happykev
I find it hard to read the match play commentary bar on FM as the blue mixes with the white, will it be change on FM09 to a darker blue. Thanks
stevie_G_32201
i have also found it hard to read some teams comentary during matchday maybe there should be an optio the preferances menu to turn all matchday text black or something
Chris Ritchie
I may be wrong but I think you could actually change that yourself in the editor. You certainly could in older versions.
Ryan S
The same applies to Lazio
manc101
Im a city fan, and wouldn't want it changed as there our colours.
stevie_G_32201
yes you can change it in the editor but i would prefer if it was avaliable without resorting to such measures.
Zan87
Yeah maybe they should add some sort of stroke to the commentary text to avoid such problems.
ftg87
Aye if there was a darker shadow behind the white letters it wouldn't be so difficult to make out what it says, althought once you have played the game enough you know what is gonna be said when anyway lol
happykev
Im a city fan, and wouldn't want it changed as there our colours. I understand, but it wouldn't make a massive difference
manc101
I understand, but it wouldn't make a massive difference No maybe not but why should we have a different shade of blue? we dont play in dark blue. or darker blue.
Attilio
With a 2D match engine it doesn't really matter does it ? (You are always free to change those colours in your editor anyways...)
happykev
No maybe not but why should we have a different shade of blue? we dont play in dark blue. or darker blue. So we can read it, how about the writing being different then.
Matthew Le God
Inform the Man City researcher of this issue in the Data forum From what I can remember without loading the game to check, the Man City colours and in match graphics are fine imo
manc101
So we can read it, how about the writing being different then. We play in sky blue and white end of.
BP_Doosra
You sure you couldn't just change the whole screen to red or at least just the writing?
outlaw640
We play in sky blue and white end of. I don't think anyone was considering changing man city's strip, just their colour in the commentary bar so people can actually read it.
SI Staff Ter Posted August 25, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted August 25, 2008 I'm not sure changing the colours is the best thing here. I believe that the correct team colours in the game is a very important part of making the experience more authentic. I'm sure there are other things we can do to improve this than changing the team colours. And if you think Man City is bad, try managing Marseille
Nadessico
why not just put a black line/bold the text, surely that would be better and save losing team colours
auto98uk
why not just put a black line/bold the text, surely that would be better and save losing team colours Yeah just an option like "Text Commentary Border" that you can turn on/off if you wish

Though changing the colour/not changing the colour is likely to bring about complaints which ever way you do it - Having the option to change kits user friendily in game would be a nice feature for the future... Personally I find Dortmund the worst - Yellow text on a white background. (Though if anyone does want to change the colours, it is possible in game See Here - though not very user friendly, unless you use something like FMM). Well actually if you look at the majority of out shirts they Are Sky blue base colour and just about every shirt that has been made has white sponsors on it. It is WRONG as they are not City's colours niether would changing the colour of any other team be correct thing to do. It would bring around complaints from most people that support those clubs. There colours are there colours and they shouldn't changed there are plenty of other ways that you could make the text stand out without changing the colours of the team. Perhaps the same would work for the text? Alternately, perhaps a subtle dark shadow, the way that the team name is done at the top? Either of those would help the commentary a lot, for kits which have this problem.
BamaToon
The worst are those teams with the yellow text on the white background. That's painful for my old eyes to read.

Agen_Terminator
Surely the best solution is just to give the text some sort of border or shadow, if needed?
