I have just started my second season, having made the following transfers:

Transfers In – Total £45.4m

Anyukov (DR) – £12.25m

Cacares (DC) – £11.25m

Huntelaar (ST) – £7.5m

Di Maria (AML) – £6m

Acosta (AMR) – £5m

Radoi (DC) – £3.4m

Transfers Out – Total £44.4m

Cuellar – £20m (Real Madrid)

Carew – £7.5m (Newcastle)

Sidwell – £5m (Spurs)

Shorey – £5m (Blackburn)

L. Young – £4.4m (Bolton)

Friedel – £2.5m (West Ham)

Salifou – Free (Rapid Wien)

Routledge – Free (Hibs)

The board accepted a bid of £20m for Marcelo from Chelsea but fortunately he couldn’t agree terms. I also turned down a bid of £40m from Man City for Veloso as he is irreplaceable.

After this flurry of transfer activity my first team squad now looks like this:

GK – Asenjo / Guzan

DR – Anyukov / Torres

DL – Marcelo / Bouma

DC – Radoi / Laursen

DC – Davies / Cacares

MC – Reo-Coker / Camacho

MC – Veloso / Ramires

AMR – Milner / Acosta

AML – Young / Di Maria

ST – Huntelaar / Agbonlahor

ST – Owen / Rossi

I have just beaten Arsenal 3-2 in the Community Shield, with Huntelaar scoring the winner in the 93rd minute, and followed that up with a 2-0 win at Helsingborg in the UEFA Cup qualifying round (Huntelaar scored both).

I’m hopeful of a great season :D

What are the main signings of the 1st season?

My transfer budget didn't increase after I requested it unfortunately... so had £6m.

In

Marcelo 4.4m

Julio Cruz 450k

Emerson loan

Sturridge 3.3m

Ferriera 1.3m

Total 9.5m

Out

4.6m

Unbeaten in pre-season and Euro Vase etc... Just about to play Man City in 1st game of season.

Any suggestions of future buys or players to sell?

veloso, camacho, cardozo, enyeama, hulk and barzagli have all proved really good signings for me.

When it comes to the original team, you can get lots of money for a lot of our players as other posters have shown, so hold out for as much as you can.

from what i have seen you can get 30 million for barry, and 20 for cuellar....others can reach high prices as well.

sell off the deadwood - harewood, knight, petrov, salifou

Should I just wait for bids for players or put prices on them?

Keeping Harewood for now... got rid of Taylor, Knight, Salifou, Osbourne etc

Transfer list them and set their squad status to "not needed".

Then continue for a day and it will then show whether or not there are any other club interested in them. If there are then "offer them to other clubs" for at least double their value and see what offers you get.

Hope this helps.

With ten minutes to go v Arsenal the league leaders i was 4-1 up and then in the 85th minute it was 4-3! The whole of villa park was on the edge of their seats for the last 5 minutes and i managed to run away winners. Agbonlahor scored 2 after i was asked if i agreed with the fans beliefs of him not performing up to standard. i may have just screwed up arsenal's title challend:D

I keep asking for a higher wage budget, and keep getting 100k or so added to it. I've managed to get around an extra £10m-£15m this way :)

In need of a right and left back, near end of first transfer window, because from my games so far, Young and Shorey don't look up to it.

Any suggestions guys?

guys has anyone got Agbonlahor to learn a PPM

I've asked his to learn 'Try to break offside trap' which would be great because of his pace and he said 'he sees no point'

then I asked him to learn 'round the keeper when 1v1' and again he said he sees no point

I don't really get it, because I think these moves would vastly improve his game because these would work well with his pace

Is it just by chance whether he'll learn it or not, or will Agbonlahor always reject these moves?

because there clearly is a point in learning these moves, and I dont get why he's saying there isn't

Hi all. Loved Villa since a kid, loved FM since I was 13 but never got the courage to combine the two. Until now!

I'll be playing a good old-fashioned 4-4-2, with my current first XI being (with my future plans in brackets):

GK: Friedel (really doesn't look the part in this game, I'll give him this season but will definitely bring in a new GK next season)

RB: L.Young (would like to bring a new RB in to rotate with Young. Balletti on loan for the season would fit this bill perfectly)

CB: Cuellar

CB: Laursen

LB: Shorey (need to bring in a LB to cover whilst Bouma is out. Razvan Rat on the transfer list for £2.7m looks the part)

RM: Milner

LM: A.Young

CM (defensive): Petrov (want to bring in a good creative DM to maybe replace Petrov here, as I want to play with my two CM's swapping roles during the game)

CM (attacking): Barry

ST: Carew

ST: Gabby (definitely need to bring in at least one new ST. Not sure who yet though)

I will be selling: Knight, Harewood, Salifou and Reo-Coker. I offered them all out, and have had a £5m offer for Knight, £3.8m & £4.8m for Harewood (hopefully he'll accept the £4.8m contract..), £2m for Salifou and £6.25 for Reo-Coker. If these all go through, I should have a decent budget to play with.

OK, official pre-season transfers:

OUT:

Zat Knight to Middlesbrough for £5m

Marlon Harewood to WBA for £4.8m

Mustapha Salifou to Coventry for £1.9m

Nigel Reo-Coker to Man City for £6.25m

Stiliyan Petrov to Sunderland for £6m

TOTAL - £24m

IN:

Razvan Rat from Shakhtar for £2.7m

Juan Quero from Numancia for £2.9m

Belletti from Chelsea on Loan (£1m initial fee and £5m future fee)

Rafael Carocia from Gremio for £3m

Hulk from Porto for £6m

Petri Pasanen from Werder Bremen for £7.5m

TOTAL - £23m

I'm happy with the squad now. Everyone had a good pre-season (Delfouneso was superb). Only reservation is Friedel, but I'll have to wait till next summer.

VILLASMITH - have you done anything controversial? Like, getting into debt, getting into hot water with the FA, selling big players etc etc?

Contract worries are over now as i just signed a new four year contract. Also just finished 1st season in 4th:D and won UEFA Cup. Has anyone had Agbonlahor score more than 20 goals? he got 27 in all comps for me:D I'm now currently haggling for Ludovic Magnin as he's been outstanding and have signed Dorin Goian off relegated Bolton for £4.3M and signed Diego Lugano off Fenerbache for free.

Awful. Just awful! 6 games into the Prem season and I've not won once yet, and sitting in 19th with a goal difference of -7. I can't stop gifting teams chances (at least 14 shots on goal against me every game), yet we're having about 8 shots in all at a push. Not happy!

First CL game of the season I drew 1-1 at home v Benfica. I've also been quite active in the transfer market after realising my squad was quite small.

Sidwell-Sunderland-£6M

Stieber(sp)-Bradford-free

Carew-Newcastle-£5M

Petrov-Newcastle-£5M

Reo-Coker-Man City-£10M

McGurk-Oldham-free

Guzan-Villareal-£3.1M

Total-£29.1M

Magnin-Stuttgart-£3.5M

Veloso-Sporting-£21.5M

quite a few defensive players in and a few attacking players out so i'm currently trying to sign Saviola, Ziani and Papadopoulos(sp)

Swarms of people have started to go for Davies, Barry, Cuellar, Milner, Young and Srna. Most have been warned but still getting occasional bids. looking to sell Davies as he is now really unhappy about me rejecting a £9M bid from Man Utd. I had a great starting game of the season in a 4-0 home win against Sheff Utd :D. Just sold Laursen aswell as i didn't want to get rid of a new signing and he was my weakest original villa CB and is getting on now.

Just rejected the Chelsea job. According to the news item that came before the contract offer i am 'known as a bit of a cup specialist' which i guess is a nice way of saying im rubbish in the league.

HAHA! Brilliant. Fair play getting offered a Big-Four job though. You must be confident in your Villa team to reject that.

As my previous save started so disastrously, I turned into a petulant child and started up a new game last night. I've become *that* guy. It has, however, turned out to be a decent decision, as I'm doing much better now.

Transfers In (Total: £18.75m):

Razvan Rat - £2.7m

Lorik Cana - £8m

Hulk - £6m

Belletti - £1m (season long loan)

Robert Lewandowski - £1m

Transfer Out (Total: £17.75m):

Marlon Harewood - £4.8m (West Brom)

Zat Knight - £6m ('Boro)

Stiliyan Petrov - £7m ('Boro) - Nice to see 'Boro continuing their tradition of buying our deadwood :p

7 games into Prem, and I'm in 6th place with 12 points and a GD of +4. Highlights of the Prem season so far include a 3-1 win at Fratton Park, and a 2-0 beating of Man City at Villa Park.

Into the Group Stage of the UEFA cup after a 9-1 aggregate win over Honka in the 1st round, and a 3-1 aggregate win over Sivasspor in the InterToto cup. My group consists of Rosenborg, Udinese, Deportivo and Schalke...so it'll be tough.

Gabby and Carew are top scorers so far, with 6 each in all comps. Hulk is looking set to be a vital part of the season, and Lewandowski will become a legend - search for him. I'll post a screen of him soon.

Me? Nope - started with the usual £6m, asked for an increase which took it to £10m, then sold the players listed in my previous post. I would have spent more on players, but annoyingly I'm not getting the full 100% of profit from transfers out to use to bring people in.

Speaking of which, the board have just given me an extra £10m to use in January, so with that and a bit of budget tweaking, I'm able to buy van der Vaart (who has just accepted his contract). I'll also be getting Landon Donovan in January (for free, and not wanting much in the way of wages... Can't lose).

p.s. Just beat Udinese 3-0 at Villa Park. Excellento.

as i have to start my second season again  how much do you reckon i could get for: 1. Davies (£25M)

2. Laursen (£6M)

3. Petrov (£7.5M)

4. Reo-Coker (£15M)

5. Carew (£7.5M)

6. Sidwell (£8M)

7. Guzan (£5M)

In the brackets is what I think I could hold out for but let me know if you think it's too high or too low as I'm not expecting a big budget this season so the more I get out of these players the better. thanks for any advice

Yes, accept that! Axel Witsel?

Will probably accept and have a look at Witsel. Normally I would accept an offer like that it's just I was wondering whether I could milk a bit more out of Madrid and because Milner had a fantastic season.
