  1. No doubt someone will make an expansion with the correct league format soon. There was a very comprehensive one for FM22
  2. Yeah just noticed this, that's me rushing to get the file out!
  3. Looks like people do want to compare to last year so it goes a bit like this Benchmark 1 = A Benchmark 2 = New this year Benchmark 3 = B (but with more (all) players loaded) Benchmark 4 = D Like i've mentioned before though the amount of fixtures is different so camparison doesn't really work unfortunately
  4. Benchmark 3 & 4 now uploaded. @jyny @JamieTC13 @emik @roykela @Scoham @pedromanuelpinto @gothenburg83 @obasa_G @Phil930 @sureup @jcp1417 @priyankitrangibt @yohanes1985 @nikiaboy @JMcK910 @SBII Massive thanks to @Daveincid once again for spending a day holidaying to the test date Opening post updated
  5. Just waiting on Daveincid who kindly offered to take on the mammoth task of holidaying the game up to the test date. I'll message yourself and anyone else who does the tests between now and then
  6. I would say the 13th gen is definitely an upgrade on the 12th based on youtube videos i've seen. The only issue really would be that the newer Intels do produce a lot of heat when compared to the Ryzens so might not be ideal for a small form factor so a decent cooling would be a major consideration. For FM there is no evidence that faster Ram makes any difference at all from what i've seen

This is my fourth year running the thread and every time it has gone from strength to strength which is a testament to you guys here at the forums. I have changed things slightly this year as I wanted to avoid comparisons of the timings from previous years. Any comparisons are pretty pointless as the amount of games on any given week can vary wildly from version to version. With that in mind i've taken the opportunity to standardise the tests. Essentially there are 2 setups being tested. Benchmark 1 is a typical setup for most users and the other Benchmark 3 has all leagues loaded. The other two tests are the same as above just with the detail level turned up to test those multi core CPUs. Benchmark 4 is once again a real test for top end PC's so thanks again to @Daveincid for setting it up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posting Results In order to get the most accurate / consistent result possible, I advise you to restart your PC / Laptop and then close everything that is unnecessary, leaving only FM open. If you run the game on a laptop, don't forget to plug it in the socket before you begin and also for laptop users make sure your system is in high power mode. After you load the save, ensure that auto save interval is disabled, and also set processing to Fast (Less Responsive), both can be found by using the search bar in Preferences. Below is the format in which I advise you to post your results, it's pretty much the same as previous years, don't worry if you aren't sure of the Base/Turbo frequencies of your processor as I can find this out for you as long as you know the CPU Model. To find out the specs of your PC open the spoiler below ------------------------------------------- Quick reminder again this year i'll again be asking for your Graphics level in 3D. What this means is what graphics level you set in the game to get a smooth experience. This should prove invaluable for the guys over at the New PC/Laptop recommendation thread so be sure to fill that in too Below are my results for you to follow as a template: Type: Laptop Model: Macbook Air CPU Model: M1 CPU Base Frequency: 3.20 GHz CPU Turbo Frequency: 3.20 GHz RAM: 8GB RAM Clockspeed: 4266Mhz GPU: M1 7 Core Apple Graphics Level in 3D: High Benchmark 1: 01 min 05 Sec Benchmark 2: 04 min 05 Sec Benchmark 3: xx min xx Sec Benchmark 4: xx min xx Sec -------------------------------------------------------------------- We've come really close to getting over 100 benchmarks in each of the last couple of editions so if we can break that barrier that would be awesome! Any queries about the benchmarks feel free to let me know Happy testing folks and massive thanks in advance!
  9. These benchmarks aren’t really for that, it’s impossible to get matching files from one version to another
  10. Quick little preview of the FM23 benchmarks They will differ slightly from last year. 1 & 2 are the same test but with more detail added to the latter. The same goes for 3 & 4 A lot more straight forward hopefully
  11. Spreadsheet and 2nd post updated for the final time. 87 systems tested this year which is 9 shy of FM21 but a really great effort by everyone. The clear winner is the R9 7950X from @hancin, however we have yet to see a high end 13th Gen Intel during the tests. Special mention to @mstrmind5 who gave up over 1 hour and 15 mins of his life to do the test, as did a few others. Big thanks to everyone who took part, without you guys the thread would be pointless. Its also become far more than just a speedtest it has become a good way to diagnose issues against similar computers which is a great bi-product of the tests. So now on to the FM23 thread which will be with you in the coming days Thanks all !
  12. You can only manage there if you are relegated into that league and manage to keep your job
  13. It'll be down to the amount of matches being played. There's not really any value comparing year on year. You can only really compare to other processors. I'm even contemplating changing the tests for FM23 to avoid such comparisons
  14. It's worth noting that these results are a season in so we are talking 12th - 19th Sep 2023 for FM23 and of course the number of games simulated will be entirely different Mind you I guess we will find out next week!
  15. Yeah above 8 gig I would wager it makes no difference at all Actually it would be great if someone could take out a line of RAM to test this. My guess is the benefits of dual channel are also negligible
  16. Yes about the same edit - mine is the base model
  17. High I can get away with very High if I put crowd and shadows on low but only for key highlights. it gets hot and throttles real quick in longer highlights
  18. Yeah I mean in fairness it is hard to do it perfectly just because of the computing overhead and time constraints but it would be good if they did a typical setup maybe or at the very least 2 tiers of 10 countries on full detail. Plus of course these videos are entertainment really. One thing I did find compelling though was TomFM's video where some really lowly teams had done well which is strange with a league system not done in full detail. From what I've heard the quick match engine uses reputation quite heavily so this seems different this year
  19. The likelihood is that any youtubers running this have likely put the smallest league as playable e.g Wales and thave made a load of others view-only so its basically the simple match engine being used so the results aren't that credible really imo. In order to accurately simulate the entire football world in FM the benchmarking thread shows us that a week on holiday takes 15 mins with all leagues loaded in full on a high spec R9 5950X or i9-12900k. So rough fag paper maths gives us 54 days to simulate 100 seasons. Although to be honest the simulation only gets slower the further along you go. So to simulate 1000 seasons its 540 days. Nearly time for FM 25. And i'm guessing the save file or your computer or both would implode by then Edit - Dave (above) beat me to it His figures are probably closer to the truth though. It would just get slower and slower.
  20. Sorry if that came across a bit funny. Realism is pretty subjective. Hopefully Dan & Messi will be on the case again for those lower league files!
  21. just from a realism standpoint I suppose, never signing anyone would be hugely unrealistic
