I think that generally the highest placed team gets Home Games the rest except there is usually a random away game.

That might be misremembering my Viktoria Plzen Save from FM19.

Czech League is fun...if your team is good!

Really enjoying the league. I actually enjoy the spilt as well throws up some tasty encounters. It’s also good the fact you have the two Prague giants to break!

The Race Is On

df0160321fb345186fdc016f23824a21.png

This is it! the Fixtures have been slightly more kind to Banik Ostrava with the Prague derby being Sparta's first game. With the right set of results it could all be over in a blink of an eye. Banik have been on a immense run and are favourites with there 8 point lead, But Sparta have been here many times before and know what is required.

"I have told the boys they have earned there place here but its key to remain focused on the job in hand we cant take anything for granted at such a late stage"

  36ae98fa0bcebf36612200c1c3003e3d.png

The first set of results set in motion a massive title decider at the Mestsky Stadion . Stevanovic played hero and villain scoring the winner at Jablonec before being sent off which sees him miss the big game. Shame as he has come into form when Zugelj and Granecny have dipped. Slavia demolished Sparta to deal there rivals titles hopes a massive blow.

The fans are ready will they see there team lift its first top title in 17 years, there certainly not going to take the chance and miss it.

One point settles it, All of the Czech republic will be tuning in for this one.

Its there they have done it!!!!

The 17 year wait is over. They lost there stadium were relegated but now Banik are back in the big time!

3da7c14fb7a0f0f93b45a8bc32aaa4cf.png

It wasn't the spectacular game everyone wanted but David Holoubek and his men have lifted the title and against his former home. Sparta offered very little in attack only 3 shots at goal. Banik dominated but couldn't get the ball in the net but got there point they needed. It does bring to an end there insane winning streak but am not sure anyone cares!

The praise is directed at there fearless leader. His attacking pressing football has delivered back to back trophies in his first two seasons but as a modest man he had this to say.

"Most importantly this is for the fans there love for the club has never been in doubt, And its been delivered to them from not only me, my players and backroom team but from everyone at the club from the chairman, to the tea lady without everyone's hard work this would never be possible so thank all of them not just me"

"Championees championees ole ole ole"

Holoubek in two seasons has turned around his senior management career and catapulted himself into the Czech hall of fame and at only 40 years of age he will fancy his chances of rising hirer.

The rest of the league games youth players were given some time to shine. Petr kotrba took his chance and netted on his full debut against Slavia. a point was a great result. Then Sigma were caught out by a late super sub as Klobasa notched a late winner. The last game of the season well....

The top team came back in for the title party and smashed Plzen aside! The party commenced and the people of Banik Ostrava celebrated like there was no tomorrow. Jan the man was subbed to receive his standing ovation for his fantastic service to the club what a way to go.

The change to pressing forward paid dividends. Both players fought like cat and mouse for that number 9 jersey and just egged each other on and ended up scoring over 30 goals between them.

Stronati was a rock this year. Karafiat is more easy on the eye were as Stronati is the superb defender. A john terry type for the side.

And last but not least our trusty anchor-man with the highest pass completion in the league. Only that one assists but 44 key passes not something you associate with the teams water carrier.

e85273a96d6a5d5a4a4415450330919d.png

Look at the wide men! 20 goals and 12 assists for Granecny, 15 goals and 13 assists for Zugelj sublime seasons from the pair of them. Hruby with 17 assists he just pulls teams apart with his passing. The strikers bagging 18 goals each is a brilliant return!

Cant argue with the decisions. Hruby was unplayable along with Granecny and Zugelj. I feel the freekick is an easy option we scored far better team goals and probably a few that were more spectacular than this.

95b0432283c8f6912ba8bebdc0c56bce.png

The board are ecstatic with the teams performance over the course of the season! Smashing long term targets well ahead of schedule.

A record breaking season with a league and cup double. Playing high pressing attacking football is superb. Achieving all sorts of targets years in advance of when they were expected all while running a positive cash flow with the transfer budgets and wage and bleeding youth. In terms of my FM seasons it right up there with some of my best in terms of this early. and best of all am really enjoying it. Taking in every game and so tactically focused it has the potential to become my favourite ever saves challenging the likes of my Heerenveen, or Aalesund files of top spots.

A look to the future

  • Challenge for the league is a must we need to make it a big 4 not 3
  • Qualify for the group stages in europe either UCL or UEL will be happy
  • Bleed more Youngsters the league doesnt give us much money so we need youth
  • Play even more wonderful attacking football

Well done Mate! Nice title win. Now, to the European adventure hahaha

Did you keep there same 3 tactics from before the patch?

Thanks mate yes that’s next on the list.

yes the exact same tactics mate. I did notice some big changes tho. I had to start the games with the more conservative tactic more than I did before the patch. The last game against plzen I went back to my middle tactic from the offset and blew them away. I need to watch start of the season and see if I need to tweak more. very little one on ones from my threw balls now which is sad as I got loads of goals from that. And my wide players went abit stale but think that was form related as the two players that came in done well. Who know see what next season brings. Plzen game gave me a lot of hope that I don’t have to change much or abandon them

Great stuff! Congratulations on the title victory - well deserved.

Some of those awards are a joke though :herman:

Be interesting to see how you now strengthen over the summer

Thanks man!! The budget isn’t there for Major strengthen And i don’t want to sell anyone unless it’s for major money so will probably promote youth players and go for it

Also can I get a screenshot of your playmaker. He seems immense

thanks mate glad we never collapsed like first season. Yeah I’ll send you one when am back on. He is unbelievable for this level. Problem is he has no work rate but because we have so many hard workers around him it goes unnoticed and to be fair for someone with 4 work rate he does his bit. In the OP or first couple of posts I talked about him and baros being luxury Players in Holoubeks system. How we use the pressing forward so he is purely the only luxury player everyone else is expected to work tirelessly to get the ball back.

I totally changed my approach, working well so far.

Did you make it through the Champions League playoffs?

Not that far yet. Only played two league games. should have an update out next few days.

I think my more reserved tactic  the one I call blast will need altered completely as it depended on sitting deep and lots of through balls  and they seem to be pretty much no extent now

Pre season on the whole went very well for David Holoubek prepares his men to retain the title while trying to secure European football. Pick of the results is of course the 1-0 win against man united.

League.thumb.jpg.453992617f09eeefea5b4040441e8226.jpg

Opening Day

a98f31abf1b47ba8a775e1f4fb039818.png

David Holoubek and Banik Ostrava start of there title defence in there own usual style by smashing six past FC Slovacko on the opening day!

a6981bea5e84b0a7bf3038cdcb2f1d67.png

The rest of July wasn't as convincing three draws, Albeit tough opponents especially Plzen and Jablonec. Not the start Holoubek would have envisaged after a solid pre season campaign and opening day.

d84dbcb420d8b161af0ba167032ab248.gif

The opener against Jablonec however brought some joy to an indifferent start. Look at the pass from Hruby and finish from Stevanovic poetry in motion.

3a45631ce94e4abedb547e452040ebf0.png

The draw was made and Banik Ostrava will face either Slovan Bratislava or Red Star Belgrade, A nice all eastern European tie. David Holoubek was present at the first leg in Belgrade as Bratislava take control of the tie as they beat the last eastern European team to lift the Trophy 2-1.

456919f79c7d3cecade266a2c5e66ecf.png

Its like being back in the good old days of Czechoslovakia. The Czech champs versus the Slovakian champs. Interesting contest certainly not the worst draw at this stage.

d2783c3397d7ca1ae7595710f8226c1b.png

Superb first leg lead three away goals will do nicely . Banik were simply to hot to handle for Bratislava.

c6cf9e72a29e3791774509c559411c1f.png

Could have been ten goals in it. Had it not been for the goalkeeping heroics of Greif a fine display from him. Keeping his sides slim chances of proceeding alive.

194d7356060dd617f46f4f3a56a65c65.png

Similar story in the second leg as holoubek men confirm there name is in the hat from the draw tomorrow. First big step taken to provide European football at the Mestsky Stadion this season.

7a619d373d3a99ee2547b105d3ecdbf3.png

A reasonable draw as the Greek champions are thrown up. Banik avoiding the likes of Celtic, Galatasary and Dinamo Zagreb which was a result. Although Holoubek wont underestimate the Greek side as they must have something about them to win the last 3 Greek titles against the Olympiacos and Panathinaikos of this world.

6a29f5db22e3f4e2e2900c132bedba96.png

Banik well and truly in the driving seat what a result away from home!

397b09ce7cf0485a8339ba34aa07e2e6.jpg

A very cagey opening half hour from both sides as they felt each other out. A penalty smashed home by Tecl and late first half strike from Pavlovic after a scramble in the box gave Banik control. Tecl rounded off a stellar away performance by netting again.

a06fa87f99d9ec19c94b8e52049cdf94.png

There we have it!! Champions league football in Ostrava! Another tight cagey affair with a late goal winning it. Over the two legs Holoubek's side was definitely better but 5-1 is flattering as PAOK did have spells in both games were they looked capable of causing problems.

748f614190a352fd54257cda18a229ce.png

Well its a tough one, But to be expected when dinning at the top table. Leverkusen are Bundesliga champions, Chelsea are leading the EPL this season and Shakhtar are group stage regulars. Big ask to even finish 3rd here.

Show Me The Money!

The champions league money will fund the club nicely for a good few seasons. The balance sits at 11 million after being a million in the red. The board also invests the money straight back into the club with some youth upgrades to prolong the clubs future, continuing with its drive promote youth players policy. We also spent some cash on a much needed senior goalkeeper.

b44140310d85317b430146b60d4ee0ac.png

Had been tracking Greif since the second season and his performances in the UCL just verified he was the man to replace Jan long term. Jan the man decided to stay on a year but it was time to act. Ciz and Zelenka aren't ready to step up yet. Both have been sent on loan for first team experience. Ciz attributes wise isn't far away but still needs work as a sweeper keeper. Zelenka is still a kid even though he performed admirably when called upon.

Greif has it all really at this level. a solid keeper who is classy with his feet as well. Agility is of concern but at 6'6 we can let it go. One on ones is the biggest stress but that will be our focus of work in training. 24 is still young for a keeper so happy with the buy. This was the only business of the window as well.

Czech champs up against the 3rd league champs who were just promoted. Interesting cup tie, always a tricky one when there could be a giant killing on the cards.

5d924a2f811f93bcb5d542f96aca3d9e.png

In amongst the champions league qualifiers Banik made it 34 league games without defeat. A 2-2 draw at home to Slavia before traveling to Prague to beat Dukla convincingly with the squad players as the first team was rested for PAOK. A decent draw against Mlada Boleslav who have started well before a nice solid away win at Teplice!

All Good Things Must Come To An End

cb5961fdcca9d175e9ea7a577a718555.png

Well there we have it. David Holoubek's Banik Ostrava side are Human after all. A truly remarkable fun of results.

"Shame to be out done by a late winner and totally against the run of play. Sheer domination but as they say that's football"

The reaction wasn't to clever either as the following game finished 1-0 to high flying local rivals MFK Karvina. It  was after playing Shakhtar midweek. Holoubek has came out in the press questioning if his side is capable of handling the demands of UCL and a title challenge. Time well tell.

384169f69af031ce438985ecb4709222.png

The league table looks bleak at this early stage. Banik are 12 points of the pace as the demand of European football takes it toll. The defeat to Dynamo is a very sore one to take MFK Karvina are playing well and a European hangover was there for all to see. But Holoubek will need to address things or it could be a long hard season at this rate. They did however start In similar vain last season.

Return Of The Banik

1957968950_Championsleague.thumb.jpg.54324c0decfd1e56bc2f5b37eebd2f7a.jpg

Banik once reached the quarter finals of this prestigious trophy back in 1980/81 were the great Bayern Munich knocked them out 6-2 on aggregate. Since then they haven't Qualifed for the tournament only going close in 2004/2005 as they reached the 3rd qualifying stage. This is the return.

42c20d7ef4bb5df3b25dad95e94dc684.png

A rude awakening for Holoubek. As he sees his side slapped 3-0 on there return. 2 early goals left them chasing the game and a late goal cemented a miserable return to the tournament. This would have been one of the games he targeted for a win and its went all very wrong.

Things are a bit shaky in Ostrava. Holoubek has work to do.

  • Great to have qualified for UCL Money wise its massive, but not sure the squad is ready
  • League form has suffered as a result of UCL, but league now needs to become priority now 12 points is a big ask but can be done
  • A tactical shake up is needed. Between the Ai working us out and The new match engine I don't see as much of the great football we were playing.
  • need a more solid shape for Europe, Not to panic and scrap all our ideas or principles but defo need tweaking

Thanks as always for reading the next post may well take more time as I work on the tactics, which in turn may lead to a tactical update on its own. I have the day off Sunday and plan to get my teeth stuck into it then.

Struggling to keep my interest in this save now! The ME update has completely killed our tactics and we now lack that identity. Tried tweaking certain things but the old style and goals are gone. Going to have one more go at it tomorrow on my day off and if I not I may have to move to pastures new. Which is a shame really. As I was enjoying it immensely up until the update. We’ve still had a okay season. Champions league football top 4 in the league. But it’s the fact am not seeing what I want on the pitch that is killing me.

d540eec0afe31bd7eb6e97c37e74b7ad.png

Undefeated it 9 games since we lost back to back games after finally being beaten. Its not the worst form by any imagination. Also considering we had tough champions league group games its good form. Big win against Sparta is then followed up by two really poor draws.

A very rude awakening to champions league football with the big boys. hammered every game bar one. But again this is my frustration a team that was free scoring at will last season is now incapable of even getting a single goal. Granted there's a gulf in class but if anything the fact we would be up against it suited our tactics in the way that we used to exploit the space in behind our opponents with our front 3.

A very brief update sorry it lacks my usual content and story to it. I have just updated to keep everyone in the picture to what's going on in the save. Like I said its not a terrible season in fact its probably to be expected after a wonder season last year and champions league football added to the schedule but my main issue is since the ME change I cant for the life of me get my team back playing the way we were. A understand the AI would have worked some stuff out but even with logical tactical tweaks I cant get the kind of football we were playing going again. Am going to have one more tactical tweak use the winter break friendly's to test then finish the season but if I cant spark up my enjoyment again it may be time to move on.

Does your AP and or other players have Killer through Balls PPM? My AP (playing as an MCL-AP in a 3-1-4-2) set a League Record With Assists with 18 in a season. Most of them were through balls. Also needs takes Risky Passes PI.

I think PPM's are going to be more important going forward along with PI's.....

My biggest gripe with ME is "Supermen Goalies" especially when playing against Relegation Fodder.

Hope you refind your love of the team. This has been a great SAVE up to this point.

Hruby has all the traits and to be fair he’s still the assist king and the highest average rating. It’s more my wide players and forward aren’t making those deadly runs. But.....

well guys I don’t want to over step the Mark. But after my last tweak things look a lot more like they did and after I finished playing Yesterday I’ve no stopped thinking about getting back on. So the early signs suggest we are back in it!

You couldn’t be more right. I’ve managed to get the football we were playing back. And it’s even more enjoyable than it was before. Will have an update out tomorrow should have season finished tonight/tomorrow

Thanks everyone for sticking by this and keeping me going. The attacking football is back so we go on. ME update may have effected the tactics but feel I’ve sorted them. The load of UCL games an probably the AI working us out combined with ME change destroyed our style of play but I feel now we are getting the same football as before after some changes to roles etc the through balls are back the wingers are scoring again.

Winter Break

900250e7e78a52829385c41847cb22dd.png

We had a very extensive winter break as we tested some tactical tweaks. I didn't want to scrap most of the tactical base. But we removed a lot of the TI's and changed to attacking. We now play with standard LOD and LOE on the attacking mentality. stripping back some overkill instructions. We only now use TI's that really identify our style on top of being attacking. such as pass into space for the through balls, Play out of defence to make sure we aren't smashing it long counter and counter press and more urgent pressing and prevent short distribution and get stuck in to achieve the press.

6bd9abf68382c764942a1e792fd7380d.png

Now looking like this, When teams sit deep the PF becomes a DLF to try draw the centre backs out.

9103676b819a09c4feafb434856b2523.png

The more patient approach for when teams really sit deep sees Inverted wing backs deployed. as we look to change our attacking shape to a 2-3-5 and overload the parked bus in defence with the DLF dropping to leave the RMD space and the winger and mezzala Stretching the game on the left again to give the RMD space and the AP sitting waiting to play that killer ball.

League.thumb.jpg.89776ab62b2a1636f7481aef016cc7ab.jpg

With the Champions League campaign coming to an end at the group stages and being knocked out the Pohar Ceske Posty there was only league business to attended to, from now until the end of the season. We return from the winter break with 11 games left to play before the league splits. Sitting in 4th place we still have a chance of catching second but Slavia are running away with top spot.

1eb63b6e66e3c613f6b351092a36fb12.png

February looks like a very tricky month to kick off. Two massive away days at Slavia and Mlada Boleslav.

acd86abc95b19fc712f406a3c5d3c550.png

Good solid point in the capital. followed the 3-0 demolition of Dukla. What was so good about this point for David holoubek's men was the level of chance creation, they carried a real threat against the runaway league leaders. It was the first signs of a real turning point.

0f9e5d6b188f1ad785853330b23ebd0a.png

Mlada feel the wrath of Banik's new found confidence as there hit for three on there own ground the attacking prowess is starting to return. Teplice survived a real hammering thanks to the goalkeeper who saved an unbelievable 20 shots.

4e19385db151c235bb3fd57abd4923df.png

Dynamo are hammered 3-0 to avenge them putting an end to Holoubek's unbeaten run earlier in the season and MFK Karvina who also beat Banik earlier in the league are now defeated as Banik make it 15 unbeaten.

56860e36477a5e99040092490cf5a975.png

The win comes at a price as leading goalscorer Tecl is now out for 3 months after a heavy challenge. The wide men have started to get among the goals again but they will really need to lift it now. Klobasa hasn't had much of a chance with Tecl being in form.

5d147fb8bfd49dd191f6e78c84f69e79.png

Zugelj instantly steps up to the mantle with two goals in the next game. Klobasa also shows he is a capable replacement notching on his first start in the league.

One Big Giant Step

c03fe920fcd781d57c5dc55b6b93c90f.png

A truly remarkable performance against Sparta at the Mestsky Stadion. There goalkeeper kept it from being a cricket score. Both Granecny and Zugelj are on the scoresheet together for the first time in a long time. They have started to find the form that made them so formidable last season.

 b4e338a1052b998f67701b4ce8e2308e.png

David Holoubek really has Banik back playing like we are so used under him. 6 wins from 6 and scoring 14 goals in the process.

cf3b80b4af495c76cb69159869f41607.png

A 0-0 draw however in Prague at Bohemians costs the winning streak but bouncing back instantly with 3-0 and 2-0 wins against Pribram and local rivals Opava takes Banik it nice form going into the championship group.

b728df0ff12db15b94231fe163526fee.png

The final table before the split. Slavia have more or less won the league, not quite mathematically yet but it would take a miracle to catch them. So It looks like we will be battling Sparta for that last Champions League slot. 2nd highest scores at this point of the season and we have conceded the least. But we are miles off our goals scored compared to last season but there is time to catch it.

1749280e33dc1c0caa74f2272ff928c4.png

Yet again we get the Prague pair back to back in the champions group 3 out of 3 seasons. I sense some bias!

The Turning Point

e4dbe4cb1946a8529fb2ca2e2f888f9d.png

A sensational run of form after the final tactical tweaks. I did state before that we were still doing okay results wise but I wasn't seeing the football on the park that we were trying to achieve. Our wide men stopped scoring, There was a lack of penetrating passes and we lacked clear cut chances. Now I feel we have sorted that I have some examples below.

849169fef1fe5ec60f98e6bbbde102f9.gif

First we win the ball back from there keepers kick we quickly progress the ball through the BPD into the IF before the WB is played in. The IF loses the ball but The AP acts quick to intercept and with one ball the IF is in behind and cut backs for the PF the exact type of goal we want to see fantastic turnover and passing move. Beautiful counter pressing with quick tempo penetrating passing. And a steady build up on the overloaded side.

f33f5f2b6911eef4818f40234104bd6c.gif

The AP recycles the clearance high up the park using the HB who looks for the BWM who plays the IF the Ball Thus overloading the right half space which draws the opposing left back narrow. He then lays it to the HB who again finds him the one two the opens the space for the RWB to get in behind the HB finds him and he cuts back for the PF to finish again. This is more about the patient play and overload rather than the pressing but again exactly what we want to see. Working the ball well and overloading the half space before the wing back is freed up to assist.

27c3d8fd66a58762b3dc93877d733d8a.gif

This time its the left side. LWB picks up the loose ball before lovely interchange between the AP and BWM who sips in the IF to score. Again winning the ball back high up before overloading the half spaces and freeing up someone in behind for the quick penetrating pass. Nice to see it happening on the left side as well. The positional play is nice in this one where the overload works perfectly.

You cant understand how delighted I am to have sorted the tactic and now seeing this sort of football again after the combination of ME update, AI working us out and being committed to champions league football. We now have turned the corner and have our style back.

Club News

be811ed94a2de178c10da4d5938bee10.png

PSG have activated wonderkid Stevanovic's Release clause of 7.5 million although 3.6 will go to Partizan for there clause. but still will bring some decent money to the club. He has been very indifferent since his arrival he is either tremendous or poor. 14 goals from 34 starts is not to shabby for a wide player over a season and a half I suppose.

b16394201b1dcd78a527c5443cf896da.png

David Holoubek was offered the chance to speak to a Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow a huge club in terms of Eastern Europe and a wealth of riches compared to Banik Ostrava.

93c25ae33eeec4c21aadcdc89cd67156.png

However tempting the offer was, Holoubek is committed to the cause In his native Czech republic. As he looks to solidify Banik as a top club domestically and try make an effect in Europe.

Glad to see you work out the tactics. Banik is going places!

After reading your earlier tactics I started using an anchorman as well in 3-1-4-2 DM formation. With my current DM's PPM's he is a more defensive minded Playmaker at times! But mostly recycles the ball like you said which is great against deep defending teams.

I love the role! Especially for the style of playing am trying to create here with Banik! The half back seems to work abit better now than previous version. Which I also like. But the anchorman is still the got to role in the pocket in front of the defence. Especially a 3 man one!

Just caught up with this thread, some great updates. Love the little through ball on that last goal.

KUTGW and the progress! And I am sure a lot more tempting offers will start flowing in now.

BTW, how did Stevanovic get on for you? I have him at Rapid Wien, and even though he is rated a wonderkid and my coaching team rates him highly, he has been extremely disappointing on the pitch. Tried him as an IW on both the AML/R spots, but he just seems too weak and pushed off the ball easily.

Stevanovic seems to be the same for everyone great attributes but very temperamental. I found he was adult better as a central playmaker. Paris have activated his release clause so he’s away end of the season he’s done okay but not as good as you’d expect from a wonder kid

Yes maybe he would be better off there but he isn't dislodging Sergio Gomez for sure. Maybe I should just cash in as well.

A New Breed

A great intake!! A big blessing though is a talented right back as we haven't had one in the youth ranks yet.

534d56f46de834e84343ff3e7718b093.png

Great mental attributes for a 15 year old. May actually be better suited to a centre back role. With his level of intelligence on the pitch. Definitely one for the future.

63f6089b6fc2e0548eef5bcc74ef88d5.png

Verbir becomes another promising striker to join the ranks. could well be shaped into a fierce pressing forward already has the aggression and determination.

7f24e213495ccd9e34874f024c5a206c.png

Another promising striker but doesn't fit the Holoubek blueprint. Although he will still be nurtured as he looks like a real old fashioned number 9

027390fd2b22f1e94f3053c05d4aaeb4.png

Nice left footed centre back been needing one. Even though we have one deal arranged for one in the summer this guy will bolster the youth team and looks again very intelligent.

507f7ed473becde19c0b6ae201c42464.png

Quick winger to join our already vast array of talent. either footed makes things interesting. needs work but has potential to be unlocked

925b07c6757b194fd442f088e4dbf6ae.png

Last but not least a potential long term home grown replacement for the Maestro very similar type of player. Will look to Hruby to bring this kid on!

Short and sweet tonight. Good to get back on and writing. Unlike most people this dreadful virus hasn't really effected the area of Norway in which I work. So for now am actually working more hours to cover people who have had to return home. I finished the season on Sunday so just need to write it up should be done tomorrow night . Stay safe people

Good to see you back at it.

Great Youth intake. How are you going to train up the youth? Are you hands on or leave it to AI Staff?

The following is how I do youth development. (Homegrown Players)

I generally leave U18 General and Individual training to AI Staff. If a youth player needs special attention I add him to the Reserve team for PPM development or to the First Team to get mentored and ppm development.

Young players under 18 I tend to use the role that trains the most attributes. i.e.: Complete Forward for Strikers and Roaming Playmakers for MC's

18-21 players I tend to train with a specific role that fits my system or a role that I want to try for variation of system either by reserve time playing for PPM development or a Loan for Starting Game time.

21-25 players are in First team training in specific roles and gaining appropriate PPMS for their spot in first team or are sold if they don't make the starting lineup at least 10 times in a season. (According to Ass Man)

After 25 Players are expected to play out their contracts. Star Players are given another Contract at 27-28 to last until they are 32.....

I often end up signing other teams rejects or backups in their teens if I can and fit them into my training pipeline....

Like your style.

To be honest it depends on there level. If I think there is serious potential I get them in the first team set up pretty early training with the top team and mentoring from the player in the same role as I see them playing. I just make them available to play for under 19’s as well. After a season of getting some game time i send them on loan to become first team starter at the league below usually unless they have already became good enough to fulfil there role in first team. Big believer in if your good enough your old enough.

Players that don’t suit the style of play but still look good a develop slight different. I get them out on loan ASAP

in terms of training a give them the role I want them to play I handle all the training  my assistant does very little he has a great job 🤣

@SixPointer: My assistants do more work. Assman and Reserves Head Coach control General Training Schedules...even though I liberally add training periods to their schedules. (Adding Set Piece Sessions before and Team Bonding sessions after matches).

I am much more interested in PPM training and individual training than team training and mostly for players that are ready or almost ready for first team duties.

I also sell any player that is less than 5'9'' tall no matter his attributes....

Messi wouldn't make my team....but Ronaldo would.

Signing only tall players are you sure your not Scottish? That’s a bad trait in our game here. A lot of players don’t make the grade at youth level because there not tall enough which is ridiculous because the best player ever to grace the game isn’t tall. Andy Robertson Scotland captain and one of the best LWB in the world was turned away from Celtic as he was too small.

A huge loss to Sparta penalty turned the game then the sending off just killed all hope. A loss that could prove a lot more significant and come back to bite Banik if they don't recover quickly.

The league season is finished off nicely with a great win on the road. A brace for the rejuvenated Granecny seems him finish the season on double figures again.

I did say the Sparta result was massive. It appears to have cost us our chances of champions league football next season. But there is a twist. I cant understand why.

 751558620655ab5056873a7ff6f15ce1.png

It clearly states in the league sorting rules that League points in the previous stage is the first port of call when sorting. If that was the case we surely stay above Sparta?

Season Summary

06f31a6f3567c257169443ff685963a1.png

Well champions league group stages for the first time was nice achievement but it cost us our early league form. We simply never had the squad to compete on two fronts. The tactical shift half way through proved a great turning point. Finishing 3rd takes the edge of a what would have been a great season. a good season we will settle for.

Thanks as always for everyone following commenting and reading another solid season. I know its going slow work its crazy and as I've always stated I liked to play every game and control almost every detail I hope people are still enjoying it as much as me.

What is Next

  • We need to be looking to win the title this year. Its a must its top priority
  • The Conference league offers a nice chance to shine on the European stage but its not the be all and end all
  • We have money to spend its key we invest it wisely. A few key additions are needed but I also want to bolster the under 19's heavily
  • if we get the right players I may control the under 19's also to help boost the devlopment
  • I would quite like to get the Czech national job as well if it were to come vacant

It’s with a heavy heart that this quest goes to the back of my mind. It’s not exciting enough now. I’m tactically bored. I spent 10 million pound in the summer trying to breath life into my passion for it. Am ten games in second in the league and won all my conference league games. But I just feel like am going through the motions! I won’t delete as my thirst for eastern European football my well return. But it’s now time for a more vibrant and expansive Type of football. On a continent i toyed with towards the end of FM19 and probably got there to late.

Thanks for everyone who has read commented and participated in this save with me. You never know I may return to this as I feel there’s a massive gaping hole for some European success. But we delivered a league title and champions league group stage football so it was fun but time for pastures new as I don’t have that buzz. Am not thinking about the game 24/7 as am just clicking three days. Am not tactically looking for the edge etc
