GimmeTheBall
A good idea is to go to big clubs like Liverpool and Man Utd and ask your assistant to do a loan report. They will then report back to you with players that you could loan from the club.

Nicko Blaggo
Also, could we make this the official non league players thread?I'm managing Welling at the moment and desperately need a striker, either a loan or a freebie. I've just posted some players on the - other - BSN/S & BSP thread. I don't know if these players are on your game: Getulio, Boliovian International. Galuppo, Venezuelan Youth international. They get w/p and, if they are on your game, they will score for you.

uniclone
I already posted this on the other thread FM 09 - Non-League Discussion hope someone can combine them both. Playing Vauxhall Motors (BSN), hence any players I can get means anyone(almost) can. Media prediction 22nd, but currently sitting pretty at the top of the table. Rupal
Well, I actually am managing Stenhousemuir in Scottish Division 3, which is around Conference standard. A really good striker at this level is Chris Joyce (Odd Grenland). He also improves with training quite noticeably. Finishing starts off at only 7 but in practice the man doesn't miss! Signs on a free. He should be good for at least 2 divisions higher (ie Coca Cola League 1 or thereabouts) at a minimum. He's English, so no work permit needed. 2 good defenders at this sort of level are Martin Ferry (Limvady Utd - pace 18, can be got for around £2k to £3k) and John Ovenstone (Stenhousemuir - really good in the air - jumping about 17, heading around 15, tackling 13 and long throws 18). CPS
Has to be the best team name: Onto business - three very solid signings for lower league managers. I had no problems signing these 3 for Montrose in the Scottish 3rd so I'd imagine Blue Square Prem shouldn't be a problem. CPS
Thanks CPS, gonna offer Philip Craig a 4 week trial, as I chose to start in December 07, so got 9 months pre-season. Am in April at the moment. Hope he does the business for you like he has for me DanG. His physical stats are excellent for an unattached player, in real life he was a regular in Portadown's team and a NI under-19 international and is only unattached in game due to him quitting football to go to Uni (I think). I guess his value would be around 5k if he was in the Portadown squad. For me he has a 7.2 average from around 50 games. Make sure you get him in the box for set pieces too as he'll weigh in with a few goals. Let me know how he does for you if you decide to sign him after the trial. DanGLiverpool
Will do, just finalised trial agreements, joined now, right on the day of a match. Will follow your advice, and see how he does.
