  1. Neil responded to that question on the link provided by @9craiggibson: "FM23 will require Rosetta for M1 and M2 Macs. If you want to play FM23 without it, you could play FM23 Touch via Apple Arcade."
  2. Not questioning what you said is false, as genuine curiosity question, when was that?
  3. So early today, made some nasty comments regarding to Miles, i would like to apologize to him and this community. My comments about Miles are the sort of thing that made devs not participate in these forums and its the complete opposite of what i wish to happen here. More interaction between us and devs. My dislikes towards to certain people here or any of SI devs, will remain private. I think it needs to be both... a Simulation Game. Where you experience the life as manager and also has bits that make the game more fun. The game should be about genuine what makes football, football, not what is portrayed in real life, this money focus world we live in. it won't never be truly simulation of real life, because I think legally Si can't do it, because it mean, they also should place the game the darkest side of real life football.
  4. To be fair, after reading this... it that they're unequivocally and completely guarantee my concerns about FM in general. SI is comfortable with the success of the game and the speed development of the game of these years (specially of recent years). Sure that is their prerogative, plan or Master plan or whatever you wish to call it. They are also very comfortable with the amount of communication with this community they have. Again, their views... One I cannot simply agree with and i will not bother everyone with the details, since I explained myself, quite often. If you do change your ways and communicate more with your official community, is a welcome change, but if its not... things will only get worse, as people will loose interest in coming here. If wasn't for especial part of this community, moderators, and users who take piece of their time to help answer and explain question and doubts of other users, a thing that should be your job, these forums would be dead... Dead as door nail. While you state that you closely read these forums and make sure it's amplified into the studio, let me take that with a grain of salt. The true heart and soul of these forums are people like Rashidi, krlenjushka, Lucas, Nine-iron and michaeltmurrayuk and plenty of others, who's name my mind can recall right now (sorry). To finalize... again, I thank you to take the time to post here, but don't take me wrong when I say I will take with grain of salt. Things in my view, aren't ok, they are far from ok, I for one fed up with these political correct answers... there is severe lack of communication with this community, Not okay with overall development of the game, which I believe can be far better then it is today. and if you don't see that, i start to doubt how much of this community your colleagues do actually read or even listen to you, Neil. Again Neil, highly respect you, but I starting not believing this corporate response. Once more, feel free to disagree with me :P
  5. FIFA 23 doesn't have J. League, they lost the license, since J league and EA didn't come to agreement. So there is hope. :P
  6. No one is playing or will play FM for graphics (match graphics specially). They go to be manager of the team. However, being manager means that match engine or its 3d graphics is a core feature of the game... at least for me.
  7. No one is playing or will play FM for graphics (match graphics specially). They go to be manager of the team. However, being manager means that match engine or its 3d graphics is a core feature of the game... at least for me.
  8. I'm not under any illussion, that the people complain is the majority, because if they were, SI had change things around. Now, if we are in a majority, not expect any changes for FM23. Maybe some procedural and more interactions that changes are in the way. Maybe that is what Miles blog will be in few days (probably a week or so), will be about or not. Don't work at SI, but I'm just saying my personal opinion and what other users say on other avenues of www. For example the majority places I have seen, most people seemed to unlike Miles facegen. Are they the majority, don't know, I have no metrics for that. Even if they are Majority, most devs seemed to not care about it. Because facegens and graphics are being critize that gone worse since FM17, yet, they have made little progress in that regards. Again my personal view. Why not, as marketing campaign for the new FM, get some players on video and have the comment on their FM numbers? I know it isn't new since FIFA does this already.
  9. No, but players to are tempted to migrate to the better game overall. This my assumption, not forcing this view on anyone. I believe if a studio showed up and presented the same quality of game as FM, but with better graphics, a lot of users here would migrate to the new game. They want the best bang for their buck. Since there is no competition for FM. FM is the only choice. In 2012 I did try FIFA Manager, due to FM being far too complicated (the reason why they release Classic later that year), but FIFA Manager didn't satisfied me either, but thought that FIFA manager had better graphics then FM.
  10. I think you are not considering that already exists a very good game, called Motorsport Manager, that directly competes with F1 Manager.
  11. I have been saying this for years... yet, here we are I don't doubt, that isn't true... but that line has been said for few years now. I can bet you in every year they hired more people and how they moved the HQ to accomodate more people. But seeing the evolution of the graphics of this game, don't expect much of revolution from Women's football. I'm excited to women's football, not with what it will bring... it simply a new feature in concept of that word. What we had these last few years were upgrades, with few exceptions that were features, but probably a handfull of them. I wouldn't mind spending your in game salary, if that effected your personality in game, like you buy expensive house, car or watch, your more metaralistic or exhibitionist or if you have expensive parties every week, your more of playboy, but if you buy a modest car, you are more inclined to being down to earth. What type of personality will affect how your avatar approaches players, agents and what not. That said, this is among the lowest priorities to add to the game, there are far more important stuff to improve. Thanks for the information. But what makes me disappointed is that you a moderator, has to post this and not a dev.
  12. Facegens... For some reason, this will haunt me in my nightmares... Thanks Miles, you can just rock me tae sleep tonight!!!!!!! Its like they liked us to do this negative criticisms... amazing.
  13. More stuff to add to a season duration. Next update by Miles, perhaps something good, but ain't holding my breath. But hey, they called this stuff the correct word: Upgrades and not Features... YES!!!!!!!!
  14. I wouldn't demand for SI devs participate every day on the Official feedback, but things like: "Look we adjusted injuries rate or match engine got some tweaks or we tweak how players talk to you or any minor tweak and we would like feedback from you guys." Would be welcomed. The community would be more on the look out for that sort of tweaks and give more accurate feedback to devs. For example.
  15. This isn't a request thread, since we have a sub-forum for that. This isn't also a thread of asking questions about how to do stuff on the editor, since we have thread for that. This is simply a thread that the editor community can join in and talk about the state of the Editor, what would be the most urgent features or fixes the editor community need to be changed or simply expose some things the editor does, that frustrates you. Or asking SI why certain things have been done that way. Maybe talking about it, can also help SI see what priorities we editors, that work with the tool value more for Editor they aren't aware. Hopefully, someone that works in Editor decides to interact with us. Answering what they (SI) feel need to be answer. So please, be nice and be pleasant. I think I can speak for everyone that we all want little more interaction with SI in this regard. The goal of this thread, try bring out Editor community closer to SI devs. Venting your frustrations on SI devs will not make them listen any easier. What I really want: I had this idea, since last year, that I talked to Neil and realised that we never, ever had add a list of new features and changes to the Editor with each version. It would be nice, even if it is not 1000 new features, to have the list of what's new and what has changed, to fully use every extant of these features. It would be nice if this list was release before the game is release, but on the day of the release is also nice. I also, think, that a guide to do basic stuff is also needed, specially for newcomers that want to venture into the basic, specially to the advanced rules. A form to enter massive amount of data, like 100 or 300 or 1000 clubs at once with their respective stadiums, for those that want to change an entire club nation or adding clubs to the lowest divisions. Some sort of excel or even in SI in house file, that we can store our data on, so it easy to save or move to new versions of the game. A way to have new created stuff (new club, new Player), have its own ID number. I think it would help a lot for us to move files from one version to the next. it ain't issue if you make 1 club, but if you do 300 or more and you want to add logos and kits and backgrounds, having to go through 300 lines in the config file to change the new IDs to have correct logos and kits with correct club, can be level of frustration that can be avoided by this. Some sort of SI dev, top 10 creative edit files, or honourable mentions to bridge editors and SI devs together. The likes: The editor in general and the ability to edit leagues is what makes FM really stand out other games. But recent additions was the Coefficients to the basic editor. Thanks for that. Frustrations One thing that I find frustrates is when making a new club, we have to input, maximum capacity of it, expansions and what not, then we have to another screen to set, minimums, normal and maximum attendees of that club. It's repetitive and annoying if you are making for multiple teams. To be part of idea suggested of entering massive amount of data. The validation system, should be more robust and error massages should even more specific. The errors of moving an old file to newer version, should be able to group the errors together, instead of scrolling more 10.000 changes, can be lot frustration, to the point I prefer to start a new at each new version is released. A different way to define the kits. As is, too time consuming. maybe sort of a place to set up your team colours, Background, Foreground and line colours, then at the side or beside that define the style of teams kit, text and dot config. Maybe a randomise button for this, but maintains the colours set up above. Questions to SI: What is something that is in the editor, that we editors overlook and you think can make us editors lives easier? Maybe some tips and tricks? In creating a club on the Editor, what is the most important information to have more balance teams in top league or lower league? What is part you think we can not fill, that the game is good to setup? If I want for example in MLS, Canadian teams qualify Champions CONCACAF competition or made up one via the league instead of Canadian Championship. Much like to mimic with Swansea qualifies to European competitions via the english leagues. I think that is all for now. Sorry for all text.
  16. There are ways to deal with Trolls, in my view. if the moderators don't see it, there is report button, for us users to use it. But avoiding this community, because of some bad apples are insensitive to them... is not working in my view. But... that is big but, I'm not requesting for SI to post everything on the development process, some insights would be welcome, nor am I saying this is ALL what we are working on. But actual Dev diaries of features they do know will be in their next game (depth and individual features, not log to one single video, actual interviews and in depth exploration of the feature). Have montage of them banging the wall at 3 am to show how difficult to do these features (I'm exaggerating of course). An announcement like women's football, well ahead in advanced was welcome change, it was announcement that was not included an expiration date, but this is where we are heading. What I'm talking about is more of Tips and tricks stuff they used to do. Answer some questions, that devs know we users are overcomplicating and show us the simple way to use that tool. Or just simply answer some questions a five minute stuff that doesn't occupy the dev entire time. Or a video like a day in match engine engineer or the diference between Miles and his alter FM player and dress Miles with some sensors and shows how it translate to the match engine. Or run down blog of feature, from idea to the game. Or something in the lines, what do Si and devs like to be suggested more, or something simple feedback of certain tool. Or a AMA on any social media or even here, on the forum. Things that improves transparency and trust... between us and the devs. But also show us, this is not simply a push of the button and the featured appeared made. Maybe, just maybe it can tone down the trolls. Look I have been insensitive before, but probably if there was more transparency, like saying in 2018: Look we want to phase out FM Touch and actually improve speed and season duration on FM. We have our plans, but as always we are open to suggestions from our fanbase. or we want touch to make exclusive to iPad and tablets. How can we improve FM to our users that played Touch on Pc and Mac. Something along those lines.
  17. Dev work is hard... we all know that. I even applaud to some of the stuff Si has done, like some flexibility to put our ideas into the game. But again, in my view (feel free to disagree) is not to critic SI personnel, because I don't like that feeling. I don't like writing the posts above makes me feel drained and out of energy... too much negativity one go. But I feel I need to speak out... too much time being ignored, too much time feeling that we are one universe and SI in another. I don't believe SI will change their ways, because the pre-sales record without any announcements is proof of their success and how they handle stuff. In the end, vote with your wallet, I guess.
  18. The FIFA, yes, I agree, they had been insidious to try you spent more money on it. But there are ways to play FIFA, without paying any more money. I simply play solo (the cups, leagues, made up tournaments and career mode) or multiplayer with friends. Don't touch Ultimate Teams (I try it before, but seeing you have to spent money to further develop your team) or any that stuff of multiplayer leagues and cups. Despite EA being insidious for you to spent more money, I think there are far more insidious game studios, like Ubisoft, with chopping part of your game and best weapons behind a pay wall. I mean that is common practice in many games. The majority of mobile games are like that. I'm glad that Si never venture that road, despite trying to test the waters with FM Touch with Unlockables... As for the community, I agree that developers got a lot of Trolls, but that is one of the reason that we got moderators, so that they clean and punish the abusers... (can we call them trolls? Abusers is for me far more predatorial term, thanks), anyway these trolls, can be easily avoided if Mods, punish them if they break any forum rule. Because if they are simply annoying, ignoring them is the best solution. Yes I know sometimes is hard to do. I do also like SI had a request thread (guess has its own forum), no issues there. if they use it... I like to believe they do, but small part of me is saying: is just smoke screen? I seen only one time, when actually saw listening to the community, was when they release the new editor to edit leagues and people asked if was possible to make a cup that can pick up from teams of other nations back 2010. I agree that threads are more visible are ludicrous stuff, but I have seen threads that touched important issues, that gets closed, because the thread always descends to troll fighting, for whatever reasons. But is that hard for Miles post the stuff he published on twitter, also here? Why was Neil then posting a text from Miles, when they cancelled FM Touch last year? Why didn't Miles post that himself here? Or the guy/girl that is head the editor make comment on thread to clear any doubt that is easy fix... or make an actual guide... Oh the shock! The horror! God forbid! What happens, is simply, aside from Desmond, Neil and Glenn (from the threads I usually read, there can be others, but again handful of them), there is a disconnect with this community. When I was writing about if it wasn't for the community, I'm talking the people that help in the editor, graphics and tactics sub-forums is essential fellow users that do it for free and in their free-time to answer the doubts and questions other users have. In the editor, I have yet to see any SI personnel there. I even made a PM asking a simple question to the supposed head of Editor to ask a simple question why a certain idea I had was possible in the editor, that I was failing miserably to do it, after asking around of fellow editors and no one knew the answer. He hasn't reply me back... no I'm not talking about its been a week, its been 2 years. Sorry for wall text.
  19. I heard, few years ago they were making motion capture so player movements could be more realistic. Beyond that, is anyone guess... SI doesn't share this stuff.
  20. You all now know, what FM Touch users have endured in the last 4 to 5 years or so (with exception of last year). I also would have loved more Dev Diaries, like Paradox. More engagement with the community, but not with this management. The YouTube, is a dead channel. Any youtuber, that has proper channel, has more videos in week then SI in full year. FMFC is worthless site, aside from some sweepstakes to win a jersey, one or two blog posts... That was all they did. And the info they provided there is negligible, because it is the same info you find on headline features or any sort social media or YouTube. This is what it gets you when pre-sales hit new records, without any new announcements... they aren't even trying, because they simply don't have too. As for the Headline features video... you have new movements in your match engine show them, don't clip an existing movement that already exists in previous matches. You will look amateurish as it looks it was added last minute or some intern forgot to capture footage the days before... I'm gonna make comparison again with FIFA, but go and see their announcements trailers for FIFA23 and see how much of match engine they show? Now compared to what SI releases? We had what a full minute in the entire 45 minute Headline video of match engine and we are what about less the 2 weeks from release game... Sigh... FIFA23 showed more in game footage in 10 or so minutes of headline features, then SI in 45 minutes... Sigh... As said on other thread, SI are comfortable in their current situation. New pre-sales record without any features announcements and little to no engagement in these forums is SI formula to success...
  21. Gonna, reply to this one and another thing, as the rest either agree or not arguments from my part. Just because Ultimate Team and Career Mode is there, doesn't mean you are obligated to play them. there are other game modes. Last year, we only did have two versions and didn't care about the users that play the third version. In FIFA haven't spent any money on it, aside from buying the game. Sure it can strip you of your wallet, if you aren't carefull, if you play Ultimate Team, but there is option of not to and save some money. As for the lack of communication, sure we can blame trolls and what not, but I thought that was part of moderators jobs to cast a side those trolls... if it wasn't for the dysfunctional family, I call this community, that actually helps many users provided information and knowledge along the years. SI hasn't been helpful at all these years, not considering fixes (with the exeception of handfull of SI people). SI should be grateful for this community and the Moderators... but the sentiment is not reciprocate. At least from my point of view. Again they are fine with the decisions they made for this game, including this community.
  22. No, I don't think FM is being hold back by low specs computers. I my opinion, there is one reason: SI. They are holding back the game. This is going to divide into two reasons: One is their mantra of Evolution, rather then Revolution. They are very, very, very, very, very comfortable with the game as is. SI is at this point very, very comfortable with the position their in and FM23 proves that. I mean, pre-sales of this game set a new record or something, without any new features announced. People are giving their thumbs up to SI they are doing a wonderful job (i disagree with this). So for SI, they truly and unequivocally are doing everything right. This slow, almost snail pace of evolution if fine by them. They are serving old tech, because, the game can be run in old systems, nothing else. Also doesn't mean they aren't doing stuff, they are, but there is no rush for them to release them, why would they. They defeated two major competitors off the market (Championship Manager and FIFA Manager), there is no competitor that plays at their level, the next competitor is probably Top Eleven, which is a Mobile game. Until the majority of their fanbase, make pressure to change (much like what happen with the FIFA games, where their fanbase actually demand the game to be better, despite defeating PES), this will be their game plan, for now, and for the future, until the fanbase says, we have enough, we want better). No I'm not talking about these forums, sad to say we are just a very, very, very small group of the fanbase (just selling what mods tell here in the forums and sadly I have to agree with them). I'm sorry, but to my mind, that is poor excuse. Firstly many mods here state, endlessly and painfully reminds us that FIFA and FM are two different games... We get it. FIFA is more popular, perhaps is more fun to play, as the main focus is the match itself then to scroll 25 news scouting and other items, talking to agents, play 21 questions with the news media and Press Conferences and playing mini games with the scouting and training, while Juggling with player emotions, so they don't ruin the rest of the team. Curious isn't... why people prefer to play a computer game the let's you play an actual football match, then actually taking a second job. That is my main criticism of Football Manager, SI has forgotten that FM is computer game. They have done nothing to make a season shorter, this year, in fact they made it longer, with that agent stuff you probably have to do now. They say they will reduce the inbox messages... PEOPLE, this shouldn't be a problem in 2022. I mean we have this issues with inbox, for ten years and they did little to fix that, I don't really believe is gonna actually be fix now. Sure, you can say but EA is bigger company the SI, they have more cash to burn. But I say, SI have 10 or 14 years of 3D match engine, they made this slow progress of the 3D, because they wanted it. Even Miles stated bluntly they didn't want FIFA graphics. They are comfortable with the game is at, specially when people are coming back for newer versions, without any questions. We here, are simply peasants, talking to other peasants, where part of these forums go unnoticed by them or even worse, they simply ignore it, because we are the minority of the entire fanbase. They have no need to change stuff. They will continue to add 1000 new "features", because the majority go crazy with number 1000. They had one decade to push the envelop and they decided to not to. For me I wish they made 100 new "features" and really, really push the envelop on match and graphics engine. Now I'm to believe that women's football will be the major breakthorugh we want to match and graphics... Don't count on it. Its been years since a major update on anything on this game, again evolution instead of revolution. I'm sick of this excuse... So people, just vote with your wallets, because for me, this ain't enough to shell € 47,99 (42 pounds). We only had the Headline features, where 3/4 aren't headline features, we have got 0 other features announced, 1 feature to mobile (team talks) and 0 for Touch and Console. This just poor marketing and to be honest this ain't good enough for me to buy this game. It's the only way, for SI to actually listen to us, is actually not buying the game. They are too comfortable, their egos are too high with the recent pre-order record and what not. PS: I bet you, that the Editor is gonna have some sort of bug, that prevents us to use it properly, and it will take months to fix it. It has been like that in the past 3 to 4 years. I don't have no incentive to buy the game on release. And also this lack of communication with us in these forums, really, really get me frustrated.
  23. I choose Good Visuals and good engine, we got a good engine, already. I also think that if you commit for a 3D graphics, you commit for graphics as good as the engine.
  24. What I really, really want is a game that ain't essential to solo capture the real life of football manager. I want a mix of realism and being simply computer game. Don't need the aspects of this job, that makes it boring, frustrating or any kind negative aspects of real life football (example are agents and press conferences). But don't expect SI to go the route. Their plans of solo realism for Football Manager seemed to be very successful to the point people will buy a new version of it regardless of features announcements or not. That is why FM Classic was perfect, which was the balance between realism and being simply computer game. But SI highly disagree for those user that are like me.
