  1. 1. Managing a NT gives me reputation to get a job at a better club, but that's down the line after I leave (or am sacked by) the NT. Not sure if you can get a club job while running a NT, it never happened with me (the oppositive, though, is true: you often get NT invitations while running a club job).

    2. I don't think so.

    3. Sorry, I don't understand your sentence. Any win counts (nice results, improbable wins, etc.), even if you don't win silverplate.

    4. Each nation is different, but it's often the case that all team A slots are taken. If so, I remove one player from team A, and then select a player from U23.

  2. Adding to du Garbandier, I also consider Personality, teamwork, age and time at the club. Oftentimes a player with slightly lower leadership rating can be a much better captain.

No. As in real life, it’s best not to announce you will be resigning. If employers have no qualms about sacking employees, employees don’t owe anything either. Just plain capitalism…

Tranfer values are really confusing. My players values seem to crash before every transfer window leading to loads of pathetically small bids from big clubs that unsettle my players but I can't sell them as I'm getting offers of £5m for players that would cost me £70m+ to replace. I keep on getting it so I decided to keep track of a few of my players values over a few months. It has nothing to do with contract length or anything as all of these players have many years left on their contract and I guarantee their values will go up again after the transfer window.

It means I spend every transfer window just rejecting endless really low bids. Very frustrating.

I love these graphs. I was always intrigued why FM doesn’t include them as these would be such an obviously important datapoint.

I have actually suggested the inclusion of graphs recording financial data over time (transfer value, club value, etc.). I have suggested this two or three times over the years, but SI developers never took it on board…

  4. I've been playing FM for 20 years and it feels like a blur... I can't remember specific years like you guys do (other than some milestones, such as the first 3D version, besides one or two horrible versions of FM...)

Yet, I can say that it was easier to win leagues before, say, between FM10 and FM17, but it got gradually harder (more realistic) since then. (Note I rarely play super-clubs, preferring smaller to mid sized clubs)...

    :kriss:

  5. Not sexist at all.  I currently try to hire as many female staff as possible, and it would be a nice challenge or goal to try to have a staff that is at least 50% female.

Thus, I'd like to have a staff filter for sex or gender (they are different):

    - Sex is the biological marker at birth and has only two options (male or female)

    - Gender is the self identification by the individual and has at least three options (male, female, non-binary, etc.).

What would you guys say? What's the peak FM? I don't want to buy the new FM seeing there are some really big bugs with buying players and how physical attributes are OP etc. I had moderate fun with FM 23, but what would you say, what's the most balanced, stable and challenging version of FM?

    Thanks!

FM24. Best match engine and animations. Smooth, balanced and stable. Not perfect though: the scouting system sucks.

  7. Hi, I can't find my custom View files for Squad, Scout, etc. I had created and saved on the Cloud. My laptop was reformatted and I had to reinstall FM24 (and all fixes and packs...). I then loaded my last save and wanted to import my View files from the Cloud but it's all empty! I thought they would all be saved there (that's why we use the cloud...). Any hopes of them being somewhere in Steam?...

What needs to be realised is the star rating is based on your assistant's opinion of that player's suitability to that role.  I don't think it needs to be revamped as such, I just think it needs to be clearer that this is the case and to remember to use it as a guide first and foremost, but to trust what you're seeing with your own eyes in the match engine.

Ha! I was looking for this explanation. Yes, I'm aware that this what SI says, but the question could be: can this be improved?... Maybe, instead of just the sole opinion of the assistant manager, the average opinion of the "market" should also count.  Or, the ability of the assistant manager to judge players could be made more explicit or expanded with a more specific attribute, etc.
