Small club to big club, and managing in a small nation. I have set myself a high reputation as I want to get into international management also. Title Favourites: Llanllyfni Media Prediction for Mountain Rangers: 6th ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Staff Overview Chairman - Lloyd Jones: A locally well known business owner with a passion for football. Manager - offen94: A mysterious character who never reveals his true name. Assistant Manager - Luke Davey: Seems more than capable at this level. Physio - Chris Evans: Wouldn't let him anywhere near one of my broken limbs. Scout - Marc McCarthy: Very well disciplined, but not too good at scouting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Overview Goalkeepers Matty James: Our first choice this season, one of the best in the league. Malcolm White: A nutter with little skill. The less said, the better. Defenders Michael Broughton: Streets ahead of any of my other defenders. Craig Rees: Right back is definitely a weak link with him first choice. Tony Bowen: Broughton's central defensive partner in crime. Stephen Morgan: Same as right back, Morgan is another weak link. Colin Hughes: Versatile defender who should prove as useful cover. Matthew Jones: 3rd choice centre back behing Broughton and Bowen. Midfielders Brian Roberts: Star player and set piece wizard on the right side. Joe Hier: Decent centre-mid, thought his name was Hitler at first glance. John Edwards: Other centre-mid, not as good as Hier. Aaron Edwards: Technically very poor left midfielder. Marcus Jenkins: Versatile but not a particularly good player. Ashley James: Decent cover at right-wing. Andrew Wilkinson: Versatile attack minded player. Forwards Steve Thomas: Supposedly my best striker, but has 2 for Finishing. Good penalty taker. Nathan Morris: 2nd choice striker with high flair. Nicky Pearce: Alright in the air, and has extremely high flair.
B.W.G
Will be following this closely, good luck in Wales
GylfiAsCharged
Thanks, I'm going to do updates more frequently than once per season, but since there are usually only about 2 games per month, it's not worth doing monthly updates. Tony Hawker
Good luck in Wales offen I love the name for some reason, and just googled there history, quite impressive
GylfiAsCharged
I chose them because of their name, and they were exiled too! Just the idea of some rangers being exiled into the mountains, it's brilliant.
Biscotti
Looks good, I shall be following Trying to work out if your comment about your physio was because he's a crap physio, or because of his name?
GylfiAsCharged
Because of him being a crap physio, I didn't notice the name thing until after I posted.
GylfiAsCharged
Preseason Update 2010/11 Fixtures Two good results, we were expected to lose the first, and the in the second we went down to 9 men in the first half with two silly red cards. Transfers Nobody left the club, I wanted to add depth to the side.
Luton Town
could you send me a link of where you downloading this from in a private message

GylfiAsCharged
Terrible news, my best centre-back, Broughton, has injured his hip and will miss 7-8 months, including the entire season. EDIT: And my star striker is out injured for 2 months... could be tough without them.
Luton Town
i started 1 with Cemaes Bay in the Anglesey League only have 14 leage games a season Unlucky about the injurys
B.W.G
You won with 9 men and kept a clean sheet, very impressive!! Good luck in the season Also I have played at this level before but I just hope you don't come across card happy refs as I did, I frequently finished with 9 or 10 men in a match and that was with my tackling on normal!!! GylfiAsCharged
I am having the exact same problem. 4 games, 4 wins, 4 red cards, and 4 long term injuries to key players.
o JaY
I am having the exact same problem. 4 games, 4 wins, 4 red cards, and 4 long term injuries to key players. Unlucky, sounds like a very physical league but at least you've won all your games. KUTGW!
GylfiAsCharged
Finally a game without a sending off, my 6th in charge. Sadly I have drawn and lost in my last two games.
Luton Town
Good start except the last 2 game with Cemaes Bay i haven't seen a red card in the league yet saw a few in friendlies with the opposition going down to 9 men a few times
GylfiAsCharged
I haven't had anyone sent off in 3 games now, but still that's 8 red cards in my 8 games this season.
GylfiAsCharged
[video=youtube;0snpZNRk-dA] A fantastic free-kick seals the win against Penrhyndeudraeth.
GylfiAsCharged
Halfway Update 2010/11 Results League Table Looking great so far, it's not as easy as it looks though, most games have been tough. Injuries and suspensions haven't been kind to us, and I haven't been able to field my preferred line-up in any of the games. The wins against Llanllyfi and Caernarfon Boro were massive, Llanllyfi were favourites to win the league but they are at the wrong end of the table. The league system is a bit funny, alphabetical order takes priority over goal difference, goals scored and head to head. And, the top two teams play in a promotion play-off, so there is no automatic spot.
o JaY
Looks like I jinxed your 100% record but good to see your top by 3 points. The league rules are a bit weird but as long as you stay 3 points ahead you should be good until that play-off thing.
GylfiAsCharged
I'm slightly nervous though, as I know that whichever team comes second, is going to be better than mine, what with the media expecting us to come 6th. It'll be a tough game, that's for sure - of course, I might not even make it!
B.W.G
Doing well so far, hope you can mange it!
Luton Town
Well done on the 1st half of the season. How teams get promoted is weird in wales
GylfiAsCharged
It is, especially how the team that comes first doesn't always get promoted. That's ridiculous. Just dropped a few vital points, luckily the chasing pack dropped even more.
GylfiAsCharged
This is outrageous, I'm apparently 'on the verge of being sacked'. I'm first, and 4 points clear. What the hell?! Just found out why, it's because one of my players left for a pro club, and I had no control over it since he wasn't under contract.
Luton Town
Just found out why, it's because one of my players left for a pro club, and I had no control over it since he wasn't under contract. Yeah i lost a key center defender and midfielder due to that probably cost me atop 2 finish
GylfiAsCharged
Hmm. Maybe it's a glitch:

GylfiAsCharged
I've figured it out - turns out that every manager in the Welsh 6th tier has a job status of 'Precarious'.
GylfiAsCharged
But there's still the playoff, it's not over yet...
B.W.G
Congrats on the title win, got my fingers crossed for the playoffs.
GylfiAsCharged
An enormous blow to my promotion hopes, Neil Vaughan has just left the club. Our top scorer with 16 in 15 games has just walked out on us, just prior to the biggest game of the season.
GylfiAsCharged
Looks like I misunderstood the playoff system, there are 2 rounds. I've been drawn away from home, and there is only one leg, in the semi final. Wish me luck. :/ Wait, I'm even more confused. It looks like the winners of the first round get promoted, and the losers play in final, the winners of which get promoted too. So 3/4 of the teams go up? Luton Town
Well done on winning the league. Unlucky on the player walking out and yeah the Welsh system is rather weird
GylfiAsCharged
Season Review Results Table Play-Off Phew. An exasperating first season in charge which ended in play-off glory! A fantastic conclusion to a fantastic year for Mountain Rangers FC. Next season we will be competing in the Gwynedd league, alongside Felinheli who also got promoted. New faces will need to be brought in if we are to stand a chance next season.
B.W.G
Big congrats on the promotion, good luck in the Gwynedd League, there shouldn't be too much difference between the two levels so with a few key signings you could be challenging.
Luton Town
Congratlations on Promotion but the semi final was held at a ground that holds 11,000 and only 65 turned up.
GylfiAsCharged
Thanks guys, and Luton Town, during the match, the two tier stand that the camera was facing was totally empty, and so was the one on the right hand side.

Luton Town
The biggest problem for me is that i lose all my best players to teams in the Blue Square because i can't pay them anything and then offer them money and there out of here. Where the loyalty? finished my second season and twice ive finished 3rd due to it
GylfiAsCharged
I thought you went to the Gwynedd League So did I, but it appears I didn't. If the system went as it does in real life, I would be, but in-game I'm not.
GylfiAsCharged
just read through all the posts, loving the challenge... has your job security changed? GylfiAsCharged
The biggest problem for me is that i lose all my best players to teams in the Blue Square because i can't pay them anything and then offer them money and there out of here. Where the loyalty? finished my second season and twice ive finished 3rd due to it It's unfortunate, luckily my two best players got poached very late on, when I had already consolidated a place at the top.
