After a long absence I am very pleased to see the time and effort going in to this, and that Viking has allowed you the opportunity to further your career. It's good to see the route you have taken to get this far, very realistic and a great story. I have no idea where you get the time for all these long updates, but it's very easy to follow. Finally, I like the squad you have at your disposal. Lots of these players are very familiar, but there are a few who are off radar and it's good to hear about them. The title challenge has been a bit epic, and maybe that Odd (or was it?) result might just have made the difference. But a very strong season anyway, whatever happens.

Just catching up on your progress. The squad seems to have had some good additions since I last checked in and despite some difficult moments, all in all this has to be seen as a very good spell in charge here. Good luck in the remaining eight league games and in the FA Cup!

I have a very similar view on the comments in bold. Particularly the interactions. With each version, the game does probably get 'more realistic' and there are obvious improvements. Plus the match engine and graphics are great in FM24. On the flip side, each virtual season takes longer year-on-year, and the 'childlike' tantrums, reactions, interactions and complaining make it more of a grind than the pleasure many of us would like to see. You're doing well at Valencia and the future is bright, with some positive targets within your reach. Hopefully if you do take a break, you'll feel refreshed and come back to this one. But sometimes the break makes it hard to re-visit the save too, as I have just encountered myself with Servette in Switzerland.

Good to see you having good success with Southampton. The routine promotion isn't a shock with the combination of squad strength, facilities, budget & successful manager abilities, but you're already doing a fine job in the top flight which is no easy task. You've gone way past my brief half-season effort with Saints in the early months of FM24, and no doubt you'll continue in style

Hello again, I have been away for a long time due to a combination of real life distractions which included the festive season, travelling, illness, work, and even an actual disillusionment with real life football etc. More than a month ago I did get to the winter break of my first year in Switzerland and this is shown below. And things were going fairly well in truth (and much better than at FC Basel). Unfortunately the month away from FM had it's usual impact and I've decided to admit failure on this one. I'll instead be starting up with the first club I had in mind to manage even before the game launched in October. My FM24 record so far is poor - one completed season with FC Heidenheim, and aborted first season efforts with Southampton, Notts County and now Servette. Hopefully my new club will get me back in to the groove.

Catching up now and pleased to see your move to Hodd. A bigger club for you, but still up against bigger ones so still a challenge to make a lasting impression. Best of luck in this new season.

Maybe I see your issue, top scorer on four after 14 games. Suggests it's not the player who leads the line, more the pieces around him. Either that or play Strasbourg every game as that went well I remember Michelin from many years ago in France. Hasn't turned in to the Michelin star that his early games suggested, but pleased to see he is still a decent option.

I often find lone strikers become quite isolated. This 442 was one of the few formations I felt would work with a four-man defensive system, I'd probably play a pressing forward or advanced forward if I only had one striker.

Thank you! So you must have picked him up on a free transfer then? Not a bad swoop. Before his injury I used him as PF (attack) or TF (attack) depending on who his partner was. The preference was to have him and Junior Ligue paired, which meant Bedia often played as the target forward.

Sorry for the late reply. I've decided Dave is too controversial/outspoken to be our Chairman, and Nigel Howe's appeal dwindled on the unconfirmed allegation that he may have had something to do with the rogue Chris Samuelson apparently being back around the club recently. So I've installed Mark Bowen as Chairman and just a final few tweaks to go before having everything as it should be. I agree that taking on the club with the current owners is not at all attractive. Enjoy your time in Italy!

After 'virtually living' in Innsbruck and Valencia during the last few FM years, Geneva seems like a nice place to stay No real goals, but I'll be hoping we can challenge for the title on our 25th anniversary. Not expecting much at all in Europe, but would hope to be back there in some form after the first season. The club has a strong philosophy to bring through home-grown players, so we'll try to increase the local Swiss contingent either internally or externally, and also aim to reduce the French element. It was a close call between this and a club in Denmark, but hopefully I can do that one too. Happy to finally begin trimming down the list of possibles (just four or five now including one EFL club, VfB Stuttgart and one in Italy later).
