Thanks AK.

Things are moving a little slower now as I have started a new job recently which sees me working more hours. I am still playing now and again though.

No worries! Real life first.

2033/34 - Newcastle Town (League One)

It's where we repeat what happened before

Board: Mid table (increased from avoid relegation)

Media: 20th

Bookies: 25-1

Season tickets: 1371 (up 297) £443,395

Club value: £1,200,000

Jason Gray is sold by my chairman to Swindon Town for £750,000

We enjoy a decent start, though not as good as Chesterfield who win their first eight games.

A 7-1 thumping of Bradford City in October shows we are contenders. Eight players are named in team of the week on the back of that game!

A 4-0 win in heavy snow at Reading in early December gives me great hope and some expectation.

The board then sell Trevor Shaw to Charlton for £400,000 in January. Luke Elford and Adam Taylor agree Bosman moves. Three quarters of my first choice back four will have left before next season. Some serious rebuilding is required. Also, backup Leon McCoy will retire.

We maintain our form and look good for the playoffs.

However a shaky finish, only one point from our final three games see us miss out.

What I love about this thread is that I can miss it for 3 months then not take long to catch up. :D

Great job back up on League 1 nearly making the playoffs. Surely reaching them, and promotion to the Championship, won't be too far off in the future.

Good position in League One. Just noticed you had a player named Luke Elford...caught my eye cause I was in school for grades 1-12 with a guy with the same name! Never seen that happen before :)

Thanks Noikeee. Hopefully the Championship is soon. And yes, it takes me a while to play!

Unlucky to miss out on the playoffs, Nobby. Are you going to be getting FM13? Or carrying on with this?

Thanks AK.

I'm getting FM13 for the classic mode as it's rare I get a long session these days. I tend to get one a week, two if I'm lucky. When I get 2+ hours available it's this time I play FM. I'm getting FM13 for the classic mode to allow me to play a career with the much faster play and will use smaller amounts of available time to play classic. So this save will keep going for a while, at a similar pace it is now alongside one on FM13 classic.

Unless I win the lottery when everything will change.

Excellent, an update soon! I know you've been busy, and are running an FMC career, but I've looked forward to the next installment of this one.

2034/35 - Newcastle Town (League One)

It's where we bang on the door

Board: Top half finish (increased in the new year from respectable position)

Media: 10th

Bookies: 33-1

Season tickets: 1438 (up 67) £475,258

Club value: £1,300,000

New kit sponsor: 1 year, £72,610 (down £23,840)

New stadium sponsor: 5 years, £144,000 per year (down £16,000)

We enjoy a very good start, unbeaten in the first eight games.

October was poor though and November and December were little better.

In the New Year, things picked back up again. We maintain consistent form and challenge for the playoffs.

The playoffs are secured with one to go, but a win in our last game would see us promoted depending on Ipswich and Chesterfield's results. In injury time, we have a throw in, and the result is a shot narrowly over the bar. As it was, Ipswich got a point anyway and had we scored from the throw in, we would have missed out by one goal.

In the playoffs, we play Blackpool in the semi finals. A draw at Bloomfield Road sets us up in front of a capacity crowd at Newcastle Town Stadium. Nathan Hart is sent off for two yellows and then Daniel McKenzie gets injured with us using all three subs, leaving us to play extra time with only nine men. Not only do we keep Blackpool at bay, we nearly score ourselves but the penalty shoot out comes. We score once and miss out in playoffs again. Bugger. :(

Oh dear, that's gutting, I hate losing promotion playoffs, makes things a hell of a lot sweeter when you do manage to go up though. It was a great season though, another step forward.

With every passing season this becomes more and more an epic story, you should play this until you win the Champions League, may take you until FM16 is released though. :D

I've been in playoffs six times in this save and gone up twice, so it's not too bad a record.

Though I think I'll be dead before I reach the Champions League!
