    Not much he can do when the option fans are desperate for is.....Füllkrug. Think that explains why Germany struggled more than anything to do with the coach.

    Are they 'very good'? Or are they just recognised names in terms of African football? I'd like to see Africa get an extra spot just because I like seeing those names and teams in the event - just a bit cult seeing Nigeria at a World Cup - but I don't really think they're particularly good.

    There's usually one that makes a meal of it, but I'm finding it hard to predict which one. Holland seems the most likely from the draw and how they play, plus who they're playing. Would probably add Portugal next but only because Switzerland are just going to make it awkward. I'm not including Japan-Croatia in this because I don't see Croatia as that clear a favourite, if at all. Argentina you'd say have the capacity to struggle, but I think they're getting better with every game, and Australia are pretty **** tbh.

    The last two or three groups yeh. A and B final games weren't that exciting. Nor was France's group. Posted it in the other thread, but the big teams resting players I feel opened it up a bit over the last couple of nights. They were willing to risk either 1st place or qualification altogether so that they could give some guys a rest.

    I think teams resting players has opened it up for some drama. The bigger nations have been willing to risk something - whether that's qualification or 1st place - in favour of resting players. Someone mentioned in another thread that the group stages were more condensed and so fewer days between each group game, which I didn't realise, so probably explains why they've done it

    Feels like this group has the lowest chance of drama or shenanigans, with the way the games have panned out

    Spain changed almost half their team yesterday, and had Simón make a bad error. Japan were excellent for 20 mins in the second half but they had a bit of help. This is the same team that also lost to Costa Rica

    Think Spain are in a slightly easier half. Portugal QF is easier than Brazil. Only have to play one of England/France for a potential SF

    Come on They're clearly a good team but there's obvious flaws with how they play their football and weaknesses to exploit.

    Germany piling up the goals does nothing here. Just ensures Spain are going through. Japan are the ones at risk until the final whistle now
