  1. An Update! Well that didn't take long, just when I say I don't expect a job that takes my fancy to come up due to my low-ish rep something DOES come up! The Hibbies board were never going to give me a new contract after my demands so it's time to cut my losses. I'm off to Argentina!! If you don't know already this is the badge of San Lorenzo. They have just finished a pretty rubbish season ending 12th in the Premier Division. They are predicted to end 3rd So in that sense I have a good chance of winning the league and hopefully I can tick off Champions League No. 4 which leave me solely concentrating on winning all the league and cup in Europe alongside the European Champions League. They have given me a whopping £18m transfer kitty!!
  2. Thanks mate, hopefully the league title next season. Unfortunately my rep is just too low to be getting a MASSIVE job in the big 5 leagues. Only 65% and when I apply they just laugh me off. I may be here a while unless something amazing comes up!
  3. 2029/30 Season - Hibernian Scottish Premier League - After a really poor start to the campaign we found ourselves down in 6th after 14 games, we then went on a run of epic proportions, winning 16 of our next 19 games to go into the Championship Group 1 point behind Celtic, Celtic then beat us and after a defeat to Hearts we had to settle for 2nd place. A good improvement even after a bad start League Cup - A really good run in the cup but we lost 2-1 to Hearts in the final. Scottish Cup - Another really good cup run, we even beat Celtic in the semi finals 4-2. Again we played Hearts in the final but this time it was a win for us as we beat them 2-0. My first trophy with Hibs in my 2nd season. Europa League - We managed to navigate 4 qualifying rounds beating the likes of Videoton and Ludogorets to reach the group stage. We had a pretty tough group which included Spurs and Ajax, we ended in 3rd place and were knocked out. What next? - Currently I'm not sure, I would like to stay another season and I do feel we can win the league if we start well. However my contract is up in a few months and I'm currently refusing to sign a new deal as the board have offered me no extra wage budget and a transfer budget of £150k even though I've increased our bank balance from £3m to £7m over this season. So at the moment it's up in the air but unless another better job comes up I'll give in and stay. 4. Hi guys. I know this thread is supposed to be just for career updates but I really need your help. All of a sudden my save is using huge amount of CPU, its up at like 40% even when I'm not doing anything, just sitting on the home screen. When I process through a day its up at 70%+. Is this just because my save game file has got too big? Is there a way of rectifying it? Update: It seems something has gone haywire in the background of my save. I went back to my previous saved date which is Feb 2029 (Its now July 2029) and there is hardly any CPU usage, I have looked at my estimate game speed, in the Feb save its 5 stars, the July one is 1.5 stars. Same leagues/same nations/same number of players. So something has clearly gone pete tong. What do I do?!?!? Update 2: So I decided to go back to February and sim through the rest of the season and see if the high CPU and slow down happened again. I'm sure previously the game slowed down before the season was over. Well I'm now at the end of the season and all seems OK. The only difference to what I posted in my season review was we ended 3rd not 4th. So I'm going to carry on and hope to hell it doesn't slow down at another point. I've set my auto save to every fortnight instead of 6 months just in case something goes wrong
  5. 2028/29 Season review - Hibernian I'm not going to write some long winded post, to be honest the season overall has been pretty rubbish so I'll keep it short! Scottish Premier League - We were predicted to end 3rd and for most of the season it looked like we would end there or thereabouts but a really poor end to the season, mainly after the split put pay to any chances of a top 3 finish and we ended the season in 4th place, some way off the teams above us. Another thing to note is it's the first time since I started the save that Celtic didn't win the SPL. At the mid way point they were 8th, they sacked their manager, I applied for it but was turned down. They ended up finishing 3rd, Hearts winning the league with Rangers 2nd. Cups - We had already been knocked out of the League Cup before I took the job. We were knocked out in the 4th Round of the Scottish Cup against Queen of the South, who are in League One. What now? - I'm going to stick around, I can't leave and spend another year or more waiting for a new job but I need a bigger and better job to start winning more trophies. Unfortunately my rep has dropped to 60% so finding and getting a proper top job may be hard but I have to find a better job than Hibs, no offence to them but I need to win something and something now! 6. Thanks mate. First attempt with ivory coast. Had 1 attempt with Egypt earlier on the save but went out in group stage.
  7. Thanks very much mate. Feels good to be on the leaderboard!
  8. 2029 African Cup of Nations - Ivory Coast Group Stage We were given a pretty tough group, Nigeria, Senegal and Ghana stood in our way. First up was Senegal, it was a crazy game which ended with us winning 5-3, Against Ghana we came crashing back down to earth losing 3-0 which meant we had to beat Nigeria and because of our poorer goal difference we had to win well. We did exactly that, I went all out attack on them and at half time we were 6-0 up! The game ended 7-0 and we had qualified for the Quarters Quarter Final We had a tricky tie against Algeria but in the end it wasn't tricky at all. Another dominant first half performance but us 2-0 up at the break, we scored 2 more, they scored 1 right at the end and we were through 4-1 Semi Final Tunisia were our semi final opponents, 57th in the world ranking so I was confident we would win the game. We did what we always do and started like a train, 2-0 up in 23 mins. Tunisia pulled 1 back just before half time. We sat back in the second half to protect the lead and it worked. The final score was 2-1 and we were into the final Final We were saved from a possible rematch against Ghana by the fact Morocco decided to dump them out in the semi final so we all we had in front of us and my first International trophy win was Morocco, 43rd in the world and certainly not the hardest game we could've had! For once we didn't start fast, at half time the game was 0-0, I made a few changes at half time and it worked. 48 mins and we were 1-0, 53 mins 2-0, and then it was 3-0 after 68 mins. The whistle blew for full time and we had done it AFRICAN NATIONS WINNERS! A brilliant way to win it and really pleased to get my first International trophy ticked off. I'm going to stick with the Ivory Coast possibly until the next World Cup in 2030 and I;m also presuming we enter the 2029 Confederations Cup as well. 9. My team is Northampton town mate always supported them
  10. A new job!!! Eventually! It's taken 18 months but I've finally been offered a domestic job! I'm not going to lie it's been really really frustrating, so much so I was close to giving up as I just couldn't get a job. I was interviewed for 4 jobs in Argentina, all 4 I was unsuccessful. So I had to lower my expectations. I have REALLY lowered my expectations!!!!! We are off to Scotland!!! Obviously not the biggest team but they are predicted to end 3rd, are in the Europa League and I have a £2m transfer kitty. To me it's better to have a job than no job so let's just see how it goes, I'll keep an eye on the available jobs as I go, if something bigger turns up then I'll apply.
  11. I have Argentina and the big 5 euro leagues and Scotland loaded. There jist any viable jobs going. Chelsea and man city came up but they laughed me off. Other than that it's low down top division teams
  12. Yep cops libertadores still working. 12 months after I quit Monterray and I'm still waiting for a new domestic job. Think I may have to lower my expectations as my rep is dropping rapidly!
  13. I feel like I'm hogging this thread at the moment, sorry for all the updates but I'm gripped to this save at the moment and can't put it down! Anyway this is a double update, firstly the 2027 Copa America and secondly the new job I have Copa America 2027 - Chile We were handed a pretty decent group, Bolivia, Venezuela and Brazil stood in our way so I was hopeful of qualifying through to the Quarters. It started really well, we beat Venezuela 3-2 and then smashed Bolivia 3-0. Lastly was Brazil, we only had to draw to top the group as they had previously drawn Venezuela 0-0. A draw was the result, we scored early but Brazil equalised and the game ended 1-1 which meant we went through in 1st place. Because of this I was hopeful of a slightly easier draw in the Quarters but it wasn't meant to be, we had drawn Argentina! An early red card screwed us and we ended up losing the game 3-1. A poor way to end what started off as a bright tournament. So I'm quitting as Chile manager after just over 3 years in charge. Another international where I've won nothing so next time I'm going to be very careful on the job I take, I need a really good chance of winning silverware or I'll be stuck at the end of the save trying to tick off international trophies. So after the Copa America I was jobless but hopeful of getting a new job pretty quickly. I have Argentina, England, Germany and Spain loaded currently and with my rep at 75% I felt In could get a decent job. I also wanted to make sure as mentioned earlier that I got an international job which gave me a proper decent shot at a trophy. Very soon after I quit Chile, an international role became available that took my fancy and it's back to Africa with the Ivory Coast. Currently ranked 26th in the world they are ranked as the 2nd best African team. We are just about to start African Nations Cup 2029 Qualifying and the squad looks pretty decent. I am still waiting for any job to come up domestically but I want to make sure it's the right job which gives me the best chance of quick success, hopefully there will be another update very soon!
  14. 2026/27 Review - Monterray Yep that's right another update already! I have to say I've suddenly got a second wind on this save and I'm loving it. As I said in my previous update I had fell on my feet with the Monterray job and wanted to make this a one season stop to win the NACL. So I won't mess about, we did amazing in the Opening and Closing Mexican league stages winning both only losing 2 games over the whole season but I knew that would be easy! It's all about the NACL so let's not hang about. North American Champions League Group Stage - We were drawn in a very easy group. A team from Guatemala and a team from Belize, we won all 4 games, scoring 21 and conceding 0! Quarter Finals - A tricky tie against New York City, hell no we absolutely smashed them, The away leg 8-1 to us and the home leg 5-0 so 13-1 on aggregate. Absolutely crazy, I thought we would win but that away leg exceeded anything I ever expected. Semi Finals - Onto the semis and once again it was an all Mexican line-up, we were drawn again Pachuca, away leg first and once again we dominated, the scoreline was 4-1 but it should've been a lot more. The home leg was rubbish but it didn't matter, we just needed to see the game out and that's what we did. It ended 1-1 and we were through 5-2 on aggregate Final - The big one, hopefully my final 2 games in North America, standing in our way was Tigres, probably the hardest team we could've got, they are 2nd in the league behind us so it's going to be tough. Once again the first leg was away and it was very cagey, not many chances and not much action. Tigres took the lad after 33 minutes then sat back and soaked up our pressure, we couldn't find a way through and the game ended 1-0. Then to the home leg, we had to be careful, we couldn't afford to concede but had to attack. I went with my tried and trusted 4231 formation and it worked a treat, we scored just before halftime to level the tie and scored 2 more goals in the second half to win the game 3-0 and 3-1 on aggregate. WE ARE NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONS! I always expected to win it although it was tough towards the end. And my one season with Monterray is over, it's now time to move on and try and win either the South American or European Champions Leagues before finishing off the other leagues I need to win. What is more important at the moment is trying to tick off some of the international competitions which I currently haven't won any! The 2027 Copa American is coming up with Chile and hopefully we have a decent chance of challenging for the title after that I'll be looking for a bigger and better international job to try and win some trophies quickly. I'll hopefully be updating you very soon with either the Copa America or a new domestic job Season Team Position Notes and Achievements 17/18 Thanda Royal Zulu 1st South African 1st Division Champs 18/19 Thanda Royal Zulu 1st South African Premier Division Champs 19/20 Thanda Royal Zulu 2nd SA Knockout Cup and Super 8 Winner 2021 Thanda Royal Zulu African Champions League Winners 2022 Shanggang 1st Chinese Super League, Chinese Cup and Asian Champions League Winners 23/24 Cruz Azul 4th/4th Mexican Opening Stage and Mexican Cup Champions 24/25 Cruz Azul 1st/6th Nothing Won! 26/27 Monterray 1st/1st Opening/Closing Stage Winner and NACL Winners Challenge Progress Club 3/10 top domestic leagues (South Africa - Thanda Royal Zulu 2019, China - Shanggang 2022, Mexico - Cruz Azul 2024) 3/10 domestic cups (South Africa - Thanda Royal Zulu 2020, China - Shanggang 2022, Mexico - Cruz Azul 2024) 3/5 club continental championships (Africa - Thanda Royal Zulu 2021, Asian - Shanggang 2022, North America - Monterray 2027) 0/1 club world championship International 0/5 continental tournaments () 0/2 world tournaments ()
  15. A very quick update. Its taken well over 12 months but I've eventually been offered a new job, it's gonna be a short one (I hope) but I've absolutely fell on my feet with this one. After all the leagues I've loaded to give myself a better chance of a job it ends up that I go back to Mexico Yep that's right I'm going back to Mexico to take over my nemesis at Cruz Azul. Monterray lost their manager just after the 26/27 season started because he decided to take over Argentina. What a job to get. In the NACL. Top of the Opening Stage after 3 games, £10.7m to spend on players and a squad massively better than anything else in Mexico or North America. So the plan is (seeing as I've already won the Mexican League and Cup) is to win the Opening Stage, qualify for the Copa Libertadores. Then I really should win the NACL in 1 season, as long as nothing untoward happens. I also have my shot at the Copa Lib which is a bonus. This should be a 1 season stop then I can move on knowing North America is done and complete!
