ash181
Was fully expecting to lose to Arsenal who had previously wont the PL three times in a row. I was at home (St. Andrews) and I managed to pull of a 5-3 victory http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z256/ash181/bcfcvarsenal.jpg Could not believe my luck, even my young centre forward scored on his debut . now lets hope the team can springboard off this result and attempt to break into the top
Neji
Nice, try and beat them away now. Took me years to beat them away from home
oroborus
I see Eduardo got injured in the 90th minute; Martin Taylor wasn't playing was he?!
ash181
I see Eduardo got injured in the 90th minute; Martin Taylor wasn't playing was he?! No and I can also confirm it was his cheekbone that was broken and not his ankle
ash181
Whilst I'm online and to avoid creating a whole new thread who is a quality right winger that I can purchase for anything between £7-£15 million pounds, I have just sold Jorge Valdivia for a healthy £10M and I am looking for a replacement of the same quality or even better? peter-evo
Apparently, though hopefully for him he doesn't return against Newcastle, they've got a leg breaker too! I presume you mean Danny Guthrie? I was at the match where Eduardo got injured and the atmosphere completely changed, Taylor was distraught after the game OP: if you scored 5 past arsenal you have a chance in your division
oroborus
Yeah, although to be fair, Danny Guthrie's challenge looked purely malicious. Taylor took quite a beating from the media after that one whereas Danny Guthrie didn't, although that's probably because Folan's leg break wasn't as gruesome as Eduardo's. I rarely beat Arsenal, in fact, I'm lucky to scrape a draw most games as they usually batter me 3 - 5-0.

TomHAVFC
I don't see why your all saying you can't beat Arsenal. I don't find them any harder than any other team.

oroborus
Until they lose Adebayor, Rosicky and Van Persie, I find them virtually unplayable.
backpackant
I find arsenal much harder for the first three years then they are no harder than Liverpool or Chelsea. Adabeyor is a demon. Like Rooney.
outlaw640
Arsenal are pretty hard to beat, in my tottenham save I hate playing them, did win against them in FA cup final though
Wee Aja
They just beat me recently in the UEFA Cup Final 1-0 I am Atletico Madrid. They're a tough cookie to crack. *cost me a juicy treble...
gullee
In my current savegame, Eduardo hasn't had such a great career. Printscreen says it all: http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a342/gullee/?action=view¤t=EduardoCareer.jpg
oroborus
He did well at Celta. Apart from that yeah, not so good.

I actually thought Guthrie got alot of bad press. Rightly so.
gullee
It was an ordinary tackle in that it was not malicious, he was just late; and this is coming from an Arsenal fan.
hammers123
was it folan who broke his leg? I thought it was fagan ? Aaaaah well doesnt matter hehe. Van persie scores past me nearly everytime I play them.
Pope of Pot, King of Nothi
As for the not being able to beat Arsenal... I can't, either! And it sucks because they are a huge rival. Van Persie dismantles me every single time. Frustrating, really...
presumingpete
the only time i've ever beaten arsenal was with palermo in the champions league final. usually they score 4 and i score a number less than that.
Josh_lee
arsenal was overrated and made them really hard to beat... most of the players in the team turn out to be worldclass in 2nd and 3rd season
gullee
wishful thinking: hopefully that happens in real life Arsenal's squad has high PA's. also, in FM08, teams are generally pretty slow to replace aging players even though 8.0.2 changed it so that player quality deteriorates very quickly after 30 or 31. couple these two reasons with the bad regens and Arsenal's very young squad to begin with and you get an Arsenal team that rule the roost for a while.
