Hi,
I will do updates for FM18, but these will release less quicklyIn order of release: South America, Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, Oceania.
Any possibility of creating 3 leagues from continents that dont have 3 leagues from the beginning rather quickly? (N.America, Africa and Oceania)

Amazing career @pug 407 great to see you accomplish this
Hope to see you in "new hunting grounds" soon

Reporting a possible minor bug from the MLS for those interested:
MLS registration:
A bit of a potential bug though:
I had a player on loan from Man.City our affiliate, after the season I got the chance to resign him. I really wanted it as he is by far the best right back in my squad. The deal was approved but then I was prompted to do squad registration. The registration is not open yet, so it seemed impossible to advance the game. I couldn't stop the transfer after I confirmed it either.
The solution: Go on holiday for 1 day, even got to keep the player.

Don't think so. Still playing the same save and seeing how far up the hall of fame i can get. Only 5 weeks ish until beta release so not much time left now. Unless u have any suggestions?
Nah 5 weeks is not so long time, but would be maybe dafuge challenge, or if you wanted to have a go at my Giant 70-challenge (requires extra leagues from classens)
But jumping up the HoF sounds like a nice idea as well

Thanks for the kind words @TheEarl and @vikeologist it was a slog at times but so worth the hard work and dedication. Can't wait to start again on FM18!
Will you try other challenges at FM17 before the new game comes out?

Congrats @Cheekybananafm welcome to the club

Thanks mate. unfortunately the Copa America is starting this summer so best hope is I get a top job for the next one in 4 years time so will be a lot of holidaying done!!
Understand. And probably I would holiday a lot in that situation as well, but try to make the most of it, maybe scouting a h**l of a lot of players from South America to see which players you would hire. Maybe take over one of the best teams in the world and buy lots of youngsters from the nation you manage, and in that way make sure you have the best squad possible.
Anyway, good luck as I said.

Great work @Cheekybananafm just 2 more to go, and the league part you will probably wrap up this season, so in reality just need to find that final International job to conquer Copa America. Good luck!

Great achievements and well done again @Fadedaf
You would be a high contender for my Giant 70 Challenge, but youth challenge sounds very nice indeed also.
So far we have 3 finishers on FM17 full, the same as FM15 full and FM16 full, but FM15 had 2 finishers on Classic as well. Will FM17 be the one with the most finishers??

Congrats @Fadedaf, welcome to the club of Ultimate Managers. (Although my wife will probably hate you for smashing Philippines 11-0 a long the way lol)

Think you might have to edit the Challenge progress there @Vatan

Great @Fadedaf finally you got hat ACON done, now only 1 to go....

Pug's Update Season 2031-32
So A Bit Of A Surprise My First Team On This Challenge Came Up, So I Applied And Got The Job. Contract .The Best Thing About It I Must
Have Left A Very Good Team. Background . As You Can See They've Done Great In The Last 15 Years. So With That In Mind It Was On To The
Season, To Hopefully Get The 1 Trophy I Needed. Up 1st Was The Super Cup And A Hard 3-2 Win. Result . In The League The 1st 21 Games
Were All Won. The Champions League Was Also All Wins For Us. 1st 21 Games . Champions League Results . But The Only Trophy I Wanted
Or Needed Was The Cup, But A Disasters And A Good Trouncing Put Us Out. Cup Result . So In A Fit Of Embarrassment I Resigned.
Next Up For My England Team Was The European Championships. A Group Of Sweden, Belgium And Turkey And 3 Wins Out Of 3. In The
2nd Round Was Russia And A 6-0 Win. Next Up Was A Q-Final With Romania And A 4-0 Win. In The Semis We Were Drawn Against The Ukraine
And Another 4-0 Win. The Final Was A Match Against Portugal And A Easy 5-1Win, Despite Going A Goal Down After 11mins. Results . Job History .
Time To Resign And Try For My Last International Trophy.

Usually I just use it for friendlies, including international ones. However, you can get to the point where you're dominant domestically, and are staying at a club just to get the champions League, and it's definitely worth using then. I do think my results are better if I manage the team myself, but it's worth using where your team is so good, your assman's not going to muck it up, or where you don't care.
Some people pretty much holiday their way through seasons, while others micro-manage.
Another thing I use is an automatic continue game which means that you can usually get a coffee while your computer is processing the week's events.
@Fadedaf Frankly I'm running out of ways to commiserate, and think you should change your name to @Cursedaf. I was in your situation where I had to win 2 international trophies at the end of the challenge, and it took me 16 years to get the last one. I took me the first 4 of those years to get a Asian national job.
I think when the original author of the challenge created this, he had something like this in mind. It was seen as almost impossible to complete this challenge. Then people have proven it to be fully possible, and some can even finish this very fast. But if you fall out of luck with the international titles, it takes you so much more time to complete this. It can really take a lot of your motivation to finish the challenge.
Best of luck @Fadedaf you can do this for sure

Amazing work @claassen , you might have realized I have a challenge based on your great updates. Do you plan to return for FM18 as well?
0 -
@claassen thanks for answer, and I fully understand.
0 -
Any chance to include the future World Cup format as a optional download in these files?
0 -
Thanks for the comment @claassen , I removed a few files that I dont use, pluss my own (that I didn't edit for several weeks) and at least now the game works again.
And I love the work, currently in Ivory Coast and planning to do most of the world.

Lately after downloading the files, I am not able to open FM17 on my Mac.
When I deleted all files downloaded, the game works again, so seem to be a problem with one of the files.
Anyone experienced this, or know which file is not working properly?

Hi, I find these long term challenges really interesting, but just wonder how much time you spend playing the game? do you select the team for each match and watch the match in match engine? or do you generally go on holiday for periods of time??
whenever I play FM, I slowly plod through the game and maximum get through 5/6 seasons per version of fm
Of course each players has his own style of playing, some use skins that gives instant results, but I guess the "normal" way is to play every match that counts by yourself. Holidaying is perhaps used in times you are without a club/nation and especially tend to happen at the beginning and a late stage of the challenge. For my self I generally consider 1 season to take about 10 hours of gameplay. So considering this challenge will take 20+ seasons yow are looking at a good bit above 200 hours of actual gameplay.

The latest update has supposedly adjusted the likelihood of getting a club job when you have an international job, so I did a little experiment.
On the previous build I quit my international job in order to get the club job I wanted, (Orlando Pirates 2.5 stars). I ran the interview 3 times (as manager of Chile) and didn't get the job no matter what I said. But a few months later I did get a decent club job, (Aberdeen 3 stars), so my limited experiment suggests that having an international job still makes club jobs harder, but far from impossible.
This will be a big help in the challenge.
This was just an experiment though. I'm the manager of Orlando Pirates.
Nice to know about @vikeologist, I read also that this issue was "fixed" in the new update, but its still harder then in previous FM-versions. And I think hat is kind of good also, as not all clubs around would hire a manager who has a "double task".
I have left Mexico and is currently with Sao Paulo. Coming up is World Cup and probably some International managers getting sacked or quitting. So I guess I will take an International job, but that will be mid-season. Interesting to see what kind of club job I can get afterwards.

The Earls Ultimate Football Manager Challenge
Mexico in Gold Cup 2029
After winning the Double with PAOK twice in a row, I left the club knowing the as a manager of Mexico I could not get a new club until I resigned. Anyway it was time to get an international achievement. And for sure Mexico in Gold Cup was a given way to do this right? To top the things Gold Cup 2029 was played partially at the same time as Confederations Cup. With Mexico not winning Gold Cup for 14 years, we where not part of that competition. USA represented CONCACAF and such their B-team participated in Gold Cup. Now this must be easy right?
Group Stage
SpoilerMexico - USA B 3-1 - S.Rodriguez, J.Mendoza, C.Gaxiola
Mexico - Guadeloupe 4-3 - D.Valadez 2, M.de la Rosa, M.del Palacio Langer
Mexico - Trinidad & Tobago 5-1 - F.Estrada 3, G.Olguin, D.Valadez
Fairly straight forward group stage. USA B didn't provide any challenge, and we only got challenged a bit by the weakest team Gouadelopue as we put on 10 subs for that game, rotating the squad. My only concern was an injury to my sub left-back, which meant A.Diaz had to play every game, but I would put a centre back out there as soon as the game was decided.
Quarter Final (if applicable)
SpoilerMexico - Honduras 3-0 - C.Gaxiola, F.Estrada, O.Romo
Still in the quarter final I could rotate the squad a bit without any worries. A comfortable 3-0 win, set up a semi final clash with the toughest opponent Costa Rica.
Semi Final (if applicable)
SpoilerMexico - Costa Rica 3-2 - S.Rodriguez, F.Estrada, J.Mendoza
By far the toughest game, and after going 1-0 up, we crashed to 1-2 before half time. Gaxiola and Olguin where not hitting the target and I feared an upset. But Estrada turned out to be my key player for the tournament and he made it 2-2 early in the second half. I was preparing for extra time, and thinking heavily how to balance my team as the Costa Ricans seemed fitter and more up for the challenge. Thats when midfielder Jonathan Mendoza scored a long range shote 1 minute into stoppage time to take us to the Final
Final (if applicable)
SpoilerMexico - Canada 4-1 - A.Diaz, F.Estrada 2, G.Olguin
Canada have 1 really good striker playing for Juventus, but it was not hime but the other striker who put them ahead after 40 minutes. Still we managed to score 2 goals before half time, and in the second half there was never any doubt. Winning a sound 4-1 we brought the Gold Cup home where it belongs for my 14th landmark in this challenge.
Aftermath
SpoilerI immediately resigned and hoped to get both a club job and an international job (club job first obviously.) Clubs available included Sao Paulo and AC Milan, International job was Colombia with a really nice team that could challenge for both World Cup and Copa America. I got the Sao Paulo offer first and jumped on it, as I need Copa Libertadores and a cup win in Brazil would be nice also, the league is not needed as I only need the big 5 for the remainder of my career. Unfortunately the process took too long time to get Colombia as they appointed someone else not waiting for me. Sao Paulo are 8th with half the season remaining, and thats the position I need to qualify for Copa Libertadores. They are still running in the Copa Perdigao do Brasil also.

@vikeologist I have not given up here, but will try Dafuge Challenge at the same time. My frustration here is not getting the "correct" clubs/nations I want to manage. But there will be another update hopefully within this week.

The Earls Ultimate Quest (FM17)
PAOK 2026/27 and 2027/28 Greek Super League and Mexico (from mid 2027)
After Spartak I really though I could get a good job, but it turned out all I could get was PAOK. Well fair enough the club is one of 4 favorites for the Greek title. My reputation was 55% but even after 2 seasons at PAOK it was still the same.
Its not really a lot to tell from these two seasons other than we won the domestic double both seasons. But also knocked out of Europe at early stages.

Quite off topic here, but anyone knows if playable leagues will be the same for FM18 as previous versions? If not what will be included or excluded?
Would have been nice with more leagues, although I doubt it, but could be very vital to more diversity in this great challenge...
