adnan.siddiqui24
im just confused....is there going to be direct download as an option for mac? this worked brilliantly for me last year...so if i could do it again that would be great!
Glenn Wakeford
The direct digital download is available through Steam.
ahmufcwafc
The direct digital download is available through Steam. But Steam isn't available on Mac. I think SI usually sell a seperate digital download version of FM, I'm not sure if it comes out on release date though.
KUBI
There is no direct download for macs announced.
PGB_SPURS_FM09
I'm pretty sure i've seen it on here that you can get a digi download for MACs. Not from STEAM but from sigames.com but i don't think it comes out on the 14th might have to wait a week!
stevie_G_32201
wouldnt it be less hassle to buy a boxed version on friday?
trekman
wouldnt it be less hassle to buy a boxed version on friday? Mac users dont need to authenticate so if he can find it somewhere then he can get stuck in now.
stevie_G_32201
yes but the download isnt avaliable now
trekman
Why would you need a download for the boxed version since both mac and pc versions are on the same disk? If a shop is currently selling it then you can just buy it and install.
SI Staff Miles Jacobson Posted November 12, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted November 12, 2008 There will be one, but it'll be a few weeks after the boxed release.
trugunner
There will be one, but it'll be a few weeks after the boxed release. sooooo not fair for us mac users, esp if we live outside of the uk
Toothless Gibbon
sooooo not fair for us mac users, esp if we live outside of the uk You should be grateful they make it for macs at all! Most games aren't available!
sergio920
I shouldn't be grateful for anything, why should developers discriminate based on OS? We need systematic equality, an end to oppression!!
Scott McC
I think Gibbon's point was that at least it's available for Mac as 95% of major games aren't. If you buy the boxed version then that will work on Mac as well as PC, it's just the direct download that seems to be coming later on.
sergio920
hehe I know, it's just frustrating that there has been such lack of definitive answers, when after all, the Mac FM community is not that insignificant, especially outside the UK where it can take much longer to get a boxed version. trugunner
A lot of fellow mac comrades bring up marvelous points! Why should we be "abused" because we decided to buy operating systems that don't freeze up on a whim, or crash because two programs are running at once!?!! I play one game on my computer and its footy manager. I don't want to have to wait until xmas before I head home to England to get the game in a box. Its 2008 who the hell uses boxes nowadays....? trugunner
I shouldn't be grateful for anything, why should developers discriminate based on OS? We need systematic equality, an end to oppression!! we should start a support group!
sergio920
Haha yeah, do some video conferencing while playing a network FM game and and downloading movies from iTunes. Oh how I can't stand PC's operational incompetence. ;-) cheers
