You're just going to have to develop new rivals!  Who is the best team in Sweden? Announce they are your rivals! and if they laugh it off......make sure you beat them every chance you get!

AIK Solna are currently top of the league!

So, it's 1st July. We're deep in the middle of the season, when everyone else is off? So what do you do? You wait until the next round of European U-21 internationals and you go through their squads to find the unattached players and invite them for a trial. It seems to be a more realistic method of finding players with no scouting budget for me as you can just look at a countries' FA website/Twitter account and they have the full squads on there.

So, we're out on the top top countries, obviously, but since our promotion to the second tier, we've got a better selection! Let's see what we can pick up.

85cfa5010bbae39dd0be7f066664f4d2.png

  • D/WBL Aventis Aventisian  (Greece, ranked 41st in the World)

He meets all the DNA requirements... But he just isn't good enough to get a spot at the club. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

ba2a3f17a2b42ebf7b6afa6f247b1727.png

  • DC Sergio Yakublv  (Ukraine, ranked 40th in the World)

He also meets all the DNA requirements. But the Pace, Acceleration and Tackling worries me. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

0dbf45c89a420bf8a0e9d37d2a4868a4.png

  • MC/AMC Endri Muhameti (Albania, ranked 51st in the World)

He (barely) meets all the DNA requirements and doesn't look a bad player. My issue is that he won't get anywhere near the first team for a while and that will probably lead to unrest. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

17dc1a39cd93e97b6b505d000b8bb918.png

  • AMRLC/ST Mateusz Musialowski (Poland, ranked 35th in the World)

Our first player from within the top 40 World Nations! He's talented, but his Stamina is shocking and his Work Rate is right on the line. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

471d3a24d390b574ecc8903d36d79494.png

  • ML/AMRL Arlind Rexhepi (Albania, ranked 51st in the World)

Our second Albanian of the trials. He's not terrible, but we have better options at ML and he would be third choice at best. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

5cf297b120df02a891c29c7e4e573284.png

  • ST Birkir Jakob Jónsson (Iceland, ranked 47th in the World)

A decent prospect, albeit one who failed DNA on Work Rate. That coupled with the fact he'd be 3rd/4th choice means he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

8beda3ff132ac423b74bfcab8ab44144.png

  • DC Samo Matjaz (Iceland, ranked 57th in the World)

Tall boi. And a massive DNA failure on Determination. Plus, I like my defenders with decent Pace & Acceleration. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

47acbb8be0202006be3806993c1011c1.png

  • D/MC Demirel Hodžić (Bosnia & Herzogovnia, ranked 44th in the World)

Meets all the DNA requirements, but there is a logjam at DM and I don't believe he'll fit in to the first team. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

45c480864b2cc8d7b8ac1de3086d91fe.png

  • DRC Cathal Heffernan (Republic of Ireland, ranked 50th in the World)

Hello, Big Sexy! All the attributes in the right places and fits the DNA profile. He definitely will be Offered a Contract at the end of the trial

8972cd582a7f4edf2b7878e97f3a7543.png

  • GK Jakub Vinarcik (Slovakia, ranked 57th in the World)

Decent young keeper, but I have three. So he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

e40ed78307e37c5c66f243415d047b57.png

  • D/WBL Szymon Gaj (Poland, ranked 35th in the World)

Fits the DNA profile and is a decent enough full back. However, he was released from Juvenuts, so I'm not sure that he'll come for cheap so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

c8eda7f141b1c6fabebb9c701ddcfdbb.png

  • ST Matous Krulich (Czech Republic, ranked 37th in the World)

Out on the DNA profile on both Work Rate and Stamina and, frankly, isn't good enough, so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

0e9b177d6efff4e3328b66aff84e9893.png

  • ST Martin Parilla (Slovakia, ranked 57th in the World)

A pure central midfielder. A position we don't use and the time it would take to retrain would waste our time, so he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

5b48100361619a5f926063923a7fe3c4.png

  • MC/AMC Tamás Galántai (Hungary, ranked 47th in the World)

The rare DNA fail on all aspects, so without a second glance, he will be Let Go at the end of the trial

fbef498a0107cda34e2771a3aaa0535a.png

  • DC Maldini Kacurri (Albania, ranked 51st in the World)

OMG, wow. What a beauty! He will definitely be Offered a Contract at the end of the trial

MID-SEASON TRANSFER WINDOW SUMMER 2024

Transfers IN

fbef498a0107cda34e2771a3aaa0535a.png

  • DC Maldini Kacurri (Free Agent)

A good young talent who could end up being a first team fixture hopefully

45c480864b2cc8d7b8ac1de3086d91fe.png

  • DRC Cathal Heffernan (Free Agent)

Same as Kacurri above, good depth that could become first team level

9c2fac8a5335f345479bf9d0a62e695a.png

  • AMRLC/ST Estanis Pedrola (Free Agent)

You cannot pass up talent like this. Especially as Jonas Lindberg is retiring this season.

Transfers OUT

M/AMC Horenus Tadesse (£500k, Skövde AIK)
DRC Axel Nóren (£250k, SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden)
DM/MC Joackim Åberg (£5k, Trelleborgs FF)
DM/MC Amadou Diambo (£1.2m, FC Kobenhaven) (Loan back for rest of the season)

We had a somewhat manic window. Noren was out of contract at the end of the year, Tadesse was whining about game time after only six months and wanted out, and Diambo's MRC was triggered.

This was very bad news, it was full of clauses and part payments and it really was an awful offer. However, our protests were not heeded by the board, which meant I had to offer him out on my terms in order to get a better deal. Luckily, another club took the bait and we ended up with what we wanted!

So, our 2024 academy scholars came in. We're at Adequate Youth Facilities and Average Youth Recruitment. As ever, we will sign all the youth players and work on their flaws. At this level, our players Dockside Natural Ability (DNA) will need to be 9+ in the catagories of Stamina, Work Rate and Determination

Well, this season, we far outstripped our expectations, finishing 1st in the Superettan . We pretty much smothered the opposition with some blanket defence and quick goals. We again finished with only one defeat, a opening day 0-1 loss to second-placed Östers IF (see a pattern from last season yet?! We also finished 1st in Goals Conceded with a ridiculous 11 conceded all season in 30 games and finished 1st in Goals Scored, with Joris Manquant top scoring with 25, again breaking the club record. We also broke numerous league records too, as our points tally, amount of wins and length of time unbeaten beat the previous records held by numerous other clubs.

Well, our latest pre-season was here for us. It was our first time back in the Allsvenskan since 2012. The board demands this season were; Finish mid-table in the Allsvenskan, with a transfer budget of £600k and a wage budget of £44k. Well, let's hope we hit the ground running, eh?

Pre-Season Results

42fc8bc5ffb0fa1b3802938acac71bae.png

14 goals in 8 pre-season games for Joris Manquant, as the Mackerel Goal King came back on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach

Team News

Well, we finally got some movement on our youth intakes and facilites, so hopefully we can start to produce our own youth talents.

  • D/WBL Anton Kraij (£130k, Degerfors IF ) - Stamina: 13, Work Rate: 13, Determination: 11 - DNA: PASSED

  • DM/MC Liam Thompson (Loan, permanent fee of £350k agreed, Derby County ) - Stamina: 15, Work Rate: 15, Determination: 12 - DNA: PASSED

  • MRL/AMRLC/ST Montander Madjed (Loan, permanent fee of £110k agreed, Hammarby IF ) - Stamina: 15, Work Rate: 15, Determination: 13 - DNA: PASSED

We had a serious panic attack at one point, where we didn't have a backup right winger. So this was a hurried signing.

  • DC Kristopher Da Graca (£155k, IK Sirius ) - Stamina: 12, Work Rate: 11, Determination: 13 - DNA: PASSED

Another somewhat panic buy. Luckily, he's in on a rotation contract, so he shouldn't moan if he doesn't play too much

OUT

GK Demba Thiam (£325k, Djurgårdens IF Fotboll )
AMRLC/ST Julius Lindberg (£100k, GIF Sundvall )
AMRLC/ST Tyreece John-Jules (£1m, AaB Aalborg )

We lost a lot of our right side here, but we got cover in, even if it was was rushed

  • 2 weeks later...

The bane of any up-and-coming team is having your best players stolen off you. My recent arrival from FC Barcelona's youth team in the AMC slot, Estanis Pedrola has been playing at a high level this season and is attracting a lot of interest, so we need to think about replacements already.

The Incumbent

ce4eef4fa700ead9c088c553fe6243e9.png

He's been excellent for us in the AMC slot, so we need to get a player as close to him as possible.

The Challengers

93ab35debd2e271e7fb8b882f0b5edd2.png

  • M/AML Sander Sybrandy (FC Twente Enschende) - Stamina: 6, Work Rate: 8, Determination: 19 - DNA: FAILED
  • e9c558b142350c1ca55c8464edb51cfb.png This isn't the worst set of demands that we could have faced, but the time he would take to re-train, puts him out of the frame

51fe54e88c98ded215365215ad5e308e.png

  • M/AMRLC Matej Vuić (Karlslunds IF) - Stamina: 9, Work Rate: 12, Determination: 14 - DNA: PASSED
  • aa05e657304f989d6b011bd1dac625f8.png This guy looks to be worth a punt for the future, no matter what, but he's not a ready-made instant replacement

e398c235e049457dd5fccc1fb09b9a62.png

  • M/AMLC Khalil Mezher (IF Brommapojkarna) - Stamina: 11, Work Rate: 13, Determination: 12 - DNA: PASSED
  • edf173b3806b9ca78157a2f778470e18.png There's more money here than I could possibly spend, but this seems to be a very oven-ready replacement, so I'll certainly keep an eye on him

The Internal Replacement

b8a71eb1c4b5f2f70b5421ef881d201e.png

This is the Juan Roman Riquelme of replacements. Looks to be a great player mentally, but has no physicality at all, which is seriously worrying. I think he may be the best option, with Khalil Mezher coming in for cheaper

So, our 2025 academy scholars came in. Thanks to some improvements, we're at Average Youth Facilities and Above Average Youth Recruitment. Well. The intake wasn't great, but I'm hoping that Becker is good enough to tide us over

Anyway, let's look at our Top 3 Prospects

7d81d5d8d08e7eda4a0259f93ac47f34.png

  • MR Jonas Becker - Stamina: 11, Work Rate: 11, Determination: 12 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): PASSED

Becker isn't 100%, but he could become a backup and is clearly the class of this intake

f8114bb69cd6d8d854829e2700cb5fff.png

  • MR/AMRC/ST Bekir Vasic - Stamina: 9, Work Rate: 7, Determination: 13 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): FAILED

Errr... he's not great and if he doesn't improve, he's gone

20998bf4312322133945c0fdc4804a80.png

  • GK Mikael Englund - Stamina: 6, Work Rate: 11, Determination: 12 - DNA (Dockside Natural Ability): FAILED

Another poor goalie. We're stuck replacing players via free agency or transfer until we get better

MID-SEASON TRANSFER WINDOW SUMMER 2025

Transfers IN

9ecadf5ebea605f8eb3d5c35dacd56cc.png

  • AMRLC/ST Lucas Widström (£500kDegerfors IF)

Our local replacement for Pedroia, but I stupidly allowed him to stay on loan at Degerfors for the season.

d966dc82d7211b52dc9942b0472de43d.png

  • M/AMRLC Matej Vuić (FreeKarlslunds IF)

Matej came up in our search for a replacement AMC. He's got talent, just needs to develop

579f785eb6e7de05892a0980711d5031.png

  • MR/AMRL Fran Pérez (Loan - £140k feeAC Fiorentina)

Just needed to get a cover for the AMR position, only for him to be worth a starting role.

8dc268169a6c9129976892163273cd6b.png

  • D/WBRL/DM/MC Bali Mumba (Free Agent)

We had some mediocre performances from the DR spot this season, so we got in a replacement so that we could improve

Transfers OUT

DM/M/AMC Giorgios Pavildes (£1k, Ethnikos Achnas)
DRL/WBR Sander Brauer-Ersoy (Free, Ermis Aradippou)
M/AMC Axel Henriksson (£100k, Varbergs BoIS)
ST Sebastian Fosgren (£15k, Örebro SK)
DC Facundo González (£3m, FC Nantes)
AMRLC/ST Estanis Pedrola (£1.5m, SV Darmstadt 98)

We got raided this transfer window. Lost our best player and our best defender is a huge issue and we also shed some salary from a lot of dead weight.
