  1. Endrick is another example: To be fair, he's still developed. Here he is at 23 years-old (note that he's got more appearances for Brazil than Real, which ties in with what @tezcatlipoca665 says above) But this is clearly more through training/staff/facilities and playing for Brazil rather than game time with Real Madrid He has a PA of so should really be Pele by this point. Despite not playing him they've just given him a new long-term contract on big money, so unless they suddenly start picking him then he'll end up being 27 years-old with 100 Brazil caps and about 10 senior appearances for Madrid.
  2. I can't confirm or deny this is true, I can only give an example from my save. Below is the career of Lesley Ugochukwu in 29/30. Using the IGE I can see he has a PA of and a CA of It's clear his career has been a waste and he's barely developed. Of course, there is no saying he is going to be anything special IRL but a human FM manager should have turned him into a world-beater by 2029.

  4. Well, I guess the game has been quite a big part of my life and I'd like to still enjoy it when I do play it. As I said, hopefully FM25 brings the enjoyment back but if not then FM will join the SNES, N64, Xbox etc. and my 'gaming' days will be behind me. p.s. My 'peak' CM years were High School, particuarly the summer holidays. I'd spend a lot of time at my cousin's and we'd be out playing football during the day and then sleep in shifts overnight so we could keep the seasons going; those were the days!

After we've played a while, we go into each save with a posteriori knowledge of which tactics/instructions work and which don't, which players are good, which develop well, which players are whingers, which staff are good etc. So it takes a lot of self-discipline to not sign the same players and staff each time and use the same meta tactic. It's actually quite a strange situation for a computer game; I doubt many people play COD and deliberately miss headshots while sniping to make it more interesting! The new features have generally been underwhelming for years now and unfortunately it kind of feels the whole franchise and community is running out of steam and ideas. I've been playing CM/FM for not far off 30 years and am hoping FM25 is a fresh start as I can't see myself playing for much longer if things stay the same. Time becomes harder to find as you get older with a family and career and unfortunately FM is turning into a waste of time.
  6. Have they recently changed manager/tactics? I noticed on my save Newcastle were selling a few big players (AMRL and AMC types) and it seems it was because Inzaghi had come in and had started playing 532.
  7. I also aim for 2 players per position. For positions like DC where I typically have 2 players, one backup will be a promising youngster who’ll get minutes to develop and another will be a solid player, nothing flash, low wages, good personality who is happy to be a backup. I’ll then try and get another players to make it 25, usually solid ‘John O Shea’ types who can cover a few positions. However in FM24 it seems key to have 2 decent backup keepers.
  8. Thanks for the tip @blakecarterrr! Have you tried changing the position/role weight when you use it? I’ve started to make that number higher so give more weight to the role as found DM usually suggested defensive positioning but that felt ‘wrong’ in some cases for SV(A).

  11. Especially with a volatile and confrontational media-handling style! He must kick off at journalists in the most passive aggressive manner ever.
  12. To add, maybe in FM25 they should add a ‘wokeness’ attribute that determines how the board invests the money e.g. renewable or fossil fuels. If they invest in fossil fuels then it increases the chances of matches being abandoned or delayed by pitch invasions by Just Stop Oil. Then the manager can get asked about it in the next press conference. Depending on their response, the fans could turn on them resulting in them being ‘cancelled’ and hounded out of the job. In a similar vein, if the manager ever chooses the ‘kick chair’ reaction they find themselves at the centre of a workplace bullying investigation and sacked. Due to the introduction of women’s football, there is also scope for a manager to have an inappropriate chat with a player which also results in them being sacked. Plenty options to add realism to help with immersion!
  13. lol. I’ve had it a few times over the years. What I’d like to think happens is that if the ever club is in serious financial difficulties then this fund is used to sort out the finances and a similar sum will magically reappear.
  14. You can use various free 3rd party tools to see CA/PA. However, I don’t know if someone who is not the host can use them (I’d guess not as they typically read RAM)
  15. Regarding the shift from CM to DM then this thread is nice. Based on manager attributes in the editor and the tendencies in their profiles, I’ve always presumed those change the ‘sliders’ in the tactic creator. I guess that is why FM Pep/City are not as good as real-life City as his attributes are based on real-life interpretation but it doesn’t translate to success on the match engine. It’s also interesting to watch the roles/duties of the opposition AI change during a game. I recall playing Liverpool and Salah/TAA alternated in a 4231. Salah would be IF(A) while TAA was WB(S). Then Salah would move to support and TAA went to attack. I can’t be sure, but based on a features video I saw with Miles a few years back, I think the quality of your performance analysts determine how quickly you get the in-match information about opposition roles (and possibly the accuracy? Pure speculation on my part!)

  17. To further add to this (although I've no proof from an earlier save) below is an image from one of my staff members. I'm pretty sure when I appointed them, they were not '100%/full green' coach and were more of a scout. I employ them as a coach so I speculate that after a season as a coach, they become 'natural'/full green as a coach and as they are at/close to their PA, their attributes re-weight and drop, just as it does when a player learns a new position.
  18. One of my best coaches is female (I'm using a 3rd party update so she may not appear on the original database). SI are clearly a very progressive organisation; sexist football phrases like 'target man' and 'man marking' have been replaced by more inclusive phrases like 'target forward' and 'player marking' ahead of the introduction of female/women's football. I would imagine a search filter as you suggest will be introduced in FM25 (obviously including a non-binary option as well as male/female)
  19. It may also depend on the club/facilities/standard e.g. 62 year old coach, goes from Huddersfield Assistant Manager to Utd U18 coach. Working at a better club with better staff and facilities may make development more rapid.
  20. I do see arrows on some staff - maybe it is just a question of timing e.g. arrows only appear when there has been a change in the last month. As you say, an equivalent staff progress/development page would be useful to see longer term development.
  21. @xavinwonderland makes a very good point here and I would say I fall into that category. I find it much more interesting these days to try and dig under the hood a little to try and figure out how things work. We may not figure things out exactly, but you generally get a feeling of how it works and I personally find this more intellectually stimulating then having pretend press conferences with pretend journalists and pretend conversations with pretend agents. I see no issue with this (nor sharing 'findings' with the community) but it all needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and avoid drawing too many conclusions. Too often things become gospel and are taken as conclusive proof by some, and on the other hand, often immediately shot down by others. Society (especially online) is becoming more and more divided and it's a bit sad how things often degenerate into pointless aruguments. I looked at @xavinwonderland's profile to see if he had any other interesting posts and it is a shame that he's not been on the forum since September 2021. Hopefully any backlash, arguments, being shot down were the reasons why he no longer posts or visits as that is not good for the SI community at all.
  22. Don’t forget duties (D/S/A) when thinking about roles. The duty determines the mentality/risk (forward runs, forward passes, dribbles). You want to have players in each strata who can break the lines. For example, with a back 4 all on defend, it may be hard to progress the ball forwards from the back. I like to have (at least) full-back on attack to push forward. Suppose it is DL. I’ll then put the left DM on defend to cover. If I have the AMR on attack, then I’ll keep the DR on defend.
  23. I personally wouldn’t say they know. How they behave will be more determined by instructions and PPM. So you could tell a player with poor tackling to ‘Ease off tackles’ or train a player with poor long shots to develop the ‘Refrains from taking long shots’ PPM.
  24. Could add 'Minutes' to the squad view. Doesn't show %age, but if you compare the number to the highest in your squad it'll give you an idea.
