  1. No by default it's not, but I know a lot of users have ways of editing files although money is the one that's escaped me. Took me ages to figure out how to sort languages properly so I am really hoping someone stumbles across money so I can actually add the various missing currencies missing
  2. So firstly I apologise if this has already been asked but I am hoping to be able to find a workaround as I have done with the languages. My original gripe was with the language families and stuff being wrong, but thankfully I managed to solve that. Now as the title says I want to move onto currency and regions. Now the database obviously has to draw on a list of currencies from somewhere. Where in the game files is that list kept? I've searched most of the obvious places and couldn't find it so figured I am probably overlooking it. Same applies with regions (not local regions) - I am assuming there's a list embedded somewhere that is used for the database to call on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Quick question, were you able to switch currency over to Yugoslav dinar, or were you forced to use Serbian?
  4. So I am working on a project that is based in Excel, however the UID numbers are quite important to this project. Is there a way I can export the default database (maybe as an .xml?) that would then include all of the UID numbers and stuff for each record in the database? I know places like Sortitoutsi and fmkitcreator have a way of referencing the UID number, so I am just wondering how it's done or whether I would have to manually create a new sheet/workbook containing all of the UIDs myself.
  5. I honestly started playing football manager properly about 6 months ago. I spent around 1000 hours in the editor for FM23. I finally solved my problems with the languages in the editor so I will go through and fix all of those as well but my main problem at the moment is currency, or specifically naming it. There's some bug that prevents you from naming new currency or renaming currency already there. It's really grinding my gears. These data updates take time so there's no real rush. I had to restart mine as I realised I'd made other changes to the database and really I only want to work with the default database so I can publish it for everyone else's use.
  6. I'm glad you like them. Here are the listings for all of them just so you can double check and cross reference with the other stuff you have. Island Games Nations: 574 - Saint Helena 577 - Landskaptet Åland 583 - Greenland 584 - Guernsey 100349 - Gozo 103277 - Gotland 145174 - Isle of Man 208996 - Western Isles 219003 - Hitra Kommune 788980 - Jersey 788987 - Menorca 788995 - Orkney 788999 - Isle of Man 5626565 - Shetland 5630219 - Saaremaa 13116454 - Falkland Islands 52024163 - Alderney 62003815 - Frøya Kommune 82082540 - Ynys Môn (They prefer the Welsh to the English but I am sure you knew this already) Other Nations: 575 - Catalunya (Catalonia) 114502 - Euskal Herria (Basque Country) 215446 - Republic of Crimea (These can't actually be used in game as Crimea is stupidly hardcoded) 8162661 - Monaco National Team (Not A.S. Monaco) 29118470 - Republic of the Marshall Islands
  7. I love seeing stuff like this. I'm autistic myself so trawling through the database trying to make it as accurate as possible is something I'm interested in. I am currently working on large scale corrections to the default database so if I can supplement what I'm doing with what you're doing that will make me happy indeed
  8. With currency it's mainly just me being pedantic. I mean I can use the British pound for a few of them as some of the currencies are actually pegged to it but if I can sort the currency I will.
  9. @themodelcitizen Right I've had a look at your Island games file and we have used different nations to represent the different competitors in the Island Games. What I will do, is upload the kits as they are in a .rar file (both 2D and 3D) then you can rename them and redistribute them as you see fit so that people can download them along with your files if they don't have kits (or you haven't produced your own). I'll also include the other graphics for people to do with what they want. Once I've finished the modifications to each nation to a standard I am happy with (i.e. with autistic precision) I will then upload my complete database file along with all additional graphics. When I am finished, each nation will include the following: Home Kit (2D & 3D) Away Kit (2D & 3D) Third Kit (2D & 3D) - Gozo & Åland only from the Island games, and Catalunya from the others Capital city assigned Home stadium assigned Language data for each region Currency assigned with exchange rate of date I upload (Waiting to hear back on something for this) Stadiums missing from the game added along with graphics Cities and other settlements added to flesh out the nation where possible Cities already in the game from these nations re-assigned to the correct nation along with clubs and people (in-game only) At least one Media source with their graphics added for each nation Backgrounds for each nation Team & Nation Logos for each nation Flags for each nation Updated histories (e.g. removing things like UEFA and Olympic medals from these nations) What it won't include is any clubs or people you've added until I've at the very least completed my other project (a spreadsheet) that will help me contextually rate things in the game. Hope you find this useful. https://www.mediafire.com/file/ac9g8cemx7cix3q/Non-Affiliated_Nations.rar/file
  10. This is the same issue as the Nation short name issue that was fixed recently so I am wondering if there is some kind of workaround, perhaps with .LNC files that can correct the issue. With any existing currency if you try to change the name it reverts back to whatever it was, I can create a new currency but I cannot name it because the name just reverts to a blank name the second I click out of the box. Unfortunate really. (No save file uploaded as this happens in all versions of the DB)
  11. To be fair I've kept both Crimea and Monaco but I am sure they could quite easily be changed. I just wipe the histories and all the other little details. The only thing annoying me at the moment is not being able to nominate a capital city for these nations albeit there is an entry for capital city in the inner workings. I notice on some of the skins I use there is information that would be useful to be able to fill out. At the moment I am in the process of compiling the necessary graphics and getting the .fmf for the nations together. Bit long winded trying to find some of the more remote stuff but being autistic (and a perfectionist) I will get it done and it will be workable. As I have a ratings spreadsheet on the backburner at the moment I will probably look into releasing other content to supplement this in additional stages, but no promises there as I will have a lot of vigorous testing to do. As for the histories, you should be able to enter them in a text only format, like you can for some of the player files when you're picking out club legends.
  12. I agree with the others. This could/should be done as a priority especially considering how importing the modding community is to this game. It's annoying not being able to do all the things necessary at the moment as easily as last year. I guess patience will have to prevail.
  13. @Wolf_pd I think it's more a case of adding new currencies than changing existing ones, although the name changes would be nitpicky. I vaguely remember adding the Saint Helenian pound and some of the Channel Island Currencies when I was exploring the PGE last year. Maybe changing the current ones could be done through an lnc file if someone knows the handle to use, which I think is what @alian62 was suggesting? The principle would essentially be the same? @cleiria your mod is pretty versatile and you seem to know a lot about the inner workings of FM so thought you'd be the best person to ask.
  14. The kits are an approximation and some are more accurate than others. Like I said to you in PM, I was hesitant about releasing them because I know there are others out there who can do a far better job. Some are more accurate than others, and some I've had to use a bit of creative license with. I am working on a pack currently. It has 2D, 3D, backgrounds and a whole bunch of other stuff in there so that the nations aren't half finished. Unfortunately with all the editor issues I lost the .fmf I was working on this morning. That way then it should pretty much be plug and play. If it can work with your files without many problems that will be added bonus. I'm working from the default FM24 DB so that it can have as much compatibility as possible. The pack has all the nations for the Island Games in there, with the exception of Bermuda and the Faroe Islands who are already in the game. As an added bonus it also has Sark and Rhodes, even though Rhodes were kicked out a while back and Sark haven't competed since 2003, but it gives you some options. There are also additional non-affiliated teams included just to balance out the rest of the file because I hate dead nations. Complete waste of data, especially when the players are already in the game. Some of the grounds are already in game (although at least one is incorrectly named), so the ones that aren't will be included (with pictures) in the .fmf file. I will do the same for cities and try and pad things out a little but that will be open to interpretation. I've got my Mum visiting later today but I should have the whole thing finished before lunchtime Monday (BST) provided I'm not too drained this weekend. Happy to contribute to the community anyway I can. For now though, to give you a rough idea of what's included I'll share these. The Channel Islands Representative Team was something I created with 10 minutes of boredom.
  15. I'm just plodding away blindly at some of the stuff and sometimes it's working. I managed to fix one error with the federation affiliation, but for every error I fix I find two more.
  16. When scrolling through the files, I've noticed there's a field for capital city but it seemingly doesn't correspond with anything in the editor. Is there something preventing this from displaying (I had to correct it originally as it was formatted incorrectly)? For those of us who revive and change the dead nations, it would be very useful to be able to nominate a capital city. The other thing I've noticed is that the currency name behaves the same way as the short nation name. In last year's version I was able to change the names and even add my own currencies which again was a very useful thing. This year though, whilst I can create new records, the names or any name changes to existing names don't exist. Is this something your mod can help with or should I post this in bugs/the general editor forum?
  17. Currency names have the same problem. When you edit them they bounce straight back to what they were. Really annoying. Exchange rate is changeable though.
  18. @kanpalta92 I did the same as you. It worked for me originally now I've done every step in here and it's no longer working for me which is pretty annoying. Hopefully they'll get a patch first as there are so many problems with the editor at the moment it's beyond a joke
  19. Hi Wolf, Actually I think the issue was down to the skin as I was using. I didn't have @2x versions of the flags installed so it was defaulting to those versions as I play on a very large tv with custom skins. When I replaced them that fixed it. Sometimes some of the other files that have been edited (the lnc ones) and the graphics of the skins themselves also need checking so I think everything is functioning more or less correctly at the moment bar the problem with the year affiliation but I am sure it will be a matter of time until thats worked out as well. Ben
  20. A lot of it depends on what you want to mod, and the quality will depend on the depth you're willing to go to with setup. If you're doing a lot of edits or working with a lot of teams it can get tedious, but in the long run it's pretty worth it
  21. Well this has my undivided attention. Definitely wanting to download this. If it makes mass editing the database easier then that can only be a good thing
  22. Another suggestion here... When I click into a city or a local region, the ability to see what clubs are in that city or region
  23. Hi all, Just some ideas from me dabbling in PGE that I think could be useful. If any of these already exist I apologise. 1) The ability to edit National Team squads in the PGE so that a team can be defined before the start of the game. On the same stroke, perhaps the ability to edit tactics and lineups in the editor could be implemented at the same time. This could also be extended to club lineups too. 2) The ability to edit EVERYTHING. I get licensing might be an issue, but every field in the editor should be editable. This will allow much greater flexibility for modding and/or updates and can diversify the data in the database a bit. I complained last year about the languages, if things like this were freely available to edit, then SI could post their standard database and then someone with an interest in that specific area could update it further. Adding countries and changing the regions (not local regions) would be a nice touch too for people who want to add different types of football such as the ConIFA Football World Cup or the NatWest Island Games. 3) A tie in to the main database used by SI so that if we want to call up players and staff who aren't in the current version of the game, we can use their UID and import them ourselves. Again I'm aware licensing probably impacts this. 4) The ability to create different types of footballing competition. For example Masters Football was quite the thing a few years back in the UK, it also means that it would give the numerous retired people in the database something to do. By proxy this could also be extended to include the ability to organise charity games similar to Soccer Aid or the game for Ukraine that was played earlier this year. Again licensing but their must be workarounds? 5) I'd like to see the opportunity to organise soccer schools or summer coaching camps for the local community that players and staff get involved with. Extending this further, events and whether or not they're allowed to participate in events (ranging from camps to commercials, autograph signings and personal appearances) could impact a player's morale/focus and so on. 6) Have graphics load in the PGE so that those who are editing can verify the correct pathways have been entered beforehand. 7) GOALKEEPER KITS! We have the ability to add really nice kits through various sources but these are then let down by uneditable goalkeeper kits 8) Better explanations of each field and what it does/how it impacts the game. I've pretty much had to learn through trial and error (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) but a simple description of what each field does so we know exactly what we're doing and what we're editing would be great. 9) Allow people to be assigned multiple roles. By this I mean if someone is involved with a club in two different places, allow us to add this into a single record instead of having multiple records for the same people or at the very least a way to identify they are duplicates. If I think of more I'll add them in a separate post but this is what I have for now.
  24. So I have been playing around with the extinct nations and I have noticed two errors although one of them may be down to me overlooking something. First - the one I know isn't me: When editing a nation's information tab, it is impossible to leave year affiliated and year affiliated to federation blank. Trying to do so reverts each one back to 1900 or 1904 respectively. This is a problem when trying to edit non-FIFA affiliated nations. Having looked at other non-affiliated nations, such as St. Barthelemy (sp?), it is possible somewhere to leave them blank as these are blank there. The issue I don't know is me is with the nationality flags (e.g. when you click a player profile and it tells you their nationality), despite changing the graphics, updating the config, deleting the old files and just about everything else I can think of, the flag for the nation I am editing is coming up with the nationality and not the updated icon. The flag has updated in all other instances of it's usage just not here. Again not sure if I've overlooked something (in which case, please point me to the appropriate section as it's driving me crazy) or whether it's a genuine bug with certain graphics or nations.
