Going g Th o be interesting to see what impact the group of players in Sweden will have on the national team, especially considering how the league has done in Europe lately driven the coefficient of the Swedish league into the top 10 leagues. Jimbokav1971
Sep 2060. Allsvenskan. It might only have been 3 league games this month, but it's also 3 wins that sees us 10 points clear with 5 games to play but with 2 games in hand on our closest challengers BK Häcken. They can only reach 59 pts though so we are no longer competing against them, and it's our old rivals IFK Göteborg who have played the same number of games as us and could reach 63 pts from their remaining 5 games, who are the reason we have not already been crowned Champions. We've lost 3 and drawn 3 more this season so we haven't been amazing. What has helped us though is that the chasing pack have all taken points off eachother on a regular basis. This looks like the standard behind us is poor but actually it's the opposite. The standard behind us is very good and they are all taking points off eachother. We benefit from having a bigger squad and while the rotation hasn't worked well in Europe because of the age of our players, we are starting to get to the stage where it is working. Champions League. Well this was a bit of a surprise. I big win against Dortmund who are part of the establishment, and then a win against our old club AC Oulu who are very much part of the new order. If we turn over Man Utd I'll really start to believe. Scandi Royal League. I wouldn't say we are firing on all cylinders at this level yet, but we are certainly moving in the right direction. It will be really interesting. This is the current Swedish National squad and you will see it contains 6 of our players. Frustratingly though, not a single 1 of them is a product of our Academy, even if quite a few of them are classed as HG at club. We've currently got 9 players at the club with 5,0 PA and 3 of them are [proper products of our Academy via the Intake. 1 of those is CHI/FIN though, but we also have Tom Grace (ENG) * who has been tearing it up while out on loan this season and who will absolutely NOT being going out on loan next season. He's scored 15 league goals in 15(7) appearances for Djurgårdens IF so far this season. His physical ability is exactly what I like, even if his technical ability might be somewhat lacking. England haven't even capped him at U21 level so he might be willing to be swayed to play for Sweden. I would like to see more 5.0 players on this list that are products of our Academy, but until we top the reputation list we are always going to play 1nd fiddle to IFK Göteborg. I'm hoping that we will overhaul them this season and then we can start a new period of dominance.
Sonic Youth
Tom looks awesome, and work on first touch, finishing and technique would be a real handful!

Yeah, I'm going to use him in rotation with Stahre * next season. He's not as clinical but I'm hoping that his sheer physicality will cause the opposition problems. I dropped Stahre * last season in favour of Big Wilhelm 6'7", (largely because he's a lefty), but it didn't work and in hindsight it didn't work because Big Wilhelm 6'7" is very much a DLF rather than an AF or a P. It was a stupid decision. I've mentioned previously that Stahre * is a bit of an enigma. There has been very little interest in him all the way through the save and he has scored with ridiculous regularity, and even 3 in 9 for the National side. He looks like a rubbish Jamie Vardy to me, (and I mean that as a huge compliment). I also think that his PPM's particularly work with him, and obviously the role/duty I use him on and the general set-up of the team just helps him. He's the closest thing to a "cheat" player I have seen in a while because if he is any better then you would start to expect him to perform at this level. I can't remember signing him, but although we "only" paid £600,000 for him in 2052, I would say that it was a lot of money for this club at that point in the save. Tom Grace (ENG) * has gone under the radar a little after a modest £950,000 signing fee. 2 successful loan periods and 1 not so successful, but he's suddenly valued at £8.75M and looking like he is more than capable of playing a significant role for us. He obviously has a good personality and appears to be the English/Swedish reincarnation of FM's Orri Freyr Oskarsson, (google him if you don't know), with such physical prowess. It remains to be seen how clinical he will be for us, but 23 goals in 22(7) appearances for Djurgårdens IF, (playing as a CF I might add), suggest that he is plenty good enough. I think what happened with Big Wilhelm 6'7" last season is that I signed him and really liked him so wanted to play him, but then I also signed Eric Streifert * and wanted to play him too. I think both are suited to playing as FLF rather than P/AF and I think I was too easily swayed by Big Wilhelm 6'7" being a lefty and just sort of assumed he could slot in there on the left with Eric Streifert * on the right. I know that people often like a lefty playing on the right and vice versa, but I just don't and I think that's what has caused me problems. The reality is that both Big Wilhelm 6'7" and Eric Streifert * should be considered as DLF's, (who pay on the right), and that Stahre * and someone else, looking like Tom Grace (ENG) * for example, playing on the left. I sometimes forget that Eric Streifert * is so young and as such I shouldn't really expect him to perform so consistently. He's still a teenager and is still developing and I need to remember that. I know he's a little raw and maybe sticking the ball in the net isn't actually his forte, but I think he will fill the DLP role really well. I really like him. We paid £2.5M for him and that was a lot of money at the time, but I really have faith that he will develop significantly over the next couple of seasons. I really use Ivan Rasmussen in both roles and it seems to work ok. He's clinical enough to play on the left and isn't as one-footed as some of the others, (albeit he's lacking a little pace), but he's also able to play on the right in the deeper role to reasonable effect. I haven't really given (53a) Söderberg * much of a chance and that's to my shame as he's a product of our Academy. I sent him out on loan this season but was forced to recall him when he wasn't played often enough. I really need to ensure that wherever he plays next season, he plays regularly. This is another striker who has slipped under the radar. (59h) Gustav Eriksson was only the 8th highest ranked player in his intake by PA, but he's looking pretty decent and and his PA is currently showing as 4.5 PA now compared to 3.0 PA when he initially came through. This is my latest regular reminder DON'T BELIEVE THE INITIAL PA RATINGS ON YOUTH INTAKE DAY!
Sonic Youth
Interesting bunch of strikers you got around the club. Gustav looks particularly interesting for a season or two or threes time, and possibly another alternative on the right if the current incumbents don’t meet expectations.
OlivierL
Why are u using a * to nickname some of them ? In my GIB save i added notes to the players that are homegrown (just to know quickly if i have 5 homegrown players in the starting eleven ). And i nickname the youth intake players and poached players. I signed a few regens on my save, don't know if i have to tag them with something (in the future it will all be regens that i have to steal from other GIB clubs).
Thebaker
Did Eriksson have a poor personality as it looks to me like staff tend to rate them lower if they do. I now sign all the youth players to see if they do change although so far none have changed up by more than 0.5 stars.

A * for my players means that the player has high PA and should be given preferential treatment over other players, (who might have better CA). It also might mean that I just like the player for some reason. It means that they are special.

Jimbokav1971
Oct 2060. Allsvenskan. We stumbled a little getting over the line at the end, but we did so without losing. Stahre * gave ma a little reminder that he doesn't plan on being replaced easily as he scored 8 goals in 4 games. Champions League. I picked a weakened squad to make sure we finished the job in the league and Utd took advantage and handed us a spanking. Scandi Royal League. Our improvement at this level continues. Jimbokav1971
Nov 2060. Allsvenskan. We had already won the league so I wasn't hugely concerned that we didn't win, but obviously was keen to extend our unbeaten run in the league which now stands at 16 games. I would love to say that an unbeaten domestic season is on the cards, but I don't think we are even close yet. Champions League. I was keen to show Man Utd that the last result was simply a one-off driven by our rotated squad selection, so went with a full strength side this time around. Yep, that told em! Transfers. I've managed to sign a couple of Icelandic 16 year olds, but neither one of them are exactly what I was looking for and they are little more than punts in the dark, (albeit with a little light). RoguPL
As always amazing job!. You are already 40 seasons in, that's insane I wonder how other teams you managed have been doing. Maybe except Oulu as , as we know they are dominating their league.

You are already 40 seasons in, that's insane I wonder how other teams you managed have been doing. Maybe except Oulu as , as we know they are dominating their league. I had 12 seasons at MB in Faroe Islands and took them from the 4th Tier to the Top Tier. The highest I ever finished with them was 6th. I've been gone a long time though and now they are a yo-yo club between the Top and 2nd tiers. After I left they finished 5th in 2033 and 4th in 2034, but have never finished higher. We then had 3 seasons at Afturelding in Iceland and won the Icelandic First Division and kept them in the Icelandic top tier the following season. They have spent their time equally between Top and 2nd Tier, (with season in the 3rd Tier), since I left. I didn't really stay with them long enough to change their fortunes significantly. We then had 3 seasons at Stjarnan in Iceland where we won a whopping 9 trophies in 3 years, including a double quadruple. After winning 3 titles on the bounce when I was there, Stjarnan followed it up with 8 more consecutive league titles, before the league became more competitive again and they have finished 1st-5th over the next 15 or so seasons. From there we moved to AC Oulu in Finland and although it took us 5 seasons t win a trophy, and 9 seasons to win the league, when we did eventually get there we won 4 league titles in a row and really became the dominant force in Finnish football with fantastic Facilities and a production line pumping out good quality youngsters. I then took over at HJK in Finland and the only reason I was there was to try and win the Final of the Euro Conference. Unfortunately we didn't win it and I immediately moved on again. They have won the league title twice since I left, (including a very impressive last season), and have never finished lower than 2nd since I left. Sonic Youth
Nice start to the league. Getting better against the better Champs League sides, though possibly need a tighter strategy away from home, maybe? Maxed out capacity stadium crowds already? Time to ask the board for a new one! That’s the quietest transfer window I can ever remember you having in all of your stories I’ve read. Jimbokav1971
Apologies for my absence. I've finally got my laptop back after more than a month waiting for it to be repaired. I will be honest and admit that for most of it I barely missed FM at all. With Euro2020 now in full swing though, and especially the Eriksen incident, I have been itching to play FM but decided against going back to my old laptop. Well the laptop is back, although it's possible it's a completely new one, (I can't tell), so the save is dead I'm afraid. I will have a look at my last save to the cloud, but I don't think I did that very often. I'm tempted to do something Eriksen related... will have to see.
