Nobby_McDonald
2031/2 - Lincoln City (League One) It's the scrap to the finish Board: Playoffs Media: 5th Bookies: 25-1 Season tickets: 2983 (up 73) I sign a two year contract extension, giving me three to run, on £1000 per week (up £50). Chairwoman Jane Powell sells the club to 60 year old director Oliver Addison, so it's largely business as usual. We make a good start to the season, some convincing wins puts us in the top three. We maintain the form up to halfway and it looks like six teams will battle it out for promotion. Beating fierce rivals Grimsby Town away in the First Round of the FA Cup was nice... especially as it was 6-2. A slight dip in the New Year before we pick back up and top the table. However, a poor finish sees us clinging on to a promotion spot and with one game to go... Bolton 3 Oxford 1 Cardiff 2 Northampton 1 Fulham 1 Exeter 1 Southend 0 Lincoln 1 Phew! Done it at last! rancer890
Newcastle Town imo. Castel di Sangro sounds like an Italian club. Just curious, since I never heard of that club before, but what miracles would have to perform with them?

Titles above are potential thread titles for any new save Really tough, that one Nobby. In some ways, I'm rooting for you to keep on with this save, as I think you're on the cusp of making it in the big time. I'd also love to see you end up at Stoke City. The Newcastle Town save is also grabbing my attention immediately and I think this could be pretty awesome. HOWEVER, my initial gut feeling was for you to recreate the miracle! Something a bit different, as you've been solely in England in this save. Plus, it's got all of the ingredients for a really great LLM style save. Ideally, I'd like you to do 1, 3 & 4, but I guess that's a bit optimistic. I'm going to say, keep playing on with this save until you get some 'closure' in terms of your career, so maybe until Xmas. Then go for the miracle!

crouchaldinho
Of course... one thing the FM2011 saves are dependant on... is somebody releasing a good quality set up in the lower English/Italian leagues. I think the English leagues will be no problem but, from what I can tell, the edited versions of the lower Italian leagues were a bit of a mess last year. Regionalisation of the leagues didn't work well and they weren't very realistically portrayed in the game, which I know put me off adding Serie D. So it may well be that the miracle will have to wait for another year. Perhaps Uncle Ron will do you another quality English lower league edit, so Newcastle Town could be on. No excuse not to keep on playing the current FM10 save until a good edit comes out though.

Nobby_McDonald
Interesting... exactly the same performance as when I reached the Championship with Northampton Town... and my best player at Lincoln is also the same - a centre midfielder who is solid all round and came through the youth ranks early on (Bradley at Lincoln and Wordsworth at Northampton). Quite a busy close season... Firstly, I sign Wordsworth. It will be very interesting to see how Bradley and Wordsworth do together in the centre of the park. I then sign a contract extension to 2036 on £1700 a week, up from £1000. Then... And finally, Iker Munain's contract is not renewed at Stoke City, who narrowly avoided dropping into League One last season. I know for a fact Crouchy wants me to take the job... but me... I need time to think about it...

Nobby_McDonald
I used to go a few Newcastle Town games, but stopped doing so around three years ago when I started playing golf again. Nobby_McDonald
I've made my decision... I'm staying at Lincoln City. I've made three quality signings over the close season (including Wordsworth) and am very much looking forward to hopefully improving on last season. Stoke meanwhile really struggled last season and will need major changes to haul themselves back up. Besides, I've grown quite attached to my Lincoln side. I've also made another decision... I will try the FM2011 demo. If I think the game has made enough of an improvement/evolution for me to buy the next version, then I will. I will then carry on playing this save until there is at least one official patch released and a solid and reliable lower league package released for at least England and maybe also Italy. If this happens, then I shall also continue this save but in a novel way. I will retire my current manager (ie me), have my 'son' take over and let the game run on holiday mode while I am doing other things, and report back at the end of each season in a fashion similar to what I do now.
