jamesh2k Posted May 13, 2007 Share Posted May 13, 2007 Right I decided to start a AFC Wimbledon game using the swap feature in the edt files - using v3 in 7.02 1st season I made 4 signing that won me the league at the first attempt winning the league - keith Thomas, Nicholas Baker, Jack Clifford and Joe Anyinsah 2nd season my link with palace helped masivly getting Charlie Sheringham, Tom Lyons and James Dayton from palace. Also signing Anthony Grant and loaned Conor Sinnott from reading. After having a stormer of a season and finishing 2nd behind rushden on 85 points I made the play offs v mansfield and losing my 1st choice keeper in the 2nd minute of the 1st leg play off I made it through to a final with woking after winning aet, and won the final 2-1. successive promotions with this peach of a tactic. If anything tactics are much more important in the lower leagues as all the players tend to have quite similar abilities.....at the top level there's no tactic that can protect u from a moment of brilliance from the likes of Henry. Got off to a dodgy start, 2 losses and a draw, but I kept repeating to myself that I had a few new players and they would take time to gel, then the tactic clicked and I had a great run of results. Think I had minor re-ranking in november, then a major one in January, had some terrible results against the bottom teams, but some of the suggested tweaks helped a lot. Interesting the impact of team talks, I never expected a win, very rarely used disappointing, used angry once (couldn't help it!), mainly stuck to sympathise and pleased, with odd sensational if it was a big win. Got much better results than when I always expected a win if I was favourite, and was angry/disappointed if I lost when I was favourite. Excellent tactic! First 25 games: W15 D4 L6 GS47 GA25 which doesn't look bad until you see how they are doing in the EPL 17 games: W8 D3 L6 GS:28 GA: 21!!! And frankly u can win everything with man u on the game's default tactic, so i suggest u have a look at ur player disipline and team talks mate, cos with a top team the tactics actually make very little difference. But with Barcelona, i ruled the world with it! Its really strange. I tried socks, one of my colleagues told me to try it in england, fine for eight games with some of my own changes actually one eight in a row and then started losing and losing and drawing. Went back to FuSS V4 and the slump continues no matter what i do! I dont want to leave my fav club Blackburn but come the end of the season i could be fired, the slump has knocked us back from 1st and 3 points ahead to 5th and 19 points behind the leaders derby!!! But if u want them to play a more attacking role you can do the following: -slightly increase creative freedom. -make them slightly less denfensive. -remove back arrows. -set crossing and run with ball to mixed. However I believe that having Daniel Alves on the right of defence and just giving him little creative freedom and mixed forward runs is like sacrificing him . This tactic doesn't really work for my Deportivo team. I've been Tweaking like crazy for almost a season, and I can't really see any advantages !?! This Tactic might be good when playing with Chelsea, but any tactic is almost good enough for that team. Playing 0-0 against teams like Getafe, Real Sociedad or loosing 0-1. Mooving the defensive line, tackling had and on on...... Its really a mediocre tactic in my perspective. Dont be such a twat and think before you type, this tactic has a high success rate, maybe you constantly tweeking it and not giving it 12-15 games to settle in with your players is the damn problem, maybe you ride them so hard in pre/during/post game talks that their morale is so wack that they dont want to learn the tactic. alot goes into making a tactic work, give it time...and dont be such a doosh next time, this person took time out of their life to make us enjoy ours better. It's one of the better tactics around and the most consistent of them all (in my point of view)!! Although i have a question and maybe it's already answered and i am terribly sorry if this is so and putting you on hard labour cause of this..but her it comes!! Do i have to adapt the player instructions on each player?? for instance i am playing with barnsley and bought Terry Cooke but he's not good at several individual instructions such as forward runs, run with ball (see picture).. In your tactic these settings stands on often but he has not the capabilty's to play these settings.. Do i need to adjust it to his standards?? Yes I have afew new tactics that are now my stable tactic, but I can't really be bothered to do the write-up and release them to what is now a half-dead community that seems to just be waiting for an update or FM08. Did the double first season(league and FA), and another double in season 2(league and Carling) season 2 I only lost 3 games in all comps. lost to chelsea in the FA Cup(cech MOM) and chelsea again at the bridge in CL(4-1 pounding, although my keeper had a 5 - I had better chances AGAIN!), and lost 3-2 to Charlton. Teams are starting to suss me out though, mainly away, which is no surprised as i have been using for 5 seasons,lol, but my team is still grinding out results. Just thought I would share a finding that I haven't seen posted yet. It relates to getting the most out of the MCa position, I know people have had little bits of success in giving it the free role or trying to make the player arrive late in the box to score goals. My success in this area has been to find a set-piece specialist for the role, in my case I signed Nakamura, in my current save he has 20 for free kicks, 18 for crossing, 18 for corners, 18 for penalty taking. The results of this have been a few goals direct from free kicks, but the major difference is assists, he has provided loads of goals from corners and free kicks out wide - they all seem to land straight on the target mans head.
