  1. I think this is the extent to which those mental attributes matter from my own experience with the game. You also often see those backroom staff in the favored personnel of the Youth products of your academy which shows that their personality definitely rubs off on the young whippersnappers. As for the difference an attribute or two here and there makes, I’m not quite sure.
  2. @Persephone How is the Merovingian doing? I can't believe I'm meeting someone from The Matrix at last.
  3. 1 + 1 = 2 (not 2!). Why put the prime? There's no mathematical reason to do so.
  4. I don't know if this is still the same in newer versions of the game, but from the time the Tech. Dir. was a role in the game, he had the power to fire the manager. So, the first thing I always do when I go to a club is, Fire the Technical Director. It absolutely made no logical sense that the manager can fire the T.D. and the T.D. can fire the manager. Illogical and absurd.
  5. I think I’ve had a similar observation to the OP all these years and it’s really really annoying. But I wonder how much that body language actually had on their performance and how that can be measured? I also notice that they usually go straight from complacent to variants of nervous and nerves once the score becomes closer (from their being complacent!). So I’d rather term it “overconfident”, but I wonder how much impact it has on their actual performance
  6. Is it just me, or was this exact same topic discussed in General Discussion days ago?!
  7. But it certainly looks like something that should make a difference, if not, why do they do coin flips to decide who takes first?
  8. Why did they do away with the ABBA method by the way?
  9. Football is a mental game; both literally and figuratively! How did the French team just gain so much confidence from their 1st goal after playing nothing till then, and Arg just lose all their fortitude! We saw it happen against Spain, Germany and a few others. The World Cup of comebacks And that referee deserves a mention. It will take some effort looking for the post to upvote it where others mentioned it, but he had a perfect game getting all the major decisions spot on.
  10. What a final. What a tournament. What legends.. This Mbappe guy should really have left France and gone to one of the bigger leagues when he had the chance. Very bad decision on his part and I equate it slightly ahead of Neymar leaving FCBarcelona to go to PSG as one of the worse transfers/decisions of recent years. He's just shackled himself professionally over there in the French capital. Also, watch out for this France team when these youngsters all mature a bit more.. Once it went to penalties, I had an inkling Argentina would win because they had more experienced players but this French team, when/if it comes of age, would be fantastic to watch. I'm happy for Messi. Watched him when he came up and to finally see this happen, I'd quote Rowling "All is finally well in the world". I hope the success of this tournament doesn't make people forget the atrocities that Qatar pioneer and perpetuate. And finally, I second those saying that the World Cup should be played in the middle of the season. It makes for a better show having fit players.
  11. For those looking for a view, Bein Sports will be showing it live on their YouTube channel
  12. You know, I’m starting to think Argentina or France might win this. They’re the two best teams left.
  13. My eyes were just drawn to the bomb scare stuff... I was like, OMG! Somehow, I was always just waiting for some news like that coming from this tournament. Thank God it was just a metaphor
  14. https://y99.in/r/845216 Some discussion of the game in live chat.. Hmm
  15. Yeah. That’ll be a dream come true. I hope it happens for him.
  16. I don't have the FM version for this year, but in FM 14 I know that the AI used this. I haven't played FM21 long enough to notice if it's there (the latest version of the game that I own). Also, you can really only notice this if you watch the full matches as it's not too common (though I think it was more common in older versions (FM17 and back)). Why do you care though? It's not like it's a big thing to make their tactics any more effective.
  17. No surprise mate. It’s been eating full fat all these years. ☺️ Haven’t you heard the phrase “full fat FM” before? We all miss FM Classic, both figuratively and literally
  18. I don’t have the game, so I’m forcing myself not to comment on some of the feedback on here… But I just gotta say, when people say it’s the best M.E. ever made, what are they basing that on? Coz some of the gameplay I’m seeing uploaded here are worse than in FM14
  19. Well, those are good. But I was more specifically referring to the tactics of it. Do the guys that love to run with the ball every time in real life, do it? How are the tactics compared to FM21? What about the pressing and other tactical stuff. Not really about the graphics of the 3D display match view
  20. How does the ME compare to FM 21? We need people to compare the better versions of the ME, as some people do believe that the FM21 ME is still top of the tree when it comes to realism and general play. Do the IF and Wingers behave even more like their real life reps than in FM21? How about pressing and defense compactness? How do the sweeper keepers compare on both the versions in question? C’mon people, give us some more detailed reports. I know this is beta though, so there’s that too …
  21. I’m still hoping to know why the pitch textures and face Gen graphics changed. I have FM14 and 21. I can see the difference in those aspects of the games. The FM 14 pitch looks better. Why? I don’t need conjecture or speculation. We used to have an Ask-SI-Anything thread for these sort of questions. We need answers as to what changed from management. Was also going to throw my 2 cents into the other conversations, but who can afford that these days!? I agree with XaW who insists on prioritizing improving longer term play of AI competitiveness and team building. As much as this pains me, I’ll take a leaf from #DiaperDon and say Make The A.I. Great Again
