton game gave us a much needed three points to keep hold of 6th spot and with west ham drawing their game with arsenal it means we stay well ahead of 7th and keep in touch with 5th for now until the games in hand are played.

The Ipswich game set us up brilliantly for the last couple of games it meant we went into the home game against Charlton knowing we just had to get three points from the relegation threatened Londoners, to guarantee European football for the First time at the Stadium of Light and the first time in Sunderland since 1973. And we achieved it comfortably and whilst it will be a great adventure, we will concentrate on the League anything we get out of the Europa league will be a bonus as far as we are concerned, we can’t jeopardize the league for the European adventure. The final game of the season to play a Blackburn side who won the league with ease, has scored 97 goals knowing if we better Arsenals result we can finish 5th but we can’t finish 6th so over all a great season for us.

Ive done all my business early this summer and dont expect to be signing anyone else

Transfer Update

OUT

Matty Porter – Ipswich - £375k

Well after 9 seasons at the club after coming through the youth ranks im sad to let the local lad go, but with the signings of two new keepers and Serra on the books young Porter just isn’t needed.

David McDonald – Cardiff - £1.1m

After seven seasons at the club and 167 appearances the former top scorer he lives for a tidy profit and adds money into the transfer kity for next season.

Rick Dillon – Burnley - £2.2m

The strong centre back leaves after struggling to get into the first team, having spent the season on loan he goes to burnley to help them get back into the premiership.

IN

Ifeayni Mohammed – Kobenhaven - £8m

The Nigerian centre midfielder will be Pyrtz back up so to speak but I haven’t just splashed £8m on a reserve he will play quite regularly with me trying to partner them to begin with.

Andrey Mikhailov – Zorya - £21m

Smashed out transfer record on the Belarusian striker totally worth it my opinion will be my new number 9 and my first choice striker I’m hoping his pace work rate and off the ball allows him to score plenty of goals for us.

Geronimo Chacon – KV Kortrijk - £5.25m

Signed to replace Serra as my number one keeper he concedes on average 1 goal per game which is much better record than Serra, he was the first to break my 20k a week wage structure too as he arrives on a £25k a week contract.

Roberto Bitancourt – Guingamp - £12.5m

Signed him to be the strike partnet of Mikhailov, we seem to have had lots of games last season where we just didn’t take our chances so im sorting that out defensively we were ok but we need a regular goal scorer and I’ve had to pay a premium for that.

A great month for us 7 points from 9 the main three of the strike force is helping as Bitencourt, Mikhailov and Mocout all got notches this month in the league, also quite tight at the back we had to come from behind against city to take the lead and I thought we were going to get the usual 2-1 win, only to concede at the end and we had to settle for a point, we had to come from behind against Liverpool too, but we go three valuable points, also this month we managed to sail into the Europa league group stage but it’s going to be a tough one, with us having Galatasaray, Feynoord and Standard, so it’ll be a tough one.

Well this month was another good month we started with some difficulty, losing to spurs was expected they are the latest side to be bought by Emirati mega richmen, but we got a solid point against Feynoord in the Europa league, before as expected we lost to Hull, but once those three were out of the way we got up and running progressing though a very tough tie against Premiership holders Blackburn to make the 4th Round of the Carling cup where we have an easier tie against Chelmsford. We followed that up with a great 1-0 win over Bolton to keep the points on the board before notching a unlikely win over Galatasaray I fully expected to lose this but we got a solid 1-0 win to put us top of the Europa group.

So to go with Blackburns Tycoon, Man City's Tycoon, Hulls Tycoon, Arsenal have a consortium with cash we now have,

Tottenham have been bought by an Emrati tycoon, and Man Utd are close to a consortium take over, this is going to make it even harder to break into the top 6 with us not having the same kind of financial backing.

Well we didn’t get off to any kind of start this month we were poor against Swansea but perhaps should have got a point, then against Stoke we got our arse kicked and we were extremely Poor and deserved to lose but the way we did it was disappointing we equalise before we scored an own goal to give Stoke the lead then the injury time goal was the icing on the cake. We did get somewhat back on track as we grabbed another 3 points in Europa leave us well an truly top of the group. Only to screw it up against Chelsea at home as we went down to a second half penalty, So I decided to stick a full team out against Chelmsford to try and build up some confidence and momentum for the Man utd game which didn’t go as planned we got beat again and we continue our poor run of 1 win in 7 im not holding much hope in next month’s games but we need to get some points on the board.

10th Swansea 27 Points

11th Tottenham 26 Points

A great start to the month for us as we got a a comfortable win over Feynoord to see us qualify for the knockout rounds with ease, with Mikhailov scoring on his return from injury he then grabbed a brace in the follow up smashing of Leicester we followed the comfortable win over West Ham to get us into the Semis of the league cup for the third time in three years, hoping to make the final for a change. One thing I have noticed is how hard is this month? With 7 games 6 of them away from home, And just before the Galatasaray game we got the news an Italian consortium were looking at us and the board had given us an embargo also I was told id lose my job…. So I hit back with the solid win over Galatasary and when the tournament resumes in Febuaray we will be playing Sporting Lisbon in the next round and if we beat them we will play the winner of Galatasaray and Monaco. We were unlucky against QPR we had to come from behind twice to get the draw but we should have had all three points with ease despite what the report says. So I had to do some rotation and I decided the Fulham game was more winnable than the City game so I put a weakend side out against City we managed to smash Fulham and get our 3 points from the 9 I expected we followed that up a respectable point from man city before losing 3-2 to Liverpool but we are 9th at the turn of the year we have a game in hand to close that gap and we should.

In the league the 7 points we got this month was a ok return we fully expected to beat WBA and we drew 1-1 which was disappointing against west ham we threw everything we had at them only to miss our chances, the Spurs game was the other way we got three points how I have no idea as Tottenham chucked everything at me and we were very lucky to come away with the win we should have been trounced. Next month is going to be a big one for us with The resumption of the Europa league the 5th round of the FA cup and also some winnable league games.

A disappointing month for us cup wise as we crash out of both the Europa and the FA we got spanked in the first leg of the Europa league tie with Sporting Lisbon but we sorted that out and came back in the second half to get us close to qualifying for the next round only to not be able to get that killer goal. The fa cup was a different kettle of fish we got beat and beat comfortably by Rovers we could have done better but it was perhaps my fault for resting players for the Europa league tie, well as far as the league goes we are climbing again as we remained unbeaten in the league this month with 7 points from the first three as expected I always knew the Stoke game would be the hardest, but we came away with a point when we perhaps should have got three, after our cup exploits we took on Chelsea the side we are chasing down in the league and we somehow im not sure how managed to grab three points in a great game. Next month is an odd one with only two games so im expecting 3 points from 9 next month.

A Great month as the fight between us and Chelsea for the last Europa league spot looks likely to go down to the last game of the season I only expected 9 points this month so to get 10 and be disappointed is a miracle! Only a draw at home to Charlton I see as dropped point and being disappointed with it as it would have kept us on level pegging with Chelsea now they have the advantage, but I’m ecstatic with the win over Blackburn but I would like European football again next season, but we need to start bridging that gap to the top 5. But with this season the run in is in my Favour, mine is West Ham (14th), QPR (18th) and Fulham (15th). Compared to Chelsea’s Swansea (9th), Stoke(11th) and QPR (18th)

Well finished another season, The Defeat to West ham I thought would have ended my Europa league quest and it left us with so much work to do, as it left us 5 points behind Chelsea our biggest hope was to get a break with the cups, the Carling cup was a bust as Swansea are below us as the league cup runners up and will get the spot, upon checking the FA Cup final we are guaranteed a spot as the winners are already in the champions league, and the runners up are in the Europa so despite a disappointing 7th placed finish we are in Europe again next year, as you can see 7th spot was ours all day, now I start planning squad additions, I’m signing some home grown talent for Europe with three of England’s biggest prospects joining this summer two for the first team one for the future, also would like to strengthen my back line.

And that’s the end of pre-season and a great pre-season for us. 100% record, 13 goals scored 3 against, and then a 4-1 aggregate win over Lokomotiva to send us into the I just await the draw for the next qualifying round, the biggest setback is Mohammed left for Inter as they activated his Foreign team release clause but we have a decent enough squad to cope I think still trying to get some players out on loan but I’m happy with the squad till next summer

Well a great start to the season for us, the Chelsea game I was sure we would lose in, and when we fell behind I expected 2/3 -0 defeat only for us to weather the storm and get back into it, when we equalised I hoped for the draw but when we scored a second with 15mins to go I pulled everyone back to try and hang on, and hang on we did, next up were Czech side Jablonec and the first leg went as planned, I didn’t expect to trounce Everton by so much however when we sent them packing with a drubbing, with the comfortable lead in the Europa I rested 5 players for the second leg of the Europa hoping it wouldn’t bite me in the ass, thankfully it didn’t Jablonec did score with their only shot of the match and Bitencourt was going to start against forest till he picked up a knock, we were a bit complacent at the city ground and we could of easily been beaten but we have got 9 good points on the board and start on next month.
