AcidBurn
That is right because you have all your regens before the pre-season starts at beginning of July and the end of the current season would be the beginning of the new one bringing in all the regens. Alurny
The "islanders" appear in september sometime, I have just forgotten the date. ron.e
What's the difference between a newgen and a regen?
Harper
They are practically the same thing. A regen is a regenerated player that receives similar characteristics of an player in the original database that has retired from the game. A newgen is generated completely from scratch. Regeneration was the old system that CM/FM used, and I am not sure which game switched from regeneration to fresh creation.
pelicanstuff
A lot of them are created around 22 June...

arsenal_2111
From my GPTG FAQ Originally written by Canvey!! IX. What are both Newgens (AKA Regens, Freds), what date do they come into the game, and what are Greyed-Out Players?Newgens are players created randomly from the database, and appear in the game when a new season starts. These players replace players who have retired, to make sure that there are always a large amount of players in the game. It is very unlikely that you will have the same regens as anyone else, because there are so many different players that the game can make. There is no guarentee that if one world class player retires he will be replaced by another potentially world class player. They may not even play in the same position, or be from the same country. The following list explains the dates that new regens appear in each country. This is also the date that the league table is refreshed. Belarus - 10th February Belgium - 29th June Bulgaria - 29th June Croatia - 18th June Czech Republic - 28th June Denmark - 5th July England - 20th June Finland - 7th January Greece - 19th June Hungary - 19th June Iceland - 5th January Ireland - 5th January Israel - N.Ireland - 29th April Norway - 18th January Poland - 28th June Romania - Russia - 26th December Serbia - 9th July Slovakia - 28th June Slovenia - 28th June Sweden - 25th December Switzerland - 18th June Turkey - 19th June Ukraine - 18th June Wales - 18th June Thanks to canvey!! for writing the above list! Greyed-Out players are basically gap-fillers. These are players that are put into your team whilst you don't have enough players, to ensure that every match can be played. You can offer contracts to your own greyed-out players, but not to other teams. As soon as you have enough players to field a full team the grey players will disapear, never to be seen again. A newgen is generated completely from scratch. Regeneration was the old system that CM/FM used, and I am not sure which game switched from regeneration to fresh creation. Because a) less player come through with the old system and b)you see that English right winger with 20 crossing and free kicks, born in London? He's got a high PA.
