The Official Regional Databases Thread

Well Nine_iron made a regional database of Linconshire and Humberside and since then myself and Arctoa have been working on ones that are a little closer to us. So we decided one of us should make a joint thread.

In this all regional databases will be downloadable and i imagine far more will come from us. Also if you wish to make one and want help we would be willing to give advice. Id like to thank both Nine_iron and Arctoa also for assisting with mine even though its not fully finnished yet.

Databases from both myself and Arctoa is work in progress. Each database also have their own threads.

Also to state when mine and Arctoas databases will not work together as we both use similar regions. His is Northern England and South of Scotland. I have used the former Celtic tribe Votadini's territory which streched from the River Tyne to Stirling.

I'm in the middle of recreating Wessex at the moment so I'm glad this thread has come up.

One problem I've had while running a holiday save is that all the regens seem to have Spanish names . I swapped Wessex for Andorra and changed the language to English and region to UK so I'm puzzled. Any ideas?

Might be an idea to mention that mine is a Northumbrian database.

I'd also recommend that you link to the relevant forum threads rather than the direct downloads as this would save you a lot of effort in keeping up to date with file changes.

I had this problem when I swapped out San Marino in an early version of mine.

(at least in FM09...)

Regen's names will be based on the names of the players of that nationality included in the db. To change this you'd have to delete/change nationality from all Andorrans in the db and add players with English lnames (or whatever) and Wessex nationality to the db. (at least in FM09 was like this )

But this won't change grey players names (grey players will still have spanish names) so you might wanna try other nation

But if you dont need more than 1 nation would be easier to just use Great Britain (both grey players and regens come with english names in FM10) instead of adding other stuff

As I havent been using FM10's editor I dont know what kind of names Yugoslavian regens have when you activate them.. (in previous FMs even Britain's grey players had weird names (serbian, spanish, english, japanese etc...))

ive already used Ziare and it took along time dont fancy changing all it over to GB. Plus with GB there would be the problem of anyone playing within Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland would be eligible for the national team which id rather avoid,

EDIT: just out of curiosity... what kind of names do Zaire's grey players and regens have?

You're probably better off using Pre-1922 Ireland 'cause then you're not interfering with UK second nationalities; additionally, Irish names are more like Scottish ones than the English.

I havent checked the regens and that yet not tried a long term test been doing the short term ones due to the database not being finnished. ill let you know

True point but if you get all the other things sorted a majority of players look past the grey players, they are just a minor sidepoint when it comes to ease of creation of a database, also if you use other nations then there is the possibility of loading up multiple of these regional ones at once! I don't know anyone who has tried it yet but you never know what might work.

My next task is Hampshire, I hope there is a bigger fan base than that of my Lincolnshire one so I really should try and get it as perfect as possible, also learnt a lot of lessons from my Lincs one

I still think it'd be better to link to the regional threads rather than direct download links, it'd stop you needing to update the original post every time a new version of each file is released.

No worries, I've been taking a few days off myself; the damned game has me infuriated 'cause I can't get club logos to load up properly.

ah i see. I havent even started on the graphics yet, alhough i must say the database is pretty much done. the Amatuer leagues are no longer playable and the league system is similar to that of scotland. Scotland will not run alongside not sure why. doing my head in.

Have you replaced every team that you've taken out of the Scottish system with the leagues having the same number of teams?

Yes, thats the thing. It just doesnt want to work. I even replaced all the non-league teams with teams from inactive nations

I will make a lot more regional league but I don't want to make a lot of thread for each release I don't think this is fair for people who have editor problem, would it be ok if I post mine here for now directly?

If some are more important to you please comment and tell me and they wil increase in my priority. I'm strongly considering making more regional leagues in Norway, if I find a way to combine them into one release (will of course also be separate releases).

Well ill plan to make one for two sets of regions for scotland each maybe a tip of scotland on two of them but need to figure out the problems with this one first.

The main thing I'll say is to always replace teams as you go as the game really doesn't like it when you take teams out of even apparently-inactive leagues. Better to do it as you go, too, as trying to work it all out afterwards is a nightmare.

Sorry for time to update guys, staying at parents due to finance problems till new year, just got my pc broguht across last night and didnt realise the adds.

All have been added. sakpase has now become the master

I am currently still testing a new patch version of my database but I am a bit reluctant to release without checking all the minor details with something like FMRTE. Im just completing a few seasons in a game, I assume it will be ready for release for the new year... with or without FMRTE

I have pointed a few others towards this thread to help the community.

OK.. Latest Lincs database is up, updated for the new patch release. I will do one more for the next patch and include any suggestions people have from the previous versions (none so far, I hope thats a good thing!).

I was wondering, as there are many posters of fantasy leagues, was there a possibility of a tips/instruction manuel thread? I am sure there are many people on the forum who would love to do their own also, it seems a very personal thing. If there was a way of preventing any already encountered problems and stuff like that, to prevent putting people off after a couple of attempts. Thanks a lot for this thread anyways. (Y)

I have already had two suggested tweaks to my database. Anyone who has downloaded it could do it themselves as they are very minor.

1. Remove Reserve Teams (This is to the preference of the user)

2. Look into league player rules, need to enhance national team without causing issues with clubs from out of nation.

Both these will be implemented in the final release after the last patch. The lessons learnt from all this will make the 2011 database all that much better 1st time around!

Any other tweak suggestions are more than welcome.

I'm making a regional league and have come upon a problem. I've done everything already. Created Tyrol out of Burma, changed all cities, stadia, players, etc. Sent Israel back to Asia to make space for Tyrol in Europe - except when it comes to qualify for the european championship - Israel still goes to the draw instead of the newly created nation. Any idea on how to fix this?
