Punch
APR 2030 - Match Day 45 It was a party at The Bowl in front of over 5,300 as Colchester had no answers. A brilliant all round performance as we got the job done in emphatic style to march to our 14th straight win, and onto the podium to collect the League Two Trophy as Champions. Hull could only manage a draw at home to Cheltenham, but it mattered little, as our victory ended their title hopes. The play off places are now all confirmed, just the order to be finalised, while there are still three teams in contention for the final automatic promotion slot. While at the other end of the table, there are still three teams in contention to be relegated. Up next...we have one away game left in early May, away to 23rd Dag & Red who will be trying to avoid relegation. One more time, as it's going to look very pretty in our trophy cabinet.
Punch
I was considering if I should play some U18s in the last League game next month, then checked their Schedule and realised that two days later they have the second leg of the FA Youth Cup Final at The Bowl, so maybe not a good idea. They held Tottenham U18s to a 1-1 draw at Hotspur Stadium in the first leg.
Punch
APR 2030 Our stunning run of victories continued as we only conceded one goal for the month. We have not been beaten since 19th January, a 1-2 away loss to Port Vale. The Title sealed we can relax and celebrate our one game remaining, still plenty to play for, for a lot of teams though. We slammed in 125 goals so far this season, although we are still 9 goals short of Peterborough's 1960/61 record of 134. The analyst is happy, we demolished the xG again, the defence has been brilliant, and the attack is nearly off the chart. Our undefeated month rewarded me with the Manager of the Month award. We still had players on international duty at the beginning of the month, Petrosino kept his scoring groove going, netting his third international goal. Goal Scoring Goalkeeper Just Jordan Jack been playing, and with a record like that, hard to see it changing. He has racked up 21 clean sheets in 47 matches, and also scored 15 goals. Just one chance this month and he buried it, freezing the opposing keeper, for his 15th goal of the year. A perfect season from the spot so far, now has 87 career goals. Just the one game remaining and with no play offs to deal with this season, the players will be getting an early mark for the off season.
Punch
MAY 2030 - Match Day 46 After securing the League Two title, and promotion, you could have forgiven the players for taking it easy and cruising through the last match of the season...they did no such thing. It took Jordan Williams less than 35 seconds to find the back of the net, he would score three more goals on the way to breaking the clubs season goal scoring record. Jordan Jack finished the rout, and the season, with a cracker of a free kick, and then the party could start. We overturned a 12 point deficit, to win the League by 7 points. Hull are promoted with us, along with Doncaster who hung on to the final automatic promotion spot on goal difference. Stevenage, Carlisle, Scunthorpe, and Ebbsfleet will fight it out for the one remaining promotion spot, while Dag & Red, and Northampton will head back to the National League. Up next...the season is over for us, as there are no play offs for us this year. Reviews to follow.

Punch
Goal Scoring Goalkeeper Jordan Jacks curling effort was our 131st, and final goal of the season. He finishes the season perfect from the spot, and with 4 free kicks to give him 16 goals for the season, much better than last year. Now has 88 career goals, just another season like this one away from completing his century.

Just got to get it out of them now. 3 minutes ago, Sonic Youth said: Surely it’s worth pushing the capacity out to 10-15k stadium, and not just this piecemeal expanding! Two problems. 1) It's not our Stadium. It's actually owned by Douglas Council and we only rent it off them. So that kind of limits what we can or want to do. 2) I took a look in the editor a while back and I think it can only be raised to 8k. So again, limits the potential of what we can do. I am guessing at some point in the future we will need to strike out on our own and put the money into building our own Stadium. Just hope it doesn't cripple us financially trying to do it. Punch
Attribute Review Everybody's favourite time of year, as we check out the attribute scores and review the CA/PA. Goalkeepers Jordan Jack is still number 1, still improving, and still has some room to go before reaching his max potential. Will stay as number 1 next season to give him a shot at getting to 100 goals as well. Reece Foggarty will continue to be his deputy, and has show massive improvement in both attribute and ability scores. Still has plenty of potential to achieve so may not be far away from pushing Jack for the number 1 slot. John Hodgson is the highest potential keeper we've ever produced, will have another year in the 18's to develop, and has a lot of room to grow. Darryl Brown has stalled and probably won't make to be a 1st choice keeper now with 2 in line in front of him, while most of the others will probably be sent on their way with very little potential. Ethan Harrington maybe the exception, after going nowhere in his first year, has shown some signs of life this season, so there maybe a chance for him to reach some of that potential he has. Defenders Center Fabian Pociello was one of our star defenders last season, but may find himself down the order as two of last years intake have exploded to the top of the attribute tree, and still have plenty to give. Veteran Dan Connor is still hanging around and will see games time as part of the rotation. Tiarnan Sheridan and Kris Best will also see game time and have also shown massive improvement. Right Big improvements from Josh Matthews and Oliver Wylie this year. Kenneth Idowu seems to have peaked and may find himself lower down the order this season. Peder Kohlert played well this season and has improved, but has almost maxed his potential. Left Sean Bonner has improved massively, and is attracting interest from a lot of clubs. He seems happy to stay for now, which is good as I have already turned down an offer of 1.4 million, which would be double our highest ever transfer fee received. Ross Wolfe has shown good improvement, while Scott Irving has stalled, and appears to have reached his peak. Dorian Smith has plenty of potential, along with Sean Newby who has shown big improvement as well. Midfielders Advanced Play Makers Pat Millington becomes our first ever 70 pointed CM(AP) and still has massive potential. Also has the sharks from other clubs circling. Levi Halliwell found himself in the first team a lot last season and played well, has improved enormously as well. Jimmy Riley is one of the most improved players at the club with a massive 13 point jump in attribute score, along with a 41 jump in CA. Will soon find himself pushing for game time. Others appear to have stalled, although there is still room for growth if we can get it out of them. Ball Winning Midfielders Veteran Tim Powell still holds the crown here, and is still improving, and has room to improve further. A very consistent performer for a long time. Archie Adams is the new kid on the block, and will soon be knocking down the door. Jarrett, Imasuen, and Tierney appear to have reached the potential. There is still some players further down the list that have some growth left in them. Attacking Right Big growth from Kaine Tomlin this season will see him pushing Richard Paterson for the starting spot. Impressive growth from Stefan Perkins. Still a bit of work to do for a few of the others. Attacking Left Couldn't find a decent AM(L) for the first few seasons, now we have plenty. Charlie Henry continues to improve and is the highest rated player at the club. Was sold for 700k last season, and kept on loan. Has agreed to stay on loan for another season, costing us nothing. Very handy player to not have to pay anything for. Plenty of growth from a lot of the kids, and they will get their chance in the rotation when Henry needs to be rested. Forwards Ryan Lewis was a shock, has improved massively over the season. Jordan Williams and Marco Petrosino just got better as the season went on. Brett Potts and Brian McCarthy find themselves pushed down the order. There are also a few of the AM's that can play here if needed. Best XI Our average has jumped impressively this season, and we now have plenty of options and competition in every position.
Punch
10 Years of the Ravens FC Isle of Man has just completed it's 10th year in existence, so I though it would be good to take a look at how far we have come, and whats been happening in the world since we started. In 10 seasons, we have been promoted 7 times, from the North West Counties Division One South (Level 10) to League One (Level 3) on the English pyramid. In 7 promotions, we have won 6 League Titles, and been promoted once through the play offs. We have also won 8 Cups on our way up. We have never spent more than 2 seasons in any League. On promotion to the National League system, we spent only 3 seasons in total, before being promoted to League Football. We have played just over 550 games, and won 67% of them. We have scored over 100 goals in 4 of our last 5 seasons. Around the World World Cups Holland and England have won the two world cups since we came to be, and there will be another this year. African Cup of Nations It's been shared around a bit. Asian Cup My home nation, Australia won their second Asian Cup, while South Korea won the most recent edition. Copa America European Championship It's been shared, although Portugal have lost 2 of the last 3 finals Club Champions Leagues Africa Asia North America Europe Euro Cup Euro Cup II Top 10 Leagues Turkey recently jumped up to push the Scottish Premier League into 11th. Closer to home - English Premier League The same four clubs have won all of the last 10 EPLs, and only Tottenham has broken their strangle hold on the top three, and only once. We've come a long way in 10 years..."but there's so much more, yet to be told..."
Punch
Off-season and pre-season things 5 more players were released at the end of their contracts. A combination of not playing, not good enough, and/or been overtaken in the pecking order by new players. Round One of the League Cup sees Wigan come to the Bowl. Wigan beat us the first two times around, and we beat them the next two. Friendly Season kicks off. We've set a decent number of games to get some work into the legs before our maiden League One campaign.

At that time I removed some of the lower English Leagues as well.
Punch
The previous offer was 1.4 million with no extras, non-negotiable, so I rejected it. They came back at 1.6 million, negotiable, so I made the offer completely ridiculous as I don't really want to sell him, but I can see I am going to struggle to keep him. He isn't too upset as it's not Newcastle, where he wants to go. If Newcastle come in with an offer, I might have a problem.
Punch
...and then it happened I got Newcastle up to 1 million up front, plus two 1 million installments, plus the usual additions, and they accepted. We get to keep him for a year for free, and to be honest, I think we got a steal here. He is a very good young player, but we also have some very good Left Backs coming through. This deal will also keep us funded for the next two seasons. So we smash our record transfer fee, and in the last 18 months, we have sold our class of 27 A, B, & C, for a combined total of 4.2 million. I have updated their current values as of now, and we are still coming out in front. Seems like a steal to have sold the Eric Croft clause. He has played a total of 4 games for Sunderland in 4 years. I certainly don't see him going for 1.6 million or more to have made it worth us keeping the clause.

Fitzpatrick will be the U18s keeper. Defence: Center: Diniz will be the main stay in the center of defence, with rotation for the other three Right: Light on choices at Right Back, both these guys will share the duties. Left: A few options available here, so might be some rotation. Munro can help out on the right if needed. Midfielders: BWMs: On attributes alone, Lehmann is the best player in the club, but as we don't use and AM(C), he is actually better as a BWM, so will be retrained as such. Fitzgerald and Rushton also look capable. APs: Suarez and McCreadie will share the roll, but all the center midfielders will be interchangeable when required. Attacking Right: Plenty of options here, and rotation shouldn't be an issue on this side of the pitch, and many of these guys can also help out on the left. Attacking Left: Good options available on this side as well, with help from the right sided guys when needed. Pressing Forwards: Taylor the obvious standout, with plenty of supporting options, and some young kids who might be future prospects. Best XI: A pretty decent looking lineup to get us started, although we could be a little light on the center and left of defence. Looking forward to seeing what these guys can do. Sorry to ask as you have probably answered it a few times! What are you basing your attributes on? It's based on the formula from @Jtomsett11's Back the Bulls thread, which he borrowed as well, I believe from @shaunvamos, and I apologise if I credited the wrong person there. I have adjusted the formula's to match the positions I use in my tactic. It averages the players attributes, both the green and yellow, when you look at the positions, but the yellows get a 66% weighting. It's just a different way to monitor player growth/decline, and compare their positional abilities. Edited January 10, 2022 by Punch
Punch
JUL 2030 We got in plenty of friendlies to get running into the players legs before our maiden League One campaign. Jordan Williams form is ridiculous, he put away 20 goals in the matches he played. The finances look pretty healthy after we sold Sean Bonner, we now also don't have to pay him for the season. A busy first month in League One kicks off away to Oxford, before we welcome Gillingham to The Bowl, which is still undergoing renovations. The Carabao/League/Beer Cup also kicks off with Wigan traveling to the Isle.
Punch
I noticed this pop up. That's an eye watering amount of money to be offered to sell his clause. We are not hurting for money, and I would ideally like to see him play some more games for them to see what he is capable of before making that decision, but they would need to sell him for nearly 8.5 million for us to get a better deal. But that's an awful lot of money for this club, so turning it down is not going to be an easy decision. @Jtomsett11, as the guru of clauses, would be interested to hear your thoughts on this one

Punch
So with the season about to kick off, this is what the bookies think. Well we are not last, but in the relegation area. It's interesting to read through what some of these teams are spending on wages. MK Dons are at about 15 million, Huddersfield at just under 15 million have had a massive fire sale, as they were spending 26 million originally, but have since transferred out over 14 million worth of players. A lot over teams are spending over 10 million, the average seems to be in the 8-10 million range, while there is a few spending in the 3-5 million range. Then there is our little island club...spending 1.2 million a year at the moment. That isn't a typo. We could increase our wage spending 10 times, and still be spending 2-3 times our current wages less than the top teams...insane. Up next...kick the tyres and light the fires. The Ravens take flight for their 11th season, and 1st in League One.
Punch
AUG 2030 - Match Day 1 What a start to our League One season. Macro Petrosino showed why he is attracting interest from higher level clubs, in a couple of countries, Jordan Williams picked up where he left off last season, and through the friendlies, while Levi Halliwell continued to improve on his breakout season in League Two last year. Jordan Jack continued his great form in goal, making several good saves, and setting up a goal, while there were plenty of solid contributions across the defence and midfield. We're off and running with a win. Not worth reading much into the table at this stage. I had forgotten about our winning run to end last season, which had reached 15 games, and with this win, we have broken our own club record winning run. Actually I hadn't considered the likelihood of improvement in terms of CA/PA, which I probably should have looked at. He is only 19, but currently shows as CA 121, and PA 128. So even though he's still young, he is not going to improve a lot more. Oh well, lesson learned. But I will keep an eye out to see if another buyout offer comes up.
Punch
AUG 2030 - Match Day 4 Nothing much to say about this game, other than we won. We couldn't hit the target, but they were worse. Our defence was very string at closing them down, but we were poor in our execution up front. Jordan Williams is a worry, after scoring at will for the last few years, and in pre-season, he seems to have forgotten how to put the ball in the net. A win moves us up a few spots into the top half of the table. Huddersfield, despite shedding a lot of players after being relegated, still appear to be the team to beat. Up next...We head to Elland Road to face EPL Leeds in the 2nd Round of the Carabao/League/Beer Cup.
Punch
AUG 2030 - Carabao Cup 2nd Round Our best ever result in the Beer Cup as we knock over Leeds. Taking an early lead, we then trailed 1-2 just after half time before a Jordan Williams Brace gave us an unlikely 3-2 lead. We couldn't hold on though and conceded a late equaliser. Neither team could take advantage in extra time, but it was a brave effort from our lads to play a man down for the last half hour, and extra time, after Charlie Henry was sent off just after the hour mark. We held our nerve the best in the shoot out, and Jordan Jack made two fine saves to send us to the 3rd Round for the first time. Drawn away to Ebbsfleet for our first foray into Round 3 Two all on the head to head record, although we won our most recent meeting 6-0 in our run to the League Two title last season. Punch
I found this little article interesting. Pat Clarke left us, wanting to play in a higher division than we could achieve. In the mean time, we have been promoted twice, and Oldham have been relegated, so we now play the division above them. He can't get a game for them, and spent last season on loan in the National League with Forrest Green Rovers, and now they have put him on loan again. Always interesting to see how careers turn out at bigger clubs in higher divisions.
Punch
AUG 2030 - Match Day 5 In front of another sell out at the currently reduced capacity Bowl, we done just enough to take the 3 points over Crewe. Jordan Jack was immense in goal racking up 8 saves on his way to a clean sheet, behind a well performed defensive line. Brian McCarthy got the winner, while Jordan Williams, still playing well, just not able to get the ball in the net in the League. Back to back wins takes us to 5th place. Up next...it's Pizza Cup time as we kick off the PJT against Newcastle U23s. The kids will be playing again. Edited January 12, 2022 by Punch
Punch
AUG 2030 A great start to our debut in League One as we take three wins, a draw and a loss out of the first month. The analyst shows we are above average in defence, but wasteful in attack. Maybe trying too hard. We find ourselves in 5th place after the first month. Huddersfield look like they might stroll away with this League, while it looks like it could be a long season for some at the other end. A quick look at the stats highlights Jordan Williams issues in front of goal, with an xG of 5.6, but only 3 goals. But looking at the rest of his stats, he is playing pretty well, winning headers, plenty of key passes, just not the execution in front of goal. Richard Paterson has 19 key passes, but only one assist, and our Goalkeeper has the third most key passes. These stats get more bonkers the more I look at them Goal Scoring Goalkeeper Only Jordan Jack has played so far, and his performances justify that decision. I'd love to see the FM22 stats showing his saves Vs xSaves, I think it would be pretty good reading. Just the one goal this month as he buries his first chance of the season. Moves him up to 89 career goals. A big month in Gate Receipts, helped by the Leeds game, still isn't enough to cover our expenses completely, but pretty close. We smashed our season ticket record with over 500 more than last season. We kick off the month with the kids playing in the Pizza Cup, then 4 league games, 3 of which are at home, mixed in with our first crack at the Beer Cup 3rd Round. Punch
SEP 2030 - Papa Johns Trophy Game 1 The kids put in a brilliant performance to get the points against Newcastle U23s, Luke Rudd scoring a great double. Foggarty smashed home his first penalty of the season to secure the win. Crewe won the other game on penalties. We lead the table as the only outright winner. Up next...a small break for international fixtures before we return to League action against Southend.
