  1. Decided to start this challenge, I have loaded one of the saved games listed on the 1st page and gone with the club nearest to where I live Salisbury FC
  2. After reading some great journeyman threads on here I'm going to start my own. I've added a file which gives me virtually every nations available, my plan is to start with all the "Z" Nations, win the league with every one then move to "Y" and so on until I get to A (as if I'll get that far!!!!) So wish me luck!
  3. Afternoon all. Decided to start this challenge but as my laptop sucks it'll be on FM Touch. And after a few months of searching I have a job. Home United in the Singapore Premier League, just ended 4th and are predicted to win the league this coming season
  4. Thanks for letting me know, I knew I would get something wrong! I have restarted!
  5. After serious thought Ive decided to do this challenge for FM19, I completed it in FM17 and failed miserably in FM18! Now to decide where I am going to start, I see this year it's a) harder to get a job and b) most people are starting in Asia. Decisions, Decisions!
  6. I like the idea of this challenge but I need something answering before I start. If I get promoted from a league does that count towards the challenge or do you have to win the league? If you got promoted ending 2nd it means you would have to, at some point go back that division and win it. Including promotions probably makes it a little easier I guess Cheers
  7. Evening everyone So I've really been struggling to get a save going this year but after reading through this thread I've decided to give it a shot. The nation I've decided to start in is Austria, a season simmed and June 14th comes about, it's nice to see that the Austrian First Division has had the number of teams increased from 10 to 16 so I have 9 teams to choose from (3 were relegated and 9 promoted to increase it from 10 to 16). After a bit of investigation I decided to take the job with the team with the best Youth Facilities. So my club I am going to be is.... This should be fun! 8. 2020/21 - Season Review What a season! I completely revamped the squad and we smashed the league! Winning the league with 4 games to spare I also won the Chekatrade Trophy but no one cares about that! Onwards and upwards for me, my rep is now at 50% and I'm currently learning my Continental A Licence. Still no international job though SEASON CLUB DIVISION POSITION DOMESTIC CUP CONTINENTAL CUP INFO 17/18 Grimsby Town English League 2 15th N/A N/A Took over Nov 17 18/19 Grimsby Town English League 2 5th FA Cup 3rd Rd N/A Lost in Playoff Final 19/20 Charlton English League 1 11th N/A N/A Took over Dec 19 20/21 Charlton English League 1 1st FA Cup 3rd Rd League One Champions, Chekatrade Trophy Winners Challenge Progress Club 0/10 top domestic leagues () 0/10 domestic cups () 0/5 club continental championships () 0/1 club world championship () International 0/5 continental tournaments () 0/2 world tournaments ()
  9. @vikeologistyes they were promoted in 2nd place. Must've done a good job!
  10. 2019/20 Review - Charlton After taking over Charlton in 11th midway through the season I was confident we could push for the playoffs. At points we flirted with the top 6 but were never consistant enough in the end. Lots of players came in and some of my bigger names left which affected morale and results. I have full confidence though that next season will be a good one. The squad I have looks decent. Transfers In/Out - Everything after Dec 19 is my business If you look closely you will see we signed a 34 year old Wayne Rooney, more to be a influential player in the dressing room! The League One Final Table My Player of the Season - Ollie McBurnie In other news: I am now doing my Continental C License and my rep has increased to %, a sharp increase mainly due to the size of club I'm at What next? I'm more than likely gonna stick it out here for a season (as long as nothing massive comes up!), we can easily push for promotion and will give me a good rep increase if I can. The only issue is I clearly have very little support from the players or the board so a bad run of results could lead to me getting the boot. An international job is now one of my main priorities, I need to start ticking some trophies off! 11. @vikeologist Cheeky banana can confirm tgis to be true. Cheeky banana fm is starting very soon!
  12. 2019/20 Season - Moving clubs! I did sign a new contract with Grimsby and after a really good start the job interviews started flooding in, and just as our form started falling away (we slipped from 1st to 6th in League 2) a job offer came in from the League above and with a £2.3m transfer kitty I couldn't say no. CheekyBananaFM is off to........ Currently 11th in League 1 only 4 points off the playoffs
  13. 2018/19 Review - Grimsby Town My first full season in charge and after tonnes of player changes I finally has my squad ready for the season. And what a season it was. We were always in and around the play off spots, never dropped below 9th but never went above 5th. A good run at the end secured a play off spot with a game to spare. Not bad a for a team predicted to end 16th. Into the play offs semi finals where we faced Colchester, we drew the first leg 1-1 (away) and smashed them 4-0 in the second leg. In the final we faced Southend and unfortunately it wasn't meant to be as we lost the tie 2-1. Gutted to come so far and fall short at the final hurdle. We had a decent run in the FA Cup getting to the 3rd Round where we got a money-spinning tie away to Liverpool. We lost the game 5-1 but made £900k in gate receipts! In other news - I have gained my National C Licence and have just been given the OK to start doing my National B Licence. Plans for next season - My contract is about to run out and currently I haven't been offered a new deal, after the season we have had I expect to be offered one. I will take it if it comes up but am actively going to look for a bigger job to improve my rep (this is currently 15%). If I don't get offered another job it isn't the end of the world. The Liverpool tie and the Play off final has bumped our bank balance up from -£400k to £1.5m. They have given me around £30k in transfer money and around £10k in extra wage budget to spend. 14. 2017/18 Review - Grimsby Town - League Two This is gonna be titled "the good, the bad and the downright bloody chaotic!" We took over in 23rd place and results have been mixed to say the best. First the good: Then the bad: Then the downright chaotic: This has been the tale of the season, but in the end, we did more than enough to fend away the chance of relegation ending 15th in the league. No cups as we were already out. So a decent first season. Defensively we need a massive shake-up!!! Some hard work ahead. Money here is really bad as well so can't see any chance of doing any coaching badges, I'll just keep plodding along and hope my rep increases and actively look for bigger and better jobs!
  15. Well I have my first job and it's a real surprise. I really didn't expect to be offered a job in League Two of England but my first interview and my first job offer is with Grimsby! Currently 23rd in League Two after 14 games, we have a little bit of ground to make up on the teams above us. This is a really interesting start to the challenge. The aim now is to stay up, get some badges and increase my reputation as quickly as possible. I won't stick around here longer than 2 or 3 season and will actively look for a bigger job to improve my rep as quick as possible
