  1. Normally, its their fan side that talks louder than logic. I did that in previous versions, but this year still holding out. Why? I still hurt what they did to me and others due to FM Touch. It was endless of years telling me and other, how SI were commit to Touch/Classic mode, when I know now it wasn't true. I saw between the lines and little importance they gave to the game mode. Two years ago, if it was not for pressure here in the community, they wouldn't have release any news about it. But you might say, but touch returned this year. Well it return under special conditions, they made exclusive deal, not because out the good of their hearts, but with a lot of money involved. Also we don't know the full extent of that deal. When the deal with Apple Arcade ends or FM24 is released, what will happen to FM 23? This hasn't been responded... yet... BUT, I know it will not be something it will be answer to us. So I will wait for actual more news about FM23 and other versions, if those get released after the beta launched and loose the 20% off, I have no issue to be patience and wait for better deal in the future. We always know there are bugs that prevent actual game save. if the last few years, bugs in the editor are so scandalous during release and always take them 1 month or two to fix them, I have no rush to buy this game. My plan is to buy it March... let us see if I can hold that long. Done, actual send any kind of approval to SI at this point. I feel SI have yet to properly apologize to FM Classic users. Note: also the things I like to know, are never announced. Editor or if the 3D Kits are the same or not. that sort of stuff. I'm used to wait.
  2. Of all of these discussions, which one was actually with SI members? I'm not considering, moderators or the usual SI members that are more hands down here at the forums, like Neil, Lucas or Desmond.
  3. Despite wanting FM to have FIFA graphics, that ship has sailed. Don't really believe that SI can deliver FIFA graphics in the next 20 years or in our live times. If the last 14 years they didn't push the envelop, at least to provide better experience for us users, they won't now. Like Miles statement 14 years ago, FIFA graphics ain't their goal, they want realistic football... Let me tell you something, that is also EA's and Konami's dream. And their graphics are far superior to FMs. But they ain't there yet, and they never will be. Because Real Life, can't be mimic. you know why? You may call it luck, you may call it, providence or God's will. That can't be programed.
  4. Touch has been demoted to an Apple Arcade game. I say demoted, because it used to be available to many other platforms, from PC/mac to ipad/tabelts. PS5 and Xbox, will have the console edition. Difference between the two? Don't know, no one does.
  5. Let's us see if things improve more that now are more people at SI. But I'm ain't holding my breath.
  6. I'm biases, since the first integration of the 3D, it should have aimed to more FIFA (or whatever is going o called in the future) standards. Let me go ahead and not have people waste there time: BUT "FM isn't FIFA!" or "What SI should focus on, not FIFA-like graphics or 100 animations for a bicycle kick or other cosmetic fluff." or "FM is about the manager part." This is only a few of thousands and thousands of phrases out there defending FM, no matter what. For me the biggest issue of 3D is quite simple, doesn't look real to me. Its like watching Actual Soccer with better graphics. I mean, I get enthusiastic and enjoy to see highlights of Sensible Soccer (90's game) on youtube that actual seeing highlights from any Football Manager game. Yeah, I'm a 2D guy, and SI managed to downgrade that. Top Eleven 3D is far from perfect, has lot of things I have issues with, but for me the fluidity seems more realistic. So yes, I think Top Eleven had better 3D graphics then FM. its what you get when the head of SI has the goal for one main features of the game is so low, that he stated FIFA graphics isn't their goal. Regarding just having headline features announced, for over a week and nothing else, I'm on the fence. At one side, I don't expect nothing exciting or new to FM23. A few improvements here and there. Then we are going to finally have information about other versions, but somehow will not answer some questions raised in the forums. Nothing new there, either. On the other side, I expect more, a lot more announcements and features. To be fair, if this is the aim of these kind of features, save your money. Make a date release announcement, when pre-orders are available. Then have a few blog posts, a few feature trailers about a week or so before the release of the beta, announcing new improvements and call it a day. Have just, a 40 minute video, when you release Woman's football quality features. I think that is release game plan. You will have pre-orders without any new features announced, anyway. It will be awesome opportunity for Miles to do whatever he did on his twitter... still don't know if it was to say thanks to the fans or to shut up critics... Nor will I loose sleep over this. One of those mysteries of the universe, i guess.
  7. The game is going to be release on 8th November. The beta is going to be around 2 weeks before release, that points to the 25th October exactly two weeks before the 8th. I predict at the earliest is going to be by 21st or at the latest 28th of this month, you know being weekend and all.
  8. FM23 is only 64 bit, it is not the first version to be 64 bits as minimum requirements, so that alone, cuts most people with old laptops and PCs. it is not in terms of legacy systems, but the argument should be more inclined of lower spec computers. Those entry level, small laptops, kind of systems. Okay, so at this pace, just one to three blog posts until the beta is released? It's been a week since the headline feature video was released. There has been no new news since then. We are about 3 weeks since the launch of the Beta.
  9. Good, with the limits of twitter has now with non-twitter users and forcing them to login, this is nice to hear. Have no excuses to go there.
  10. I won't hijack the thread any longer, but I was under impression that they will still be arrange friendlies. But it is case of testing, or any SI personnel clear this doubts for us.
  11. Wenger original plan was making international game in November and Fabruary, only two interruptions I was thinking more in lines of January and February (since its in periods most leagues stop, due to vacation (in case those that play between March and October/November) and Winter stoppage (between August to May) or end of season sort of event like American sports. My fear i thought the dates of international football would be hardcoded.
  12. I personally, don't see these features, features. They are improvements upon something that already exists. For me a Feature, is something new, that doesn't exists in game and its added to the game, like woman's football. That is a feature. All of these announcements, what it can be considered a feature is the UEFA Licenses (the competition are there it can be considered an improvement, but the names weren't there in gam, so it is a feature in my books) and Dynamic Mangaer Timeline (this one can be debatable). The others are improvements and extensions of something already exists. I For one, have no issue for SI have year of no new features to the game, in making fixes, they are improving upon what already exists, for me its plus. They have done this (no improvements) before in certain modules of the game and no one complained, and in some occasions quite the opposite happen, they were praised upon. An actual list what has been improved upon in the editor... well not sure, for the rest of the community, but its important at least for me. One thing, I find an improvement in International Football, is being able to shift the dates of them in the Editor. Why? Because all of the half thoughts that was presented by Arsene Wenger in the reform of International Football, there was one that I actually liked and like to make in FM. International football condensed in span of month or two. Not this, crappy system we have now.
  13. I'm thinking more of in lines being now licensed competitions, they can't be removed or changed in the editor.
  14. I see what the path SI wants for the game, but I don't particularly agree with, because it sacrificing too much game play for the sake of realism. but hey, we live democratic community, dysfunctional at times sure, but all people have equal voice.
  15. Well dude, if it wasn't for limit of technology (PCs and MACs not having CD player and Operating Systems being now 64 bit, instead of 32 that game was) I would be still playing FM07. But that doesn't mean I would contribute to the newer versions. I mean I always bought FM for nearly 11 years. Just because you say it, doesn't mean it is universal truth... We are all here, because we are in a way or another FMers (meaning we are Football Managers fanatics). Sure we don't usually agree what the priorities should be to the game. But we all in a way or another contribute for SI to continue to produce more games, thus for me gives me the right to criticize SI if they are doing poor job or not.
  16. It is now showing in Full HD. Yesterday it was not. it was in 720p I checked. So something really happen.
  17. Most likely. I also would like confirmation. The real question is, if we don't like this system, can we change it in the editor?
  18. Despite my criticisms, I want to give a shout to all personnel that actually implemented these features, since we all know how hard you work to do this. That is not how youtube works. If you post higher res video, it provides lower res for people who have low res screens.
  19. So here is small review of these feature announcements, since is already late, I have tomorrow early raise due to work. The good: -The planner is actually a good feature that I might use to plan my team out. The Meh: - Match Ai and Animations - It would be surprise if they don't announce improvement to this, so it isn't a surprise. - Supporter Confidence - Really depends how this will effect in game wise. Knowing the debacle of the Youth Dynamic Rating (whatever it was called), don't expect much from this. - Managers Timeline - Huh... really nice feature for those who players who have short memory i guess... yay? I for one don't see the point, if you like this feature... yay? The bad: - Recruitment revamp... well aside from the fluff that adds to the scouting is welcomed, the really bad part is another layer of making this game more slower, is now you can pre-negotiate the player contracts... What in FM24, you have to invite the agent for dinner?!?!? Play a bit of squash or golf to establish pre-pre-negotiations? The horrible: - Again, how can a business with such importance as SI, has modest budget for their games, to hire a new staff and all of that... how they cannot afford to film this in proper Full HD? I not requesting you filmed in 4K, but every iphone or smartphone today films in 4k, heck, every budget pocket camera films in FULL HD nowadays. Please do better, in this regard. It isn't that difficult. If many of youtubers that cover FM on weekly basis can do full HD 60 fps, so can you. Stop trying to be cheap. Final Note: - Uefa competitions, really nice addiction to the game. But pretty pointless for me, since I either erase it make my World Champions League or use Dallan's wonderfull file. Specially, if this means the shambles of a system is to be implemented 2023/2024 season is already included in this game. I for one say instead spending that money to bunch of corrupt officials that simply are friends to big clubs after the ESL situation. I would have SI to give the money to War Child then these... (if you got it for free, I apologise). But another important note regarding to this, which is making me hold off in buying the game in every front, if... when we get the actual game and users go to the editor and you can't delete these competitions because of licensing issues, I said this I will skip this version or any other versions if this is set in place. Seriously, i Think SI have run out of ideas of what to add to the game... it is basically as I expected... more fluff. Adding more stuff to drag the time of a season even longer. I will wait for Console and Touch editions features to be released, to really ponder if buying this game is worth or not. But here is message to SI... Release already the women's football so that we can have really proper BIG new feature.
  20. Major criticism... 720p? The video is 720p in 2022? My first Iphone 1st generation SE recorded at full HD. Come one guys. :P Sorry, carry on!
