Northernpilgrim
Bobson Bawling is one of the best names ever. Yup. He's a good player at this level too

Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten January but we still have plenty to do to get back in the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
We made 3 signings in the January window too

Northernpilgrim
February was pretty awful, and I was called to a meeting to discuss my position and given a 9 points from 5 games target following the Torquay game and the table showing how far we've fallen

sherwinriga
You have just improving from the start until you lose matches. Too bad you lose your chances in the National League here. Who will be the new head coach of Crawley Town?
Northernpilgrim
You have just improving from the start until you lose matches. Too bad you lose your chances in the National League here. Who will be the new head coach of Crawley Town? I know! I can't seem to stop the rot if we lose 2 in a row. Rob Edwards is their new manager
Northernpilgrim
At the end of June I was offered and accepted the chance to take a team back into League
Northernpilgrim
A pretty encouraging set of preseason results and a change of formation. I'm not using any shouts, just reacting to my Ass Man's feedback in-game and the match as it unfolds
Northernpilgrim
A steady if unspectacular start to the season Leaving us just outside the playoffs in the early table
Northernpilgrim
It was also a busy transfer window, which was complicated by the fact I inherited a club that was massively over the wage budget and had lots of expiring contracts that I wasn't allowed to renew
Northernpilgrim
And this is the squad I have taken into the new season

Northernpilgrim
September was also an unbeaten month and we're in the playoff places
Northernpilgrim
I was on the shortlist for Manager of the Month, but only came third.
Northernpilgrim
The unbeaten record went in October, but it was still a decent month that saw me make the Manager of the Month shortlist again, finishing third which was also our league position at the end of the month
Northernpilgrim
November was a pretty good month, except for the reverse against Chester, and we came very close to upsetting my former club Chesterfield, who are back in League 1. I won Manager of the Month and we finished the month top of the table
Northernpilgrim
Not a brilliant December and it looks like we'll have to settle for the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
Not a brilliant January on the pitch, but it could have been worse as we were reduced to 10 men before half time against Gateshead. and we're still second
Northernpilgrim
Nobody left in January, but we did add one new signing

Northernpilgrim
February was a quiet month as the FA Trophy took centre stage after we went out, but we won both our league games and we have at least increased the pressure a little on leaders Wrexham
Northernpilgrim
Come again? I was saying Thank you Nobby (but in Irish) -my manager profile has English and Irish nationality and languages spoken. In truth I actually only have a little Irish, but I'm learning

Northernpilgrim
Enjoying the story so far! I think this has persuaded me to make a Conference save when I get home haha Thanks SamL94. It's a fun save for me, but a word of caution. The Vanarama National is a sod to get out of because of only one automatic promotion spot. I'm going to have to rely on the playoffs, and will probably get fired (again) if I don't get promotion. I'm in March, contract expires in the summer and not a hint of a new one. Northernpilgrim
This year's youth intake isn't spectacular, but has a few players who will go on to play in the first team under a future manager
Northernpilgrim
A mixed March which if it had been even slightly better could have seen us hit top spot
Northernpilgrim
April provided a steady, if unspectacular, end to the season but it was not quite enough to reclaim top spot and clinch promotion
Northernpilgrim
So, after a long season, it's a semi final against Tranmere Rovers. We won the home league game 2-0, but were beaten 3-1 at Prenton Park. With the away leg coming first, it's obvious we'll need a better result than we managed last time. Northernpilgrim
We came up short in the end but what a stunning goal to lose to, even if it was in the 4th minute of stoppage time, when 3 had been indicated [video=youtube_share;lDEgoMS8-_U]
steff91
Looks an interesting thread you have going here mate, not really found myself settled in a save as of yet in the latter stages of FM16 might get something like this setup myself actually - Will be keepoing an eye on this one - Good luck with the rest of your career!!! Thanks steff91. Not sure what the future holds with regard to Northampton. They finally offered me a new contract the day after the playoff final, which I've rejected. I'm definitely not resigning, and will look at other options, but if my contract expires, I hope they don't sack me!

Northernpilgrim
And a steady but unspectacular start to the season leaving us just outside the playoff places that the board are demanding I reach again
Northernpilgrim
And here is the transfer activity I was talking about. It was a busty summer of comings and goings leaving the squad looking like this (mainly due to the wage budget being slashed)
Northernpilgrim
It's a good job the Conference has no restriction on loan players. I wouldn't have a team otherwise. Just gutted that the loan keeper I had last season allowed his contract at his parent club to expire, and wouldn't sign for the pittance the board would allow me to offer him.
Northernpilgrim
I didn't want to let Hewelt or D'Ath leave, but the board wouldn't allow me to even match their existing salaries, let alone the increases they were asking for, so they refused to sign on and left for nothing. It's going to be a really tough ask to even do what we did last season, and I will definitely be off at the end of the season (if the board keep me that long)
Northernpilgrim
September was a bit of an up and down month and that has caused us to drop off the pace a bit, though we're still in the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
On paper October looks like a fabulous month but we were 3-0 up against Alfreton, and the dropped points cost us the chance to end the month on top
