spankie Posted October 31, 2007 Share Posted October 31, 2007 My keeper has just scored his first goal a 30 yard free kick. He's my backup keeper and rated at 14 for free kicks. Later in the match he went up to take one but the keeper saved it and held it for a bit before booting it down towards my goal, luckily it trickled just wide of the post. spankie Posted November 2, 2007 Share Posted November 2, 2007 Even though I've stopped my keepers from taking free kicks, my first choice keeper decides to get in on the act. Howarth was about 2 yard outside of his area when he took a free kick which bounced once which the Exeter keeper misjudged and rolled into the net Proof that it was a valid goal and here's the Exeter pitch dimensions As this is a fluke I'm not sure that it counts in the records. Ive decided to go Real salt Lake as they were the smallest club in the MLS looking at value etc. Im trying to get my head round the transfer system etc and im looking forward to my first penalty shoot out US style. Anyway...My goalkeeper although an unbelievable shot stopper isnt too good from the spot starting with a 6 for pens and missing two in the first 8 games. So he is still on 0 for goals. He has 13 for free kicks and has been close on the few chances he has been given. He managed to score twice during the 3-0 victory over NjarðvÃk. My current keeper is absolutely brilliant between the sticks but has a free kick rating of 4.
