ToMexico!!
2027/28 - Winter Break Mid-Season break reached and we top the table once again. Much tighter this season as Olimpija really strengthened their squad for this season. In Europe we managed to reach the 1st KO Round once again in the Europa League beating Feyenoord in the last game of the group stage to qualify. We face a tough trip to Russia to face Zenit. ToMexico!!
Europa League 1st Knockout Round Wow! 3-1 down from the first leg we won 4-0 in Russia to go through. Scenes. Our reward is a tie with Spurs. Still got Dier, Alli and Erikson in the squad. Keinen Davis and Jacob Bruun Larsen lead the line.
ToMexico!!
European Exit and Youth Intake We won the home leg 3-2 but were defeated by Henrique at White Hart Lane. A very good run nevertheless. Onto the intake and its my new Maltese HoYD's first intake. No golden generation. Pretty poor, will stick with Galea unless someone much better becomes available. A handful of these players were signed.
ToMexico!!
Slovenian First League - 2027/28 Another season breezed through and another league title, our fourth in five seasons. We lost in the Slovenian Cup Final on penalties against Gorica. Savin didn't reach the heights of the previous two seasons but did manage 26 goals and break his own record for assists by managing 21. Hribersek replacement Lucas did well scoring 24 goals. Four other player reached double figures for the season including February arrival Jaime Cortes from Colombia who scored 10 goals. The new centre midfield partnership of Krabec and Vucicevic who are 18 and 19 respectively were pretty dominant and will have many potential suitors in the coming seasons. The income continues to grow, through sponsorship especially with over £2m a season now coming in. Lets hope we don't have another Hribersek situation with the board, we don't need to sell. Both the youth facilities and training facilities are being improved at a cost of just under £1m to begin with. ToMexico!!
European Improvements Up to 17th in the Competition Rankings. A massive leap up 47 places to 74th in Europe. More improvements in the Coefficients. Great news for Slovenia. Achievable European targets and domestic expectations are a given. I've been ruthless, released half a dozen players not good enough for the first team with the hope to rebuild with younger players with more potential. I need 2x CBs, a AML and another ST minimum. ToMexico!!
On Fire Savin has started the season on fire and Lucas hasn't bad either. 8 goals in 4 league games and 11 in 5 Champions League qualifiers and we've had a 0-0 thrown in there. ToMexico!!
Reaching the Group Stages We reached the EL Group Stage again, we were in the CL first though and we beat Floriana and Shirak quite comprehensively before meeting Legia where we failed to score in either leg. Into the EL we dropped and we were matched with Cliftonville who we dispatched quite easily. Some tough opponents here, Zenit who we beat in lasts seasons competition, Hoffenheim and Saint Etienne. Savin continued the form of his life, scoring four in his last game too, now at 25 goals in 13 games. He has now scored 165 goals in four and bit seasons since signing from Ukrainian non-league. ToMexico!!
Another Promising Player Gone I accepted this myself, Vucicevic had always made noises about moving to a bigger club and I kept holding off but I thought it was time to let him go, rather than disrupting the squads harmony. I signed him for 165k and was an integral part of last seasons midfield but I have options to replace him with and will look to bring in another MC or two for the future. ToMexico!!
Next to go? 12 goals and 8 assists in 11(9) games this season so far, been rotating my forwards more this season. Arsenal want him, Chelsea did want him. I can see bids coming in for him in the winter window. He's ambitious so will want to move.
ToMexico!!
Winter Break 2028/29 We reach the mid-season break in complete control of the league. Just one loss, to then bottom side Krsko, when I rotated the squad after a EL Group game. Savin slowed up in his goal scoring rate but still has 36 to his name in 34(4) games. He's backed up by Lucas (20 goals/19 assists) and Cortes (13 goals/8 assists). We're not as tight as I would like to be at the back so I'm going to look at replacing the full backs either in this window or the next. Europe was pretty poor, we were battered in the opener in France but soon got competitive, only to amass four points which isn't bad considering who we were up against. ToMexico!!
Crisis? Savin Injured not even from a match, just from "wear and tear", to be honest we've been pretty lucky with injuries. I think we will be find however, Lucas and Cortes are very capable and we have a good back up in Monteiro who I signed in the summer from Portugal. I may recall Gajic (another summer signing) who is loan at Gorica.
ToMexico!!
Youth Intake - 2029 A 'golden generation' First observation is four decent prospects, a closer look is they have good determination, an even closer look see's they're rubbish personalities. Overall there's two players with good personalities, both poor potential. Just the top four will be signed. Mlinaric is the best of the bunch, a decent determination, unambitious advanced forward. Needs work. I need a new HoYD.

ToMexico!!
Slovenian First League 2028/29 Another season over and a third straight title. Four losses this season, all away from home. Squad sorted by minutes played, the three strikers stand out, less minutes played through more rotation this season. As I said above, Savin was the star of the show before he was out injured for a number of months, he came back on the last game of the season to score twice in a 2-0 win which saw him leapfrog the also injured Lucas (broken ankle) to top the First League top scorer. Both the training and youth facilities were improved and the board agreed to further improvements at a cost of £1.1m. They are currently both at Below Average. We are financially sound as a club and the board have given us a huge budget which we again won't be spending much of unless a gem of a player is unearthed. ToMexico!!
Another High Profile Exit Another player leaves for Benfica, this time its Jaime Cortes for £3.5m + 50% sell on. He was in his last year of his contract and we couldn't reach an agreement on a new one. Waiting in the wings is Gajic, a Montenegrin national who was on loan to Gorica last season, he will slot into the rotation slot. I also have a number of young players that I've offered out on loan and the likes of Olimpija and Maribor are even offering to loan them, which shows the quality player I have been poaching from abroad. I expect to get points against Liberec.

ToMexico!!
Winter Break 2029/30 In complete control domestically. We've scored 59 so far this season and conceded just 13. Our highest and league record is 92 scored and 24 is the least conceded by ourselves once and Olimpija twice. Savin leads the way for goals scored and rating/MOMs. New inside forward Luiz Gustavo has 13 assists from AML. Both training and youth facilities are up to Adequate. ToMexico!!
Soooo Close!... Out on away goals , to score six goals against Roma is a fantastic achievement but we were 2-0 up away from home only to draw 2-2. Then to be 3-2 and 4-3 up in the second leg and go out is a kick in the balls. However another step in the right direction.
ToMexico!!
Youth Intake 2030 Oh no, the dreaded 'golden generation' Hmmm, poor. Better overall personalities but lower determination. No 5* PA, shows quality of the first team is progressing. U19's is looking quite threadbare so i'll sign a fair few of these. Talking of U19's here the squad. They don't play competitive fixtures, just friendlies against non-league first teams. I had only been signing playing with a combination of good personality/determination. Two foreign players in there who i've signed, the Austrian Serce who is out on loan was a free transfer from AKA Linz and Tunisian Mabrouk signed this winter window from Club Africain for 120k. ToMexico!!
Slovenian First League - 2029/30 Another title win, this one even more comfortably as we won the title with five games to spare. We fell short of our league record 90 points by just two, however we scored one more than our previous record of 92 goals but conceded far more than usual. We made it a double with a cup win on penalties, where we had just Lucas from our forward line fit to play. More rotation this season, especially in the central areas where we have a plethora of good players. Depth in wide areas has been our achilles heel. Savin continued his rich vein of goal scoring form, turning 29 this season I offered him a new 3 year deal. He broke his own record of 42 goals by notching 43 in 43(8) games along with 18 assists. His striker partners of Lucas (31 goals) and Gajic (24 goals) were admirable assistance. New signing Luiz Gustavo played AML and excelled scoring 13 goals and finished the season as top assister with 19. Finances improved greatly again, so much so the club cleared the debts from building the stadium. We gained two new sponsoship deals which now gives us an annual income of nearly £3m per season. The board have given me a huge budget to spend which I'm tempted to spend a fair chunk of it on new fullbacks, a first choice MR and a new GK. We really need to make inroads in qualifying for the CL Group stage. We invested in the facilities again at a cost of over £1m plus maxed out Youth Recruitment again. ToMexico!!
13 Seasons In... In the Premier League, only four different winners since the start of the save, Man Utd (6), Man City (4), Chelsea (2) and Liverpool (1). Marcelino manages Arsenal, Conte still at Chelsea, Zizou is at Liverpool, Simeone at City, Javier Aguirre at Utd. City have won the FA Cup six times and Carabao Cup nine times, including seven seasons in a row between 20/21 and 26/27. Juventus have dominated Serie A by winning nine times with Inter winning the other four titles. Juve are managed by Paulo Fonseca, Sarri at Milan, Juan Carlos Unzue at Inter. Barcelona won La Liga, three our the first four season before the Madrid dominance took over, Real Madrid winning seven times overall and Athletico three times. Mauricio Pellegrini manages Barca, Jardim at Real and Karanka at Valencia. Absolute domination with Bayern winning every season in the Bundesliga except in 2021/22 when Leverkusen won it. Dortmund finished 2nd eight times and 3rd the other five times. Gerardo Martino manages Bayern, Roger Schmidt at Dortmund and Hasenhuttl still at RBL. AS Monaco are current top dogs of the Champions League having won it the last two years and in 22/23. Bayern have won it three times, Real twice, Atletico twice and Juventus/Inter/Man City once each. Kobenhavn are current Europa League holders, Arsenal and Valencia have both won its three times, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Bayern, Monaco and Milan winning it once each. At the World Cup, Portugal won 2018, Brazil 2022 and Italy 2026. France won Euro 2020, England 2024 and Holland 2028. ToMexico!!
Perfect 10 We've started the season impressively, winning all 10 of the first 10 league games. Can we go unbeaten this season? European Qualification Along a strong start domestically we did well in Europe too, reaching the Champions League groups stages for the first time! Our three ties were all against Eastern European clubs and it took a penalty shootout to beat Dinamo Zagreb. A tough group but which group isn't in the big boy competition. ToMexico!!
Champions League Group E OK, we picked up just one point but it was one point more than I expected. We lost every game by a solitary goal, so we were competitive at least. In the last two games we played a much rotated first XI so if we had been at full strength maybe we could have got something? Now to concentrate on the league campaign and fingers crossed we can go the season unbeaten for the first time.
ToMexico!!
Winter Break 2030/31 We reach the winter break after bowing out of continental football but we remain strong domestically. Our run of wins ended at 15 straight before drawing to Aluminij, we then went on to record three more draws in our next six games. However we find ourselves 18 points clear of second placed Maribor and a further nine points ahead of Gorica in 3rd place. So far this season its been Gajic who has taken up the scoring mantel with 22 to his name, Savin has 16 and Lucas has 15. Croatian midfielder Mujanovic has contributed nine goals from CM whilst Gustavo also has nine from AML. Gajic has been the latest player subject to interest from some of the bigger European clubs, Inter, Spurs and Benfica had all been sniffing round the Montenegrin international but I've tied him down to a new 4-year deal until 2034, so interest has receded. ToMexico!!
In with the New With a few clubs sniffing around some of my most promising players I thought I would have a scout around and sign some new youngsters to supplement the youth team and potentially make appearances from the bench. Had this signing lined up for nearly two seasons, the young Brazilian joins from Fortezeala for 150k to potentially replace Savin in season or two. A 60k punt from Buducnost, the club I signed Gajic from. Great personality/determination combination will ensure he improves vastly. Has played for the Montenegrin U21's already at the age of 17. A young Czech midfielder signed from Slovacko for 400k (his release clause) again a Driven personality and high determination. A young Slovenian central defender who was signed for 60k from Second League side Krsko. Decent potential Slovenian nationals are hard to come by without have to pay extortianate fee's. Saving the best until last. Novotny, another Czech, my Nedved (maybe). A 425k signing from Bohemians, is an AMC which I don't use at the minute but I may tweak my formation especially for him in a year or two's time. No golden generation but he's excited by Anton Mlinaric. Oh dear. Mlinaric has potential but he's a GK. Personalities overall are quite poor and determinations are varied. Looking again we have our second foreigner, an Italian and he's not from just over the border either. He's come all the way from just south of Milan. I will sign him however despite his poor ability. ToMexico!!
Takeover? This isn't our first potential takeover, the first one failed and it was a possibly Tycoon. Although for me a tycoon would have slightly spoilt the game for me, having built this club up from the barest of bones. This second one is a consortium, we shall see! ToMexico!!
Former Player Watch I tend to keep tabs on some of the former players that I have sold and the potential benefits I can reap through sell-on clauses. Hribersek, the most gifted player to come through our ranks so far. He's just signed a new contract worth an amazing £71k per week, more than twice I pay my whole squad back in Slovenia. He's worth just short of £30m and I have a clause for 40% on any profit over what will probably be £5.5m when he scores his 10th goal for Man Utd. Dejan Vucicevic still remains in the Benfica II worth less than half what they paid for him, his contract runs out at the end of next season and I have a 50% profit clause tied in. Jaime Cortes is in the same boat, well team, SLB B, worth £1.5m but a slightly longer contract, if he's sold Benfica owe me 50% of any sale. Sebastian Derenda, I have no clauses tied in because we lost him to his release clause but the young Slovenian is now worth £4.4m and was loaned to Olimpija from parent club Milan for 825k two seasons ago, where he scored 12 goals for the club. ToMexico!!
Slovenian First League - 2030/31 Another season and another double. A loss and too many draws for my liking. However a win is a win, lets describe it as a transitional season where we had a new GK, RB, CB pairing, rotated CM more and Savin began to slow down. In the cup final it took penalties to get the win, we had a number of players out injured plus international call-ups but that meant Novotny got a chance and he stepped up to score one of the shoot-out penalties. Savin still scored 25 goals for the season, Gajic forgot where the net was it seemed and ended with 28 after reaching the winter break with 22 goals. Another slight increase in sponsorship but it was the CL prize money which helped the finances. Due to the good finances, the board took bonus payments of 2.4m and we were hit with tax bill of 2m, strangely the board announced a reduction in transfer revenue to 80% Improvements to the facilities though. ToMexico!!
Transfers Out My thinking behind letting these players leave albeit only one permanently was to try and help improve the teams closest to me, primarily for them in Europe more than domestically. Sory was moaning about the lack of playing time, since Zajc and Pele had formed a formidable partnership at the back. Spasic (the young Montenegrin) joins him as first choice CM at Maribor. Francsico and Murray join Olimpija again for the season again both as first team players. Another player who could and probably will be leaving is Bogicevic, the young Serbian AML winged about my initially rejected bids from both Milan teams. I eventually got Milan to counter their offer to total up to £1m then both Benfica and Spurs made bids. I'm definitely becoming a feeder club to Benfica if he signs for them. Shame as he was going to be playing back up to Gustavo this season. EDIT: He signed for Spurs
ToMexico!!
Route to the Group Stage A poor 0-0 draw in Kazakhstan opened qualification proceedings but a resounding home leg win saw us set up a tie with Cork. We smashed the Irish side 10-0 on aggregate to be drawn against Czech side Slovan Liberec. Two away goals saw us take control, a nervy 0-0 home leg followed but we were through to the CL Group Stage once again. Tough group again, we meet Chelsea again from last seasons group stage but also Porto and German giants Bayern.

ToMexico!!
Winter Recap Forgot to take a screenshot of the winter break table and I've played two games since realising. However we are comfortably top of the table. In the Champions League we fared better than I expected. We secured back to back wins over Porto and were unlucky not to get a point or two more. I hope the 5-4 loss to Bayern is the game of the tournament, we were 5-1 down before Lucas smashed in a hatty. However, we still finished bottom of the table but only by a solitary point. We've made two transfer this winter, both youngsters. Brkic, a wide midfielder who joins from his native Croatia. Whilst in a nod to @Jimbokav1971 we signed a young Icelandic defensive midfielder from KR, then immediately loaned him out to Rudar. Another player to leave was David Vidmar who came in through the 2019 intake, he amassed over 400 appearances for the club. He wanted first team football, something I could not give him. We've also had our youth intake. A better group for potential, finally personalities match up with their determination attribute. For me Uros Zajc is the pick of the litter despite having lower potential.
