Option to have declining minimum release clauses?

I just noticed an interesting aspect of Dani Alves' new contract with Barcelona. His minimum release ("buyout") clause starts at €150mil, and then goes down by €25mil per year until it reaches only €50mil (http://www.totalbarca.com/2011/news/alves-signs-new-contract/). Perhaps contract options don't need to be any more complicated than they currently are, but in the name of realism, this might be a worthwhile option to have.

Tricky to implement I guess but I think it would be a good addition.

Make sense that its happening in contracts irl. Would be a nice addition to FM.

are there many contacts like the one alves has just signed? I must admit its the first time i have read about a clause that works like that.

I cant see it being that hard to do. If they can make the players wages go up a percentage every year, im sure they can make the release clause go down a percentage every year.

I'd rather have it so my players minimum fee release clause goes up by a certain percentage a year than down, but as long as it goes both ways, then I think it might be useful

Indeed - if it turns out that it's just a one-off thing though, it may not be worth putting it into the code & interface. If it turns out to be frequent in top-level real life contracts, that's another thing entirely.

I dont understand the point of that in his contract? Why not just keep it at 150m the whole time. Who is going to pay 50m for Alves right now, let alone when hes 32?
