  1. It has nothing to do with who is controlled by the player or the AI. If you think so, post about it in the bugtracker, dont just spew bad info about the game differentiating the AI and us, you've been told that's wrong multiple times.
  2. Utter bull, please stop spreading this misinformation about the game treating the player different than the AI in multiple threads.
  3. I think you set your bar too high, promotion every other year is way overachieving IMO. Especially when it happens in every save on every edition of FM. Game management is a big factor IMO, spotting how the AI tries to score and stop them, notice when they change things up, and of course figure out what is and isn't working with your own setup in each particular game. If you play FM for yrs and every single year you keep getting promoted after 2 seasons tops, it starts to feel hollow when the story of your career is the same every time, you just win win win and then you're no 1, no dramaturgy, no story line, just a constant success-story.
  4. I'm not sure my points are getting through here, all of these things you mention are valid points, but none of them can be given an answer to as to when will "be fixed", which is what I was reacting to. "Why wont SI say when press conferences will stop being tedious" is another case of feelings, there's nothing specific in there to change. It seems very weird to me that the same people have the same complaints in the same thread even after being told what they can do about it and having refused to do so. I've seen the same people been given the same response to the same question 5 times, and yet keep saying their questions dont get answered, it's like a running joke here. Yes! Absolutely! And in order to get the best we can of this people need to use the bugtracker or at least post some examples so others can raise a ticket for them. Maybe its just too confusing for people to have both the bugtracker and the feedback thread, it sure seems to be a lot of confusion here, we dont disagree on the points, we disagree that they havent been responded to and how to give constructive criticism and dont just say things like "fix the set piece creator being crap" or "the red card after 1 minute bug", there's simply no content there to work with.
  5. Most of these points are just personal opinions on the aestethics in the game. As I tried to explain earlier, its hard to do something with your feeling of the game. I dont know how to explain this any clearer than I've already done, it doesnt seem to me you take in what I say, may be a language barrier, IDK. You cant seriously expect game devs to call a meeting and say "Okay team, today we're gonna make the set piece creator less crap, as per instructed by the noisy gang on our forums" There's just nothing to work with here, just peoples feelings. I hope they put more effort into the game itself than the colors and palettes surrounding it. Stop making strikers run from the penalty box, out to the corner of the 18yrd box and try a header at goal, that would make me enjoy the game much more than an updated color palette on the tactics screen.
  6. ugh, that one's a drag, its in the in-game tips if you can find them, I dont remember the correct order but hold Shift while pressing P/R/D, Position and then one last row, try playing around with the order you click while holding shift. That, and how to make your reserves/u19 teams use the same tactic as your senior team AFTER you've manually changed their tactics once... gah I hate when it happens in a save!
  7. Could be that they complain because of high ambition. If a player agrees a really low status, he may complain later that its too low, but very easy to re-adjust. If they dont complain right away, they usually wont complain later. 8 star players is a LOT.
  8. It just goes up so much faster with match practice training schedules in addition to the friendlies. I dont do them during the season because they increase fatigue, I usually play 2 games a week so there's no time for match practice when I do the other match preps as well for bonuses in the next match. If you play 0 or 1 game pr week I'm sure it could be a good idea as cadoni says.
  9. I can't speak for those who you say are determined to defend every aspect of the game, but for me it seems a bit whiney to make 6 posts on the previous page alone about how its all about the game being broken and nothing to do with what you do, demand and expect fixes yet still not a single post in the bugtracker as you were told to do if you wanted to see any changes being made. I'm just really glad that SI decide to make changes based on what people report in the bug tracker with examples, and not what people just complain about here, no matter how many upvotes they get. We dont have to agree, its just my 2 cents.
  10. If people can queue up to complain in this thread, is it really too much to ask that they copy their post and raise it in the bugtracker as well. Your last link there says "need more info". So please, if you have examples of too many red cards, post it there. The rest of us dont see too many red cards so we cant do anything about it. Who knows, you might be right, there may well be too many red cards with the way you play FM, but the only way to truly find out is by you, the one who experiences this, uploading examples in the bugtracker. Just saying it is so or agreeing with others who says so wont change a thing, you'll just end up looking like a whiner who's not really willing to do anything about it. (no offence meant)
  11. My best tips for this is to create space for the IFs, like Johnny says, but also set the IF on attack if you want him to run with the ball. And dont use an AF striker, he will run into the space your IF wants, drag a defender with him and just crowd the area with opposition players. DLF(s) or TF(s) as the lone striker, IF/IW on attack and a playmaker type midfielder who holds the ball, invites pressure and then finds an available wide man (who then should have plenty of space to dribble into when no AF is running forward)
  12. If you've been paying attention to this thread I'm sure you've seen SI answer over and over again that this thread is for feedback, and that the bugtracker is for bug tracking. I too have been paying attention to this thread, and it seems to me most people arent taking in the answers they are given. If I had a dollar for every time someone here asks "why wont SI say anything about when the new patch will be out".... And lastly, the loudest noise here is rarely the most agreed with opinions, I think a lot of users here have given up on the noisy gang, its all ruckus and no content. Like it's been said here previously, its hard for SI to fix your feelings of the game, if you want something fixed you need to bring examples and post in the bugtracker. But no one seems interested in doing that, so its hard to take them seriously, or as doing anything other than venting/whining. When everything is a bug, nothing is a bug. "the well known 2 red cards within 1 minute of every game bug" as it was recently said, most people see that as just venting/whining, while a small group of people agree because its criticism of the game, no matter how valid it may be or not. I for one am glad SI stated here that they dont necessarily listen to the most noisy crowd but rather the one who brings legitimate claims and back them up with examples. I win too much/ I lose too much/ I dont have enough injuries/ all my players get injured/ my players only get injured when I have important games/ my strikers dont score/ my strikers are the only ones who score. Just imagine SI adjusting the game for every outburst you see here, or with every outburst that get some upvotes, it'd be a true mess.
  13. volunteer staff then I dont think people find their way to the bugtracker now, or they are often too mad at the game to go search it up, could be a lot of people are just trolling too and dont wanna raise tickets in the BT but dont underestimate the power of lazyness
  14. match practice is best used in pre-season to get tactical familiarity and team cohesion up fast. During the season I use the other match preps, def, teamwork, attack to get advantages for the matches.
  15. Sounds weird indeed, players do like playing in CL! https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/football-manager-2023-bugs-tracker/transfers-and-contracts/ @FrazT I think you'd get way more people to copy their post and make a thread in the BugTracker if you just threw in a link. I see very few people actually raise a bug ticket when asked to. Preferably all you staffers could have a link in one of those automatic endings to all posts, the name eludes me, like those automatic "sent from my iphone" messages you get on e-mail.
  16. Everything except database updates have always been save game compatible, would expect this again, yes.
  17. No matter his intentions the outcome is still the same. Misinformation and confusion is being spread, not just on youtube but now it also leaks over here. Its only a matter of time before the reddit-links start flying in too, if you wanna talk about a real garbage heap of misinformation central. People like him is what makes people not understand FM, if he just stopped making videos more people would know more about FM because their heads is not already filled with his misinfo. I cannot believe you dont see how this is a problem, or how you dont understand why that would **** people off. Btw it's not possible to think Step up more and Drop off more means Higher or lower defensive lines, those are already in the game and are called Higher/lower defensive lines.
  18. I dont know squat about cars or repairing cars, should I be making videos on how to fix your car at home based on what I think the instruction book I read said? I dont think I should do that, I should leave that to those who know this stuff in and out. I'd be massively pissed I if wanted to learn how to fix my car at home and the fix your car-forums were full of stupid youtube videos made by people who know even less about cars than I do. Its a real problem over most forums I read, if you can see my point here and understand where I'm coming from, I'm sure you would agree.
  19. People who spread misinformation are the issue here, if he doesn't know how FM works maybe not make videos trying to tell people how FM works? Leave it to those who know what they're talking about. Its not just on these forums, it's a real problem on any niche-type forum where you go to learn something specific, misinformation galore.
  20. No, they really shouldn't. That guy is the worst, what he does can be compared to having 10 rocks in different colors, throwing them into the river and see if you hit any fish to find out what color is best for fish-catching with rocks. What he does have nothing to do with "experiments", you need control groups and a really high n-value/attempts before you can even start saying half the stupid stuff he does, that guy is just looking for clicks, he has no idea what he's doing.
  21. No offence, but what did you expect to happen when you set your defense on the half way line before a goal kick without man marking a guy like willock? Seems like they all are running free, your RB has been drawn way out of position too, think you got played by the AI here.. And then you let it happen again the exact same way in the same game, same half?
  22. Consistency, temperament and injury proneness takes time to scout, if you only scout a player once you probably wont know anything about those hidden attributes. So dont scout once, get nothing about consistency and expect him to be "normally consistent".
  23. It's a pretty far stretch from being dissatisfied and to claim that they shouldn't have released fm23 though. If you bought and played FM22, you'll know when to expect the patches.
  24. The game is giving directions to anyone who's watching the match, I'm not sure I understand what kind of directions you want? If attackers are running through you, mark them. If playmakers are carving you open, close them down, just basic football. This year we're told the oppositon will really have a go at you at their home ground, so you need a more cautious approach/roles/setup away from home to deal with them. But who, what and where is up to you to decide from match to match depending on how the opposition is trying to take you on. Watch games on comprehensive at least, if you're heavy underdog start the match on full, make adjustments and then go on comprehensive highlights.
