jim5195 Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Just thought I'd post this little gem of a player as an alternative to the same old strikers who seem to get posted again and again. The image shows him fully developed a few seasons in, but he starts off with broadly similar stats. http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/5586/seleznyove.jpg He's an absolute beast of a target man available for next to nothing from Russia, and would probably come to any top division team. He managed to bag himself 90 goals in 132 league apps, including a slow first and second season, and all in an English based team that never made the Champions League in that time. jim5195 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Share Posted April 16, 2009 Pace is his one weakness, but its not so low as to be a hugely noticeable. He played for me as the hammer in a little and large partnership, although he acquitted himself quite well in the odd cup game as a lone target man. I'd say he could probably do a decent job upfront on his own if he's supported by pacey midfielders or wingers. Posted April 17, 2009 Share Posted April 17, 2009 im actually the shakhtar manager in my game and i would avoid this player if your looking for a forward, as his lack of finishin ability and off the ball make him a "decent" player at best for most top flight sides. he is a beast in the air so could be employed as a target man if you have another pacey striker that he could comliment, but there are better ones out there. I picked him up for 10.5 million in my third season and have already turned down a 23.5 million bid from Man United. This guy is a superb target man and as well as scoring goals, his all round contribution and what he does for the team make him a superb team player. He is lethal in the air and has scored some spectacular goals for me, he loves powering them in. Set him as your target man and tell him to hold the ball up and he links the play superbly. My scout says he is decent enough for my squad boasting the likes of Benzema, Robinho and Ribery. I am quite impressed with his stats as you can see for yourself and he seems to be performing quite well with 22 goals in 29 games. Anyone had any experience with him??
