  1. This is actually the style I use, based on his Leeds side, but it works in FM. Try this. 4231 DM Wide.   2. I'm not exaggerating though. I've literally never had a red card in FM Console that was apparently a bad decision. It appears hard coded.
  3. You're not using the 'stop crosses' instruction. Maybe start with this and see if there's any difference.

    Work Permits

    Whenever I try to sign a player and I get information that I need to offer them 'X' amount to qualify for a work permit, even when I meet the wage demands I'm never successful in obtaining a work permit.
  5. I've never, ever on any version of FM Console had a red card that my assistant felt wasn't the correct decision. Surely in hundreds of hours there should have been at least one worth appealing. It's like the referees are perfect, which is hyper unrealistic.

  8. Players I have signed do not show in my Transfer History, the value shows I have spent money, but no players are listed.
  9. If I try to create a new game in a different nation, it defaults back to the previous game set up unless I go into advanced set up and manually delete and select the nations I want.
  10. When trying to change a player role in my tactics screen, it occasionally won't let me select any of the player roles as they are all 'greyed out'. If I go into the player profile and then back to the tactics screen, they usually become selectable again.
  11. The reason will be money. It's a disgrace, and during a cost of living crisis where people may not be able to afford the full game and will be cutting back on subscriptions.
  12. I'd probably give it more than 2 games to fully bed in. You could try lowering the tempo back to standard as playing on Positive automatically increases the tempo slightly, this should give you a little bit more control. Maddison is a great attacking player, so maybe change his role to Attack and possibly Daka to an AF so he's making more runs in behind for Maddison to feed.
  13. I agree with the long balls. I have my instructions set to short passing and work ball into box at a standard tempo, what I tend to see is my midfield will pass the ball between them and eventually the ST makes a run in behind and one of my midfielders plays a ball over the top for him to run on to. I've chosen to embrace it with an AF so the runs are made more frequently as it's very effective.
  14. I'd use his as an Advanced Forward, as much as his attributes as a Poacher are fantastic, he's also a good enough footballer to play a more expansive role.
  15. I'm just speaking to my own experience. And I don't see how 'you haven't played FM 23 or don't know how to do it properly' is any less general and any more helpful that what I wrote. 👍🏻
  16. I wouldn't personally waste my time with anything other than a high block. FM punishes you for using anything other. You'll invite pressure and concede more goals trying to be more defensive than if you use a high block with much more closing down.
  17. It's more so the exact same players I've tried to sign in my saves who hasn't qualified for me but on other saves the same player gets a work permit no problem.
  18. Is it just me or do AI Signings seem to be unaffected by work permit regulations. I've seen the AI sign young, uncapped players but in alternative saves where I've attempted to sign the same player at the same time I can never get a work permit for them. It feels like the AI can sign any player they choose, but I'm stuck to only signing British players for lack of Work Permits.
  19. I've unfortunately never managed to get one working. It's seems attack is the best form of defence in many cases when it comes to FM. Every time I set up to soak pressure and counter I get pinned back and concede tons of goals. Press High and Press Often!
  20. Maybe reduce the tempo or remove run at defence. This increases the likelihood you lose the ball which might cause problems if you're now weaker than the opponents.
  21. What I've found is using the Gegenpressing out of possession instructions works pretty well with some more possession based in possession ones. So I use the Gegenpress but clear the in possession instructions and instead go with: Fairly Narrow, Play out of Defence, Slightly Lower Tempo and Work Into Box. So I press like a maniac to win the ball back, but instead of hammering it forward at pace, we focus more on keeping the ball, but I still have counter selected in transition to allow us to take advantage of counter attacking opportunities.

  23. I didn't change too much. The Regista into a DLP-De because I feel the Regista requires an elite level footballer. The PF-At to a DLF-At as the team are already instructed to press high so I didn't feel a PF chasing everything down was necessary. The WB on the right to a FB-Su, just to offer a little bit more defensive stability.
