You wait until the next round of European U-21 internationals and you go through their squads to find the unattached players and invite them for a trial. It seems to be a more realistic method of finding players with no scouting budget for me as you can just look at a countries' FA website/Twitter account and they have the full squads on there. So, we're out on the top top countries, obviously, but since our promotion to the second tier, we've got a better selection! Let's see what we can pick up. D/WBL Aventis Aventisian (Greece, ranked 41st in the World) He meets all the DNA requirements... But he just isn't good enough to get a spot at the club. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial DC Sergio Yakublv (Ukraine, ranked 40th in the World) He also meets all the DNA requirements. But the Pace, Acceleration and Tackling worries me. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial MC/AMC Endri Muhameti (Albania, ranked 51st in the World) He (barely) meets all the DNA requirements and doesn't look a bad player. My issue is that he won't get anywhere near the first team for a while and that will probably lead to unrest. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial AMRLC/ST Mateusz Musialowski (Poland, ranked 35th in the World) Our first player from within the top 40 World Nations! He's talented, but his Stamina is shocking and his Work Rate is right on the line. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial ML/AMRL Arlind Rexhepi (Albania, ranked 51st in the World) Our second Albanian of the trials. He's not terrible, but we have better options at ML and he would be third choice at best. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial ST Birkir Jakob Jónsson (Iceland, ranked 47th in the World) A decent prospect, albeit one who failed DNA on Work Rate. That coupled with the fact he'd be 3rd/4th choice means he will be Let Go at the end of the trial DC Samo Matjaz (Iceland, ranked 57th in the World) Tall boi. And a massive DNA failure on Determination. Plus, I like my defenders with decent Pace & Acceleration. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial D/MC Demirel Hodžić (Bosnia & Herzogovnia, ranked 44th in the World) Meets all the DNA requirements, but there is a logjam at DM and I don't believe he'll fit in to the first team. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial DRC Cathal Heffernan (Republic of Ireland, ranked 50th in the World) Hello, Big Sexy! All the attributes in the right places and fits the DNA profile. He definitely will be Offered a Contract at the end of the trial GK Jakub Vinarcik (Slovakia, ranked 57th in the World) Decent young keeper, but I have three. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial D/WBL Szymon Gaj (Poland, ranked 35th in the World) Fits the DNA profile and is a decent enough full back. However, he was released from Juvenuts, so I'm not sure that he'll come for cheap so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial ST Matous Krulich (Czech Republic, ranked 37th in the World) Out on the DNA profile on both Work Rate and Stamina and, frankly, isn't good enough, so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial ST Martin Parilla (Slovakia, ranked 57th in the World) A pure central midfielder. A position we don't use and the time it would take to retrain would waste our time, so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial MC/AMC Tamás Galántai (Hungary, ranked 47th in the World) The rare DNA fail on all aspects, so without a second glance, he will be Let Go at the end of the trial DC Maldini Kacurri (Albania, ranked 51st in the World) OMG, wow. However, our protests were not heeded by the board, which meant I had to offer him out on my terms in order to get a better deal. As ever, we will sign all the youth players and work on their flaws. At this level, our players Dockside Natural Ability (DNA) will need to be 9+ in the catagories of Stamina, Work Rate and Determination Erm. Anyway, let's look at our Top 3 Pros....players GK Jesper Olsson - Stamina: 5, Work Rate: 10, Determination: 14 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): FAILED Fodder. Next DC/MC Christofer Nilsson - Stamina: 11, Work Rate: 15, Determination: 6 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): FAILED More fodder. Next DRLC Jonathan Broberg - Stamina: 9, Work Rate: 14, Determination: 13 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): PASSED Passes the DNA test, but better prepare for a career around the lower leagues. We pretty much smothered the opposition with some blanket defence and quick goals. We again finished with only one defeat, a opening day 0-1 loss to second-placed Östers IF (see a pattern from last season yet?! We also finished 1st in Goals Conceded with a ridiculous 11 conceded all season in 30 games and finished 1st in Goals Scored, with Joris Manquant top scoring with 25, again breaking the club record. We also broke numerous league records too, as our points tally, amount of wins and length of time unbeaten beat the previous records held by numerous other clubs. My recent arrival from FC Barcelona's youth team in the AMC slot, Estanis Pedrola has been playing at a high level this season and is attracting a lot of interest, so we need to think about replacements already. The Incumbent He's been excellent for us in the AMC slot, so we need to get a player as close to him as possible. The Challengers M/AML Sander Sybrandy (FC Twente Enschende) - Stamina: 6, Work Rate: 8, Determination: 19 - DNA: FAILED This isn't the worst set of demands that we could have faced, but the time he would take to re-train, puts him out of the frame M/AMRLC Matej Vuić (Karlslunds IF) - Stamina: 9, Work Rate: 12, Determination: 14 - DNA: PASSED This guy looks to be worth a punt for the future, no matter what, but he's not a ready-made instant replacement M/AMLC Khalil Mezher (IF Brommapojkarna) - Stamina: 11, Work Rate: 13, Determination: 12 - DNA: PASSED There's more money here than I could possibly spend, but this seems to be a very oven-ready replacement, so I'll certainly keep an eye on him The Internal Replacement This is the Juan Roman Riquelme of replacements. Looks to be a great player mentally, but has no physicality at all, which is seriously worrying. D/WBRL/DM/MC Bali Mumba (Free Agent) We had some mediocre performances from the DR spot this season, so we got in a replacement so that we could improve Transfers OUT DM/M/AMC Giorgios Pavildes (£1k, Ethnikos Achnas)DRL/WBR Sander Brauer-Ersoy (Free, Ermis Aradippou)M/AMC Axel Henriksson (£100k, Varbergs BoIS)ST Sebastian Fosgren (£15k, Örebro SK)DC Facundo González (£3m, FC Nantes)AMRLC/ST Estanis Pedrola (£1.5m, SV Darmstadt 98) We got raided this transfer window.
