  1. Thanks for the kind words. I was surprised that I hadn't ever come across Kristiansen before. Gibson is a decent enough player and I've had him do a good job at championship clubs. Just not good enough for this level.
  2. That is quite the clear out! Look forward to seeing who you bring in. Also guess you would be promoting some youth team players?
  3. Marcus Edwards is the one that I missed out on. Interested to see how he does for you. Only problem is the work rate.
  4. Great intro posts! Good luck with this will keep an eye out.
  5. One last piece of business for the summer! It's an emotional transfer with the prodigal son returning home, and we needed a good back-up for Dele Alli too.
  6. Very much doubt it! But it's fine they are decent players and will play a role in their last season with the club. Just very over-paid.
  7. A quick update on the summer business : Unless something drastic happens, I think this is all we will be doing in terms of transfers. A sneak peak, for the first time this season we actually had a positive bank balance!! Sadly, it has since returned to the negative but it's only down 5 million now. So safe to say the club seems back on a sound financial footing. How did we do this? Essentially - a positive balance of approx. 30 million from the summer transfers - sponsorship revenues going up and all coming in - prize money for finishing 3rd in the league Now the moves: 3 major departures. Leeds came in for Mykolenko and while he is a good player it was too good an offer. The transfer of Moise Kean was actually hard coded since when we started the game. And we also managed to get a good price of 9.5m for our 3rd choice LB. Coming in as replacements were 2 very solid looking Scandinavians. I am glad to say both players found by my scouting team and I have no prior experience of them from previous saves. Victor will be wrestling with Omar Richards for the LB spot. I am quite excited about him. Berg I am looking to groom as a successor for Allan who is entering the last year of his contract. Our weekly wage bill has also settled at around 1.8m after renewals for both DCL & Richarlison. I have given up on trying to move out or two top earners Allan & Yerry Mina. They will both see out their final year with us as squad players and then leave on a free transfer.
  8. Cheers mate! He's a beast! That was a proper fairy-tale. Sadly I think those days are gone IRL as well. You now need 90+ points to even stand a chance of winning the EPL.
  9. Congratulations what a thumping season in the Championship! And glad to see that the work permit committee came to their senses
  10. Interesting what you mentioned about the keepers. I didn't know that. Anyway it's definitely a good deal. The key for you right now I guess is keeping hold it Dembele and Aouar. How has he been btw?
  11. I couldn't agree more with this. More and more I'm trying to play FM in a way that would be realistic IRL. As for the old players in your squad it will certainly add an interesting dimension. I think it's an often overlooked part of the game. For me recently Kovacic changed the entire narrative of my Fenerbahce side and led us to winning the europa. And in my current save at Everton Arturo Vidal came in at the ripe old age of 35 and is rolling back the years in the hardest league in the world. Plus he's a team leader in 2 months from joining.
  12. Congratulations on the europa win!! Massive. Love the analysis you've done on the squad. Onwards and upwards from here. Also Che Adams, really!?
  13. By the way, we did actually win some silverware this season: From the above, Philip Jones is definitely the pick of the academy boys, and he also made his first team debut this year, breaking a club record in the process. I am quite excited about him. Sadly, the intake was pretty average which is why I didn't separately post about it. This was our most often used tactic and line-up for the season. As you can see, everyone performed pretty well, with DCL obviously being our top player by a distance. Special mention to Oumar Solet who does not feature here due to injury but has had a good solid first season in English football. I am very happy to say that Everton players cleaned up the EPL awards as well, with DCL winning both the golden boot & player of the year, and Branthwaite getting awareded for young player of the season. And that officially wraps the season up!
  14. Thank you! Thanks! Yes banking on that UEFA $$$ Absolutely yes! From my prior FM experience first season in UCL is usually a 3rd place group finish and entry into the Europa knock-outs.
